Study on implementing constructivism teaching concept of British-American Literature Teaching

Due to the influence of traditional teaching concepts, teaching practice of English and American Literature, perfusion teaching model has been relatively common, students tend to become a vassal and object of teaching, criticism and independence have been suppressed. Constructivist teaching concept is raised by drawbacks of traditional teaching. Starting from the reflection of the traditional teaching of English and American literature, propose the external study to explore multiple perspectives and to define the center to teach learning-centered teaching concept, and thus analysis the reform method, direction and specific implementation methods of current English and American Literature teaching, hoping to affect the current British and American Literature Teaching reform.

Exploration and Research on English Linguistics Teaching Based on the Perspective of Constructivism

In the current education system in China,the English major is an important part of the education system.As the exchanges between China’s and foreign countries have deepened,the importance of English education has become more prominent.Therefore,it is of great significance to improve students’ability to use spoken English.However,as far as the teaching model in China’s current universities and colleges is concerned,there are still many problems,and there is an urgent need for optimization and rectification.Based on this,this paper is based on the theory of constructivism,and deeply explores the solution to the problem of the current China’s English linguistics teaching model and hope this paper can provide a meaningful reference for China’s English education.

Principles of＂Constructivism＂ in Foreign Language Teaching

The core ideas of Constructivism were mentioned by John Dewey, so it is not a new idea. Constructivism claims that each learner constructs knowledge individually and socially. The ＂glue＂ that holds the constructs together is meaning. Knowledge is not ＂out there＂, as the realist philosophers such as Plato claimed. Knowledge is always an interpretation of reality, not a ＂true＂ representation of it. Thus, the aims of this study are： （1） to shed the light on the schools of constructivism, and （2） to clarify the principles of the constructivist learning in general and in language teaching in particular.

An Empirical Study on Problems of English Phonetic Teaching in Primary Schools and Countermeasures Based on Constructivism Theory-A Case Study of

According to constructivism theory, students do not acquire knowledge in teachers’ teaching but rather in cooperation with others in certain social environments. The theory stresses the importance of learning initiatives and cooperation. Based on constructivism theory, this paper uses empirical research, literature reference, and questionnaire survey to explore the phonetic teaching process of primary school English, to analyze problems from teachers and pupils, thus putting forward corresponding countermeasures. In the study, 100 pupils are interviewed from Grade 5 and Grade 6 of Jietou Central Primary School in Taizhou City. It is found through the questionnaire and data analysis of the problems on English phonetic teaching ways and skills as well as the English phonetic teaching situation that pupils lack listening training and interest in English learning. By analyzing the problems, the paper uses constructivism theory to put forward proposals of improving teachers’ teaching situation and pupils’ English phonetic situation, with the purpose of helping teachers to improve themselves in English phonetic teaching and finally improving pupils’ level in their English learning.

Application of Constructivism in English Teaching

Constructivism is an important branch of cognitive theory. It is a leading theory of education at the end of 20th century and the early 21th century. Language itself is a kind of social construct, learning a language is construct personal knowledge. Under the guidance of constructivist learning theory, English teaching has transformed into a student-centered self-construct mode. It created a new situation that students can receive the overall development and personality development through situation setting, collaborative learning and meaning construction.

Progressive teaching of Qi under the guidance of constructivism theory

Qi is the core concept that runs through the theory of traditional Chinese medicine.It is the basic connection between ancient philosophy and traditional Chinese medicine.It is the most difficult and most key point of students’learning.Considering the characteristics of the course and the cognitive style of students,we use constructivist cognitive theory as a reference to design progressive teaching of the Qi content included in the course textbook.The process consists of two parts.The first part is the construction of the basic theory.Students are guided as they build schemata of basic concepts to assemble a deep understanding.They then take the initiative,and participate in the explanation,thereby completely internalizing the knowledge.The second part of the process is clinical skill training in collecting,sorting and writing medical records.In the end we have achieved the teaching goal of driving students’interest in learning,providing them with basic theoretical knowledge,and exercising the comprehensive practical problem solving skills,while cultivating the style of thinking required by practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine.

A Study of Oral English Teaching and Learning in Vocational Collegesfrom the Perspective of Constructivism

With the increasing development of China’economy and society,the communication between China and other countries is on the rise,which contribute to the increasing demands of foreign languages especially English.As a result,oral English plays an important role in English learning and it is necessary for learners to improve their oral English.While the traditional teaching models cannot meet the teaching demand now,Constructivist learning theory(CLT),a very important branch of the cognitive theory has arisen a considerable amount of interest as a new teaching method.In the paper,the author try to apply constructivist learning theory to vocational college oral English teaching in order to explore some oral English teaching models from a constructivist perspective and hopes that this paper can provide some help to apply the CLT to vocational oral English teaching.
