阅读教学是小学英语教学的重要内容,对教材体系和近年来各类公开课的观察研究发现:Non-fiction作为阅读教学的重要组成部分,在国内的小学英语教学中略显"冷门"。结合教材,通过对文本的解构、重构、再构,对非虚构类文本教学进行思考和实践,以提升学生不同体裁文本的阅读能力,全面提升学生的语言素养。

Italian Non-Fiction Literature Towards the Phenomenon of Contemporary Emigration From Africa and the Near East on the Apennine Peninsula

The phenomenon of recent emigration on the Apennine Peninsula is quite fresh but intense. The emigration literary culture which is formed in this exile is not very abundant, but with distinct trends between certificating and documenting the experiences of immigrants. Reportages play an important role, including A Sud di Lampedusa. Cinque anni di viaggi sulle rotte dei migranti by Stefano Liberti, A Lampedusa. Affari, malaffari, rivolta e sconfitta dell＇isola che voleva diventare la porta d＇Europa, a book written by Italian journalists Fabio Sanfilippo and Alice Scialoja, and a diary La scelta di Catia written by Catia Pellegrino. In addition, many materials （including journalistic materials） confirm the existence of a preliminary reconnaissance, however, requires further research. Italian documentaries, personal opinions and comments that go far beyond literature in the strict sense complement the panorama of contemporary emigration which comes from Africa and the Near East. However, they allow us to understand better the area of psychosocial determinants of individual migration decisions and specificity of the migrants＇ experience, including the experience of the community. How do human solidarity and effectiveness work in the process of the emigration on the European continent？ An analysis of the phenomenon of the emigration on the Apennine Peninsula is inextricably linked with the questions about the confrontation and integration, about the literature which is created in this community and the impact political correctness has on its shape, as well as about the new model of immigrant/the African/the European.

A Comparative Study of Artificial Intelligence and Translation Software in Chinese-English Translation:A Focus on Literary and Technical Texts

In recent years,the domain of machine translation has experienced remarkable growth,particularly with the emergence of neural machine translation,which has significantly enhanced both the accuracy and fluency of translation.At the same time,AI also showed its tremendous advancement,with its capabilities now extending to assisting users in a multitude of tasks,including translation,garnering attention across various sectors.In this paper,the author selects representative sentences from both literary and scientific texts,and translates them using two translation software and two AI tools for comparison.The results show that all four translation tools are very efficient and can help with simple translation tasks.However,the accuracy of terminology needs to be improved,and it is difficult to make adjustments based on the characteristics of the target language.It is worth mentioning that one of the advantages of AI is its interactivity,which allows it to modify the translation according to the translator’s needs.

Research on the Classification of Western Literary Criticism Under M. H. Abrams’Fourfold Model

This study explores the application of Abrams’Fourfold Model in the classification of Western literary criticism.Abrams’framework categorizes literary criticism into four fundamental elements:text,author,world,and audience.The text is viewed as an independent entity with intrinsic artistic value,necessitating a detailed analysis of its structure,style,themes,and symbols.Author study delves into the creator’s life and socio-cultural context,often to uncover the work’s deeper meanings.Contextual study situates the work within its historical and social milieu,examining its reflection of or response to societal norms and events.Audience response analysis considers the diverse interpretations shaped by readers’backgrounds,emphasizing the reader’s role in constructing the work’s meaning.The study concludes that Abrams’Fourfold Model offers a comprehensive and flexible analytical tool,enabling critics to engage with literary works from multiple perspectives,thereby enriching the understanding of literary complexity and diversity.

Innovative Teaching Research on Literary Theory and Criticism

As a core compulsory course for English majors majoring in teacher education,Literary Theory and Criticism plays an important role in enhancing text understanding,cultivating critical thinking,and shaping correct values in the future development of students.Influenced by traditional teaching ideas,students have many difficulties when learning this course,such as insufficient theoretical understanding,inadequate ability improvement,and not enough investment in course learning.In response to the above issues,this course focuses closely on the fundamental task of“cultivating virtue and nurturing people”,relying on modern information technology and introducing research methods of digital humanities.This course uses“7C”teaching mode under the“three-level integration”,in which“teaching”and“education”are carried out synchronously,and“teacher”and“student”are developed together,in order to greatly enhance students’learning participation and course satisfaction.

Literary Reading Intervention Strategies for Adolescents with Depression

Teenagers are in the special stage of physical and mental development,and their psychological problems show complex and diverse characteristics.Depression is the most common mental disorder among teenagers.Literary reading has a certain intervention effect on depression and can be used as an important strategy for psychological intervention.Reading literature works can help teenagers understand and discover themselves from different angles,and then realize the self-recognition and intervention of depression.This paper mainly discusses the causes of depression in teenagers and the intervention principles and strategies of literary reading on depression,aiming to alleviate and eliminate the depressive symptoms of teenagers through literary reading and promote their physical and mental health development.

Discussion on the Purposes of Literary Education in Contemporary China

The purposes of education,both immediate and in the future,are an issue to be pondered.A number of scholars have responded that education has different aims,including the cultivation of citizenship,a flourishing life,and powerful knowledge.This paper aims to explore whether these different general goals accurately fit literary education and attest to them in the form of questions.Under each section,the paper begins by outlining the theoretical analysis and proceeds to present the author’s judgment and reflections based on experiences related to the context of contemporary China.

