Glaciers,as“solid reservoirs”,are precious resources in arid areas.The study of glaciers is of great significance to the sustainable development and management of agriculture and the economy in northern Xinjiang.The area of glacier distribution on the 1963 topographic map data,1975 MSS data,2000 ETM data,2008 CBERS-2 data,2014 and 2018 ETM+were collected as secondary data.According to the remote sensing survey,the glacier areas in Northern Xinjiang are identified during 1963-2018.Based on the evolution of glacier area in the past 55 years,and using two scenarios,the average annual decrease area of a region during the whole 1963-2018 and the period with the minimum reduction area,the glacier areas of Southern Tianshan Mountains,Western Tianshan Mountains,Eastern Tianshan Mountains,the Sawuer Mountains and Altai Mountains in Northern Xinjiang,and the whole northern Xinjiang in 2030,2040,2050,and 2100 are examined and predicted.In 2100,the glacier area in Northern Xinjiang may decrease by 43%-59%. 展开更多

In this paper we present a review of mineral systems in northern Xinjiang, NW China, focussing on the Tianshan, West and East Junggar and Altay orogenic belts, all of which are part of the greater Central Asian Orogenic Belt (CAOB). The CAOB is a complex collage of ancient microcontinents, island arcs, oceanic plateaux and oceanic plates, which were amalgamated and accreted in Early Palaeozoic to Early Permian times. The establishment of the CAOB collage was followed by strike-slip movements and affected by intraplate magmatism, linked to mantle plume activity, best exemplified by the 250 Ma Siberian Traps and the 280 Ma Tarim event. In northern Xinjiang, there ale numerous and economically important mineral systems. In this contribution we describe a selection of representative mineral deposits, including subduction-related porphyry and epithermal deposits, volcanogenic massive sulphides and skarn systems. Shear zone-hosted Au lodes may have first formed as intrusion-related and subsequently re-worked during strike-slip deformation. Intraplate magmatism led to the emplacement of concentrically zoned (Alaskan-style) mafic-ultramafic intrusions, many of which host orthomagmatic sulphide deposits. Root growth and spatial and temporal distribution in the 0-100 cm soil profiles of three common annual halophytes Salsola subcrassa, Suaeda acuminate and Petrosimonia sibirica distributed in a saline desert in north- ern Xinjiang, China were studied in 2009 and 2010. The results showed that the root systems of the three halo- phytes were of the taproot type, vertically distributed in the 90-cm soil profile, and were deepest in late July. Their taproots reached maximum depth rapidly, early in the growth period, but with rare lateral roots. They were then dug out in an orderly way, from bottom to top, exhibiting vertical development first and then horizontal development. The distribution of specific root length, which reflects the characteristics of the feeder root, was gradually increased from top to bottom, whereas root weight displayed an opposite distribution pattern. The root length distribution of the three halophytes was concentrated (62% to 76%) in the middle soil profile (20-60 cm), with less distribution in the surface (0-20 cm) and bottom (60-90 cm) soil profiles. The results indicated that the roots of the three annual halophytes grew rapidly into the deeper soil layer after germination, which ensured the plant survival and uptake of water and nutrition, and thus built up a strong tolerance to an arid, high-salt environment. 展开更多

The characteristics of climatic change and fiver runoff, as well as the response of fiver runoff to climatic change in the northern Xinjiang are analyzed on the basis of the hydrological and meteorological data over the last 50 years by the methods of Mann-Kendall nonparametric test and the nonlinear regression model. The results show that: 1) The temperature and the precipitation increased significantly in the whole northern Xinjiang, but the precipitation displayed no obvious change, or even a decreasing trend in the northern mountainous area of the northern Xinjiang. 2) River runoff varied in different regions in the northern Xinjiang. It significantly increased in the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains and the north of the northern Xinjiang (p = 0.05), while slightly ificreased in the west of the northern Xinjiang. 3) North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) affects fiver runoff by influencing temperature and precipitation. The NAO and precipitation had apparent significant correlations with the fiver runoff, but the temperature did not in the northern Xinjiang. Since the mid-1990s fiver runoff increase was mainly caused by the increasing temperature in the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains and the north of the northern Xinjiang. Halophytes are valuable salt-, alkali- and drought-resistant germplasm resources. However, the char- acteristics of mineral elements in halophytes have not been investigated as intensively as those in crops. This study attempted to investigate the characteristics of mineral elements for annual halophytes during their growth period to reveal their possible physiological mechanisms of salt resistance. By using three native annual halophytes (Salsola subcrassa, Suaeda acuminate and Petrosimonia sibirica) distributed in the desert in Northern Xinjiang of China, the dynamic changes in the mineral element contents of annual halophytes were analyzed through field sampling and laboratory analyses. The results demonstrated that the annual halophytes were able to absorb water and mineral nutrients selectively. In the interaction between the annual halophytes and saline soil, the adaptability of the annual halophytes was manifested as the accumulation of S, Na and CI during the growth period and maintenance of water and salt balance in the plant, thus ensuring their selective absorption of N, P, K, Ca, Mg and other mineral nutrients according to their growth demand. By utilizing this property, halophyte planting and mowing (before the wilting and death periods) could bioremediate heavy saline-alkali soil. 展开更多

