"Beauty in the Gathering:Exhibition of Precious Collection from Art Museums around China"opens at the National Art Museum of China(NAMOC)on February 1 and lasts until April 1.The exhibition provides a glimpse of the great variety of art collected by 15 museums,and distinctive features that vary from region to region,which has witnessed the further prosperity and development of the art museum industry since the new era.The exhibition showcases over 500 pieces of traditional Chinese painting,oil painting,printmaking,watercolor painting,lacquer painting,sculpture,folk art,mixed media art,calligraphy and other collections provided by these museums.

With plants as the "kernel",based on the deliberation on the "kernel",by combining with "cultural inheritance and scientific development" as the theme of the exhibition,the paper has illustrated the design idea of Kernel Garden with plants landscaping as the dominance.On the basis of the natural condition,location and terrain of the No.6 exhibition garden,four functional spaces,seven transport nodes and a diagonal composition have been designed by adopting modern landscaping techniques.Through the illustration of seasonal plant landscapes,it has created the artistic conception of "inhaling in spring","enjoying in summer","tasting in autumn" and "listening in winter".Through the creative design of "Kernel Garden",it hopes to arouse the society's concern and pursuit of the future living environment and explore the development direction of landscaping and living environment.

New Exhibition Practices and the Role of Museums in a Pandemic

The global epidemic caused by the COVID-19 virus has affected the behavior and consciousness of people.Fears associated with their own death,the death of loved ones,uncertainty in the future,insecurity and vulnerability combined with a new vision of the world around us,nature,their physicality,the value of other people,the value of society in general and their place in it.Various emotions,anxieties,and new discoveries found their expression in the pieces of art created during the pandemic and bearing its imprint.The new conditions influenced not only the content of the expositions of modern museums,but also the activities of the museum as a whole.That tendency conduced the relocation of the transfer of expositions to open spaces,emerging of the new exhibition formats,the active development of Internet projects,the creation of social clubs and groups to support each other by people in a pandemic.Thus,the contemporary museum takes on a new role.In a crisis,it becomes a place where it is possible to master complex emotions with the help of art,a platform for discussions,exchange of their impressions,experiences,with the aim of helping people find emotional balance and hope in the future in a crisis.

Time, Culture and Identity: A Digital and Creative Professional’s Perspective on Interpreting Historical Clocks in Museum Environments

Digital media offer unique opportunities for museums to bring to life the secrets and stories of their historical collections.To bring insight into the process of developing digital media exhibits,this paper presents the perspective of a creative practitioner in approaching technology-and media-based interpretation for collection objects.It follows the Time,Culture and Identity digital workshop held in Beijing in October 2019,which explored and shared ideas about collaborative research and interdisciplinary practice in digital interpretation between academics,institutions,creative practitioners,and developers.Following the direction of the workshop,the paper takes as its focus the clocks and automatons of the imperial collection at the Palace Museum in Beijing.Observations are based on the author’s practice-led experience in running a design studio,Harmonic Kinetic,developing new media exhibits using digital technology and audiovisual media for museums,galleries,and exhibitions in the UK,including the Science Museum,V&A,Barbican,Tate,and the Tower of London.Taking a broad interaction-design-led outlook,the paper explores a personal design perspective for developing interpretive content and considers the particular opportunities and approaches these historical devices suggest.The paper concludes with a final section that reviews the process and reflects on outcomes from the Time,Culture and Identity digital workshop.This explored possibilities for an interpretive exhibit on the Country Scene clock from the Palace Museum collection.

The Civilization Consciousness and Imagination Landscape of Guangdong in the Late Ch’ing Dynasty and the Early Republic of China:A Case Study of Guangdong Education Museum

After the“restoration”of Guangdong Province in 1912,the government has been working hard to construct an advanced and civilized city image of Guangdong Province.In October of the same year,the Guangdong Education Museum,which is located in the Department of Education of Guangdong Province,opened in a hurry,trying to inspire a new chapter in the understanding of Chinese civilization with educational models.This paper attempts to explore the cultural relationship between the exhibition mode,exhibition logic,social activities,human cognition,and urban space through a case study of the development of the regional museum.On the one hand,the development of its form paradigm has gone through the superposition of the texts and practical experience of the construction of the Oriental Learning and Education Museum,the exhibition of educational products in 1904,the Nanyang Business Association in 1910,the Guangdong Education Conference,etc.,and various related museum experience and cultural behaviors have been highlighted,forming a standardized exhibition of Educational Museum;on the other hand,Zhong Rongguang and others have created an exhibition of Educational Museum in the social activities of“model province”,Guangdong Education Museum,as an important cultural index of Guangzhou,the capital city of Guangdong Province,constituted an important landscape of the metropolis in the early Republic of China,thus shaping and influencing the social and cultural space tone of Guangzhou after the 1920s.

Chizhou Xiushanmen Museum is a comprehensive historic museum at the regional level,and its collections boast distinctive regional and national features.The thesis studies the English translations for cultural relics displayed in Chizhou Xiushanmen Museum,in an attempt to formulate some strategies for such translation.Analysis of the various translation techniques employed in the translation and their application helps maximize the interpretation of the cultural factors.

Study of Immersion in Augmented Reality Through Analysis of Immersion Elements in Museums

With the advent of the information age,augmented reality technology can enhance the sense of reality in the virtual world and immerse people in the real and virtual world.People have always been interested in virtual space or augmented reality technology,especially in the face of historical development trends.Museums have always been open to the public,they are not just a collection,but also an exhibition for the public.Through analyzing different museums,it is found that museums with augmented reality technology exhibitions are non-profit museums for the purpose of emotional experience.In order to find out the immersion factors of virtual reality in museums,on the basis of previous research,this paper divides immersion in augmented reality into story immersion,five-sense experience immersion,and spatial interaction immersion.Through the analysis of different museums,it is found that immersion through five-sense experience is the most commonly used method when all display media are included.This method provides educational content for museum visitors and projects virtual presentations through monitors and portable IT devices,thereby increasing visitors’viewing pleasure.

在博物馆收藏史中出现了大量为认知服务的展品,这些展品的集合所形成的主题性展览旨在帮助人们理解某一事件、现象或进程。对展品进行阐释是帮助观众理解展览的必要工作,也是展览策划与设计的核心任务。阐释工作可以从个体的和群体的两个层面展开。在对个体展品的阐释中,主要要解决实物展品在传播中的信息隐蔽性与表达非耗时性带来的困难,除了符号化外,内涵与语境的可视化,在展项中注入时间维度,都是解决传播难点的有效方法。展品的群体性集合可以通过分类和叙事展开,分类和叙事都具有良好的阐释功能,使集合体中的个体得到有效的解释。

我国博物馆数字化建设中的版权问题与治理路径研究

数字化建设是当前博物馆应对数字经济时代的挑战、主动融入数字化变革的重要手段,其过程可以大致分为文物资源数字化、数字资源资产化和展览虚拟现实化三个阶段。文物资源数字化的过程中主要面临新的版权作品生成与否的判断难题;数字资源资产化阶段的版权风险主要在于NFT(Non-Fungible Token)数字藏品的版权生成和流转环节;博物馆虚拟展览因观众参与方式和自由创作程度的不同而面临不同的版权问题。针对数字化建设中存在的版权问题,博物馆亟需进行版权风险的应对与治理,数字化版权风险评估是首要任务,其次应该完善博物馆数字化版权风险防范机制,最后还应该从人才培养和技术创新两个方面提升博物馆的数字化版权维权能力和治理水平。
