The aim of this research was to examine the effect of microstructural parameters on the tensile properties of different compositions of tungsten heavy alloys. The microstructural parameters (grain size, connectivity, contiguity, and solid volume fraction) were measured and were found to have a significant effect on the tensile properties of tungsten-based heavy alloys. The microstructural parameters of W-Ni-Fe alloys are sufficiently different to present a range of mechanical properties. It is concluded that the mechanical properties of tungsten heavy alloys largely depend on the microstructural parameters and their ductility is particularly harmed when grains are contiguous. 展开更多

Nanocrystalline Ni-Fe alloy foils were fabricated by using a continuous electrodeposition system, and then they were annealed at different temperatures ranging from room temperature to 650 ℃. A ductile-brittle-ductile evolution of these alloy foils was observed along with the increase of annealing temperature, and was affected by iron content. The first and second transformation took place at below 300 ℃ and over 500 ℃, respectively. Iron improved thermal stability of nanocrystalline Ni-Fe alloys. The XRD data indicated that for Ni100-xFex (x > 55) alloys bcc to fcc phase transformed at 300 ℃ and completely at 500℃. 展开更多

Consolidation of MA W-Ni-Fe Alloyed Powder by Microwave-Assisted Sintering

MA W-Ni-Fe alloyed powder compact was sintered by microwave technology, and the influence of microwave sintering on consolidation of W-Ni-Fe alloy was studied. The fracture morphology and microstructure of alloys were measured by SEM and metallurgical microscope. The experimental results showed that microwave sintering promoted the densification of MA W-Ni-Fe alloyed powder quickly with the higher heating rate. The density of the sintered samples increased with the increase of sintering temperature, and significant densification shrinkage occured at 1300 ~ 1400°C. The tungsten grain grew rapidly at 1450°C. When the alloy was microwave sintered at 1550°C, the inner structure of alloy is more homogeneous, the average W grain size is about 15 μm, and the relative density of sintered specimen is 99%. 展开更多

Three kinds of nano-crystalline high density alloys(86W-7Ni-3Fe-4Mo, 90W-4Ni-2Fe-4Mo and 90W4Ni-2Fe-3.8Mo-0.2RE) were fabricated by a technique combining lower temperature vacuum sintering with highenergy ball milling mechanical alloying. The crystalline size and microstructures of the specimens sintered at different sintering temperatures were examined by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscope(SEM). The results show that the optimal sintering temperature of 86W-7Ni-3Fe-4Mo, 90W-4Ni-2Fe-4Mo and 90W-4Ni-2Fe3.8Mo-0.2RE alloys are 1 300 - 1 350 ℃. When they are sintered at 1 300 ℃ for 75 min, the hardness of three kinds of specimens can reach above HRC30, the relative density can reach above 96%,and 90W-4Ni-2Fe-3.8Mo-0.2RE alloy possesses the best integrated properties, its hardness is HRC35 and its relative density is 98%. 展开更多

The Ni-Fe alloy coatings were prepared by electro-deposited method,and the effects of the saccharin content in the electrolytes on the microstructure of the coatings were studied by using X-ray diffractometry(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The results show that the saccharin content in the bath affects the plating rates and the current efficiency remarkably.As the saccharin content increases,the grain size of the Ni-Fe alloys decreases.The average grain size of the deposits varies from 13 nm to 10.8 nm as the saccharin content increases from 0 g/L to 8 g/L.Accordingly,the microhardness of the as-cold deformed samples increases from Hv 600 to Hv 656. 展开更多

