In this paper, a morphological method is proposed. The proposed method combines the automatic thresholding and morphological operation techniques to extract the road centerline of the urban environment. This method intends to solve urban road centerline problems, vehicle, vegetation, building etc. Based on this morphological method, an object extractor is designed to extract road networks from highly remote sensing images. Some filters are applied in this experiment such as line reconstruction and region filling techniques to connect the disconnected road segments and remove the small redundant. Finally, the thinning algorithm is used to extract the road centerline. Experiments have been conducted on a high-resolution IKONOS and QuickBird images showing the efficiency of the proposed method.展开更多

This paper studies the method of seismic energy dispersion compensation which provides the basic principles for multi-scale morphology and the spectrum simulation method. These methods are applied in seismic energy compensation. First of all, the seismic data is decomposed into multiple scales and the effective frequency bandwidth is selectively broadened for some scales by using a spectrum simulation method. In this process, according to the amplitude spectrum of each scale, the best simulation range is selected to simulate the middle and low frequency components to ensure the authenticity of the simulation curve which is calculated by the median method, and the high frequency component is broadened. Finally, these scales are reconstructed with reasonable coefficients, and the compensated seismic data can be obtained. Examples are shown to illustrate the feasibility of the energy compensation method.展开更多

The method employs a kind of object oriented structure element, which is derived by genetic algorithms. The population of morphological filters is iteratively evaluated according to a statistical performance index corresponding to object extraction ability, and evolves into an optimal structuring element using the evolution principles of genetic search. Experimental results of road extraction from high resolution satellite images are presented to illustrate the merit and feasibility of the proposed method.展开更多

Various dye-to-DNA base pair (bp) ratios were imaged using the blinking property of YOYO-1 dye under optimum BALM switching buffer conditions. Individual DNA molecules exhibited regular/irregular intercalating phenomena with respect to dye-to-DNA bp ratio. The acquired images were reconstructed into super-resolution images by applying a Gaussian fit to the centroid of the point spread function. The YOYO-1 intercalated with λ-DNA possessed a non-homogeneous region due to the different binding modes of YOYO-1 with λ-DNA. Each binding mode was imaged at the sub-diffraction limit super-resolution. The distance between homogenously localized intercalating dyes within the DNA molecules was measured to be 34nm (n= 10; dye:DNAbp= 1:100) without photocleavage in 50mmol/L β-mercaptoethylamine buffer. The results were similar to those of the theoretical values without photocleavage in the base pairs of single DNA molecules below the diffraction limit. The results paved the way for an in-depth microscopic analysis of molecular variation with single λ-DNA molecules. With this method, it should be possible to analyze the exact base pair breakdown during various stages of cell apoptosis.展开更多