On Ethical Literary Criticism and Game Theory--An Interview with Professor Nie Zhenzhao

In 2014,Huang Kaihong,a professor at School of Foreign Languages and Cultures,Southwest University of Science and Technology,interviewed the Doctoral advisor Professor Nie Zhenzhao during the period of his academic visiting to Central China Normal University.As early as in 2005,Huang Kaihong conducted an interview with Professor Nie Zhenzhao on the topic of the general introduction of ethical literary criticism.So around 11 years later,the second interview mainly covers not only the ethical literary criticism theory,but the game theory and the relationship between them as well.Professor Nie thinks whether the game theory can be applied to literature research is still under discussion.The theory of ethical literary criticism is a kind of methodology based on science and it can get the attention of literary critics at home and abroad,which is because it fits the practical needs of literary criticism,draws the literary criticism away from only emphasizing criticism genres and the research of criticism terms,and pays attention to the true nature of the literary text in literature research.After consulting Professor Nie Zhenzhao about some related questions from the perspective of game theory.Huang Kaihong gets some significant information concerning literature research and understands the latest core terms and the concrete application method of ethical literary criticism,especially the relationship between the instructing and aesthetic functions of literature.

Multidimensional Interpretation of National Spirit and Literary Education:Cultural and Educational Value of Color Symbols in Tolstoy’s Works

This article analyzes the symbolic colors red,white,and blue in Lev Tolstoy’s works,exploring their interrelation and educational significance in reflecting the Russian national spirit.The article first reviews the symbolic significance of red,white,and blue in Russian history,and then analyzes in depth the multiple connotations of colors in Tolstoy’s classic works Anna Karenina,War and Peace,and Resurrection.Through the combination of color symbols with characters’destinies,inner conflict,and historical background,this paper explores how Tolstoy’s literary works reflect the historical changes and national spirit of Russia,especially the important value in education and cultural inheritance,providing a new perspective for the study of literary education and emphasizing the educational role of color symbols in literary works in shaping national spirit and cultural identity.

Felski’s Literary Sociological Thought From the Perspective of Actor-Network Theory

The relationship between literature and society has been a subject of continuous exploration since the inception of literature itself.On the one hand,from Plato’s theory of mimesis onward,literature has consistently been viewed as a representation of social reality,positioning literature as subordinate to society.On the other hand,with the rise of structuralism and the New Criticism,certain schools of thought have focused exclusively on literature itself,deliberately overlooking the complex connections between literature and society.The growing tension between these two perspectives has increasingly placed contemporary literary studies in a polarized state,leading to a crisis in the legitimacy of literary scholarship.In response to this,Rita Felski’s exploration of the uses of literature embodies a new literary sociology that offers a way out of the current impasse in literary studies.

现实中,作品千差万别,《伯尔尼公约》将其分为两类:文学作品和艺术作品。20世纪80年代,美国等国将计算机软件作为文学作品,纳入版权法的保护范围。随后,在西方国家的鼓动下,《TRIPS协定》也要求WTO成员将计算机软件作为《伯尔尼公约》中的文学作品加以保护。令人遗憾的是,我国学界未能将"文学作品"理解为一个法律概念,想当然地认为软件与"文学"无关,将literaryworks译成"文字作品"以期涵盖计算机软件。此后,在概念法学的驱使下,又推断出"口述作品"。受此误导,我国《著作权法》以双重标准——作品形式和作品内容——对作品进行分类,致使作品各种类之间矛盾、重叠。为了使我国著作权法中作品的分类更加科学,建议将Literary Works译为"文学作品"。

On the Study of Translation Approaches of Culture-loaded Words in Literary Works

Culture-loaded words refer to expressions and idioms that carry typically culture messages. The peculiarity of one culture cannot be understood or accepted by readers from another culture. The uniqueness very likely makes misunderstanding and may lead to cultural vacancy in other cultures. Due to the culture differences between Chinese and English, it is hard for a translator to achieve complete equivalence at the level of word. On Aesthetic Recognition of Literary Fuzziness and Translation

Due to the prevalence of fuzziness in literary works and in poetry in particular,the author puts forward the view that some skills such as rhetoric devices,abstraction,meaning manifestation,creation of imagination context are to be adopted in the translation of literary fuzziness from the perspective of aesthetic recognition to achieve an integration between the textual implication and the readers' expectation horizon.And the author takes the translation of Chinese classic poems for example,through detailed analysis and comparison,proves the feasibility of the viewpoint.

On Embedding Literary Stylistic Awareness in English Grammar Teaching

The quality of language use is mainly evaluated at the levels of correctness,appropriateness and creativeness.Stylisticfeatures are manifested at the levels of appropriateness and creativeness.In traditional English grammar teaching,much effort isput on the correctness.Appropriateness is treated in part and creativeness is largely ignored.Isolated from concrete contexts,lin-guistic materials used for grammar teaching tend to be inefficient to ensure effective communication.The teaching of dry grammati-cal rules may lead to monotony and boredom in grammar learning.If the linguistic materials used in grammar teaching address cor-rectness,appropriateness and creativeness in language use simultaneously and are closer to life,grammar learning may be morefruitful.As literary texts are characterized by both the social discourses under multiple contexts and personal tastes,their styles arerich and lively.Therefore,to embed literary texts in English grammar teaching will not only create a more concrete,meaningful andinteresting context for the learning of grammatical rules but also be beneficial for the cultivation of stylistic awareness.

Novel Translation is an Art of Literary Re-creation——A Distinguished Art Feature in Chinese Version Tess of the D'urbervilles

Literary translation is the re-creation of the language art.To translate an English novel into Chinese one,translators need the skill of literature re-creation.Taking Zhang Guruo's translated version Tess of the D'urbervilles as an example,we perceive that translators have subjectivity and they should break the boundary between writing and translating.When a translator translates a piece of works,he must get rid of the constraint of the surface structures of the original works,and reproduces the flavor of the original novel.But the translators should try to show the original scenes in the original English novel to target readers.