The anodic electrooxidation of ethanol to value-added acetate is an excellent example of replacing the oxygen evolution reaction to promote the cathodic hydrogen evolution reaction and save energy.Herein,we present a colloidal strategy to produce Ni-Fe bimetallic alloy nanoparticles(NPs)as efficient electrocatalysts for the electrooxidation of ethanol in alkaline media.Ni-Fe alloy NPs deliver a current density of 100 mA·cm^(-2) in a 1.0 M KOH solution containing 1.0 M ethanol merely at 1.5 V vs.reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE),well above the performance of other electrocatalysts in a similar system.Within continuous 10 h testing at this external potential,this electrode is able to produce an average of 0.49 mmol·cm^(-2)·h^(-1) of acetate with an ethanol-to-acetate Faradaic efficiency of 80%.A series of spectroscopy techniques are used to probe the electrocatalytic process and analyze the electrolyte.Additionally,density functional theory(DFT)calculations demonstrate that the iron in the alloy NPs significantly enhances the electroconductivity and electron transfer,shifts the rate-limiting step,and lowers the energy barrier during the ethanol-to-acetate reaction pathway. 展开更多

文中利用手工TIG焊+FM700-1焊丝,制备了新型Ni-Fe基高温合金HT700对接接头。通过对焊接接头宏观组织及微观形貌的分析,发现焊接微区存在微观组织和力学性能的不均匀性,靠近熔合线的母材晶粒发生了明显粗化,焊缝存在枝晶偏析,热影响区和... 文中利用手工TIG焊+FM700-1焊丝,制备了新型Ni-Fe基高温合金HT700对接接头。通过对焊接接头宏观组织及微观形貌的分析,发现焊接微区存在微观组织和力学性能的不均匀性,靠近熔合线的母材晶粒发生了明显粗化,焊缝存在枝晶偏析,热影响区和焊缝的硬度和强度均高于母材的。过大的焊接热输入使得热影响区和焊缝出现了热裂纹。最终得到结论如下:(1)焊缝组织为典型的柱状γ相,组织存在明显的枝晶偏析现象;(2)焊接接头微区力学性能呈现梯度分布的特征,这主要与其微观组织不均匀性有关;(3)打底区的焊接热输入过大,导致该区域的热影响区和焊缝均产生了热裂纹,而填充区的焊接热输入较小,焊缝和热影响区并未见热裂纹产生。 展开更多

钨基高比重合金因具有高密度、高强度、良好的塑性与韧性、优异的耐腐蚀性等综合性能,被广泛应用于航空航天、兵器、机械等各领域。本研究采用金属粉末注射成形技术制备97W-Ni-Fe合金,研究了不同Co含量和烧结温度对97W-Ni-Fe合金微观组... 钨基高比重合金因具有高密度、高强度、良好的塑性与韧性、优异的耐腐蚀性等综合性能,被广泛应用于航空航天、兵器、机械等各领域。本研究采用金属粉末注射成形技术制备97W-Ni-Fe合金,研究了不同Co含量和烧结温度对97W-Ni-Fe合金微观组织、密度、抗拉强度、延伸率和硬度的影响。结果表明,添加适量Co能够改善97W-Ni-Fe合金中钨颗粒与粘结相的润湿性,起到活化烧结的作用,降低烧结温度,提高合金相对密度;Co对合金的相组成影响不大,添加Co和未添加Co的两种合金相组成基本一致,均由W相和(Fe,Ni,Co)固溶体组成,没有金属间化合物出现。当Co含量为0.2%(质量分数)时,在氢气气氛下,烧结温度为1495℃、保温1 h,制备的97W-Ni-Fe合金具有最优异的性能,其相对密度为99.1%、抗拉强度为938 MPa、延伸率为11.3%和洛氏硬度为29.5。 展开更多

In order to expand the application of the electrodeposited Ni-Fe alloy foil,their mechanical and magnetic properties were studied after heat treatment.The development of grain growth during annealing was in-situ online investigated using a heating stage microscope,and the texture was analyzed via X-ray diffraction(XRD)and electron back-scattered diffraction(EBSD).The results indicated that abnormal grain growth usually occurred during annealing at 1000-1050°C.The{111}oriented grains preferentially grew as the annealing temperature and holding time increased.The plasticities of the electrodeposited Ni-Fe alloy foils after heat treatment were better than those of the original samples.The excellent ductility was obtained without a loss in magnetic properties after annealing at 1100°C for 6h. 展开更多

