When the western bourgeois democratic ideology was introduced to China at the end of the 19th century, the Chinese bourgeoisie, influenced by the thought of equality of the sexes, initiated the women’s movement. This movement was mainly characterized by promoting women’s education, the abolition of foot-binding and the founding of publications for women.展开更多