The results indicate that the six elements can be co-deposited in an organic system of DMF (N,N-dimethylformamide)-CH3CN. The surface of the film is composed of compact and uniform particles with triangular cone shape and a particle size of 100-200 nm. A simple face-centered-cubic structure is identified by XRD patterns after the films were annealed under Ar atmosphere. The annealed alloy film shows soft magnetic properties and the magnetization decreases with Fe content decreasing. 展开更多

The electroless deposition of Ni68-Fe10.5-P21.5 alloy has been investigated. The crystallization behavior of the deposit was comparatively studied by using differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffractometry. The deposit transforms into a square Ni3P phase at 380. 0 ℃, then changes into a cubic FeNi3 phase at 490. 0 ℃. The microhardness, the size of the formed grains and the magnetic performance of the deposit increase with the increase of the heat treatment temperature below 500 ℃, then they decrease after this temperature. The effect of heat treatment time at 500 ℃ on the surface micromorphology, the structure and the magnetic performance of the deposit were also studied. The resuits show that with the increase of heat treatment time, the extent of crystallization of the deposit increases and the size of the formed grains becomes uniform. The results also show that the magnetic performance of the deposit under heat treatment for 40 min is maximal and then decreases with the increase of heat treatment time. The property change of the deposit is related to the crystal structure and the size of the formed grains of the deposit. 展开更多

High-entropy alloys(HEAs),which were introduced as a pioneering concept in 2004,have captured the keen interest of nu-merous researchers.Entropy,in this context,can be perceived as representing disorder and randomness.By contrast,elemental composi-tions within alloy systems occupy specific structural sites in space,a concept referred to as structure.In accordance with Shannon entropy,structure is analogous to information.Generally,the arrangement of atoms within a material,termed its structure,plays a pivotal role in dictating its properties.In addition to expanding the array of options for alloy composites,HEAs afford ample opportunities for diverse structural designs.The profound influence of distinct structural features on the exceptional behaviors of alloys is underscored by numer-ous examples.These features include remarkably high fracture strength with excellent ductility,antiballistic capability,exceptional radi-ation resistance,and corrosion resistance.In this paper,we delve into various unique material structures and properties while elucidating the intricate relationship between structure and performance. 展开更多

This work studied the microstructure,mechanical properties and damping properties of Mg_(95.34)Ni_(2)Y_(2.66) and Mg_(95.34)Zn_(1)Ni_(1)Y_(2.66)alloys systematically.The difference in the evolution of the long-period stacked ordered(LPSO)phase in the two alloys during heat treatment was the focus.The morphology of the as-cast Mg_(95.34)Ni_(2)Y_(2.66)presented a disordered network.After heat treatment at 773 K for 2 hours,the eutectic phase was integrated into the matrix,and the LPSO phase maintained the 18R structure.As Zn partially replaced Ni,the crystal grains became rounded in the cast alloy,and lamellar LPSO phases and more solid solution atoms were contained in the matrix after heat treatment of the Mg_(95.34)Zn_(1)Ni_(1)Y_(2.66)alloy.Both Zn and the heat treatment had a significant effect on damping.Obvious dislocation internal friction peaks and grain boundary internal friction peaks were found after temperature-dependent damping of the Mg_(95.34)Ni_(2)Y_(2.66)and Mg_(95.34)Zn_(1)Ni_(1)Y_(2.66)alloys.After heat treatment,the dislocation peak was significantly increased,especially in the alloy Mg_(95.34)Ni_(2)Y_(2).66.The annealed Mg_(95.34)Ni_(2)Y_(2.66)alloy with a rod-shaped LPSO phase exhibited a good damping performance of 0.14 atε=10^(−3),which was due to the difference between the second phase and solid solution atom content.These factors also affected the dynamic modulus of the alloy.The results of this study will help in further development of high-damping magnesium alloys. 展开更多