Surface albedo is a quantitative indicator for land surface processes and climate modeling,and plays an important role in surface radiation balance and climate change.In this study,by means of the MCD43A3 surface albedo product developed on the basis of Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS),we analyzed the spatiotemporal variation,persistence status,land cover type differences,and annual and seasonal differences of surface albedo,as well as the relationship between surface albedo and various influencing factors(including Normalized Difference Snow Index(NDSI),precipitation,Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI),land surface temperature,soil moisture,air temperature,and digital elevation model(DEM))in the north of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region(northern Xinjiang)of Northwest China from 2010 to 2020 based on the unary linear regression,Hurst index,and Pearson's correlation coefficient analyses.Combined with the random forest(RF)model and geographical detector(Geodetector),the importance of the above-mentioned influencing factors as well as their interactions on surface albedo were quantitatively evaluated.The results showed that the seasonal average surface albedo in northern Xinjiang was the highest in winter and the lowest in summer.The annual average surface albedo from 2010 to 2020 was high in the west and north and low in the east and south,showing a weak decreasing trend and a small and stable overall variation.Land cover types had a significant impact on the variation of surface albedo.The annual average surface albedo in most regions of northern Xinjiang was positively correlated with NDSI and precipitation,and negatively correlated with NDVI,land surface temperature,soil moisture,and air temperature.In addition,the correlations between surface albedo and various influencing factors showed significant differences for different land cover types and in different seasons.To be specific,NDSI had the largest influence on surface albedo,followed by precipitation,land surface temperature,and soil moisture;whereas NDVI,air temperature,and DEM showed relatively weak influences.However,the interactions of any two influencing factors on surface albedo were enhanced,especially the interaction of air temperature and DEM.NDVI showed a nonlinear enhancement of influence on surface albedo when interacted with land surface temperature or precipitation,with an explanatory power greater than 92.00%.This study has a guiding significance in correctly understanding the land-atmosphere interactions in northern Xinjiang and improving the regional land-surface process simulation and climate prediction. 展开更多

The process-facies types of the Devonian volcanic sedimentary successions in northern Xinjiang include explosive facies, effusive facies, pyroclastic-calcareous-terrigenous tempestite facies, and coarse^-, medium^- and fine-grained pyroclastic turbidite facies, volcanic eruption tsunamite facies, syndepositional and soft-deformed seismite facies, sandy and silt-muddy contourite facies. This paper presents their characteristics and diagnostic indicators, and discusses the temporal and spatial structures of both the process-facies and the environment-facies of the Zhifang section, east Junggar, and the Mount Sarburti section, west Junggar, and their relation to plate tectonism. The author holds that the facies analysis dominated by process-facies is the facies analysis' nucleus in an orogenic belt and active continental margin. 展开更多

Xinjiang is located in the core China’s‘Belt and Road’development,and northern Xinjiang is an important region for economic development.In recent years,due to the strong influence of global climate change and human disturbance,regional climate instability and ecological-economic-social system sensitivity have grown.In this paper,seasonal,interannual,interdecadal,spatial,abrupt,and periodic variations of temperature and precipitation in northern Xinjiang were analyzed using daily surface air temperature and precipitation data from 49 meteorological stations during 1961–2017.At the same time,the driving factors of climate change are discussed.Methods included linear regression,cumulative anomaly,the Mann-Kendall test,and Morlet wavelet analysis.The results indicated that during the study period,annual mean temperature and annual precipitation increased significantly at rates of 0.35℃/10 yr and 13.25 mm/10 yr,respectively,with abrupt changes occurring in 1994 and 1986.Annual mean temperature and annual precipitation in all four seasons showed increasing trends,with the maximum increases in winter of 0.42℃/10 yr and 3.95 mm/10 yr,respectively.The general climate in northern Xinjiang showed a trend towards increasingly warm and humid.In terms of spatial distribution,the temperature and precipitation in high mountainous areas increased the most,while basins areas increased only slightly.Periodic change analysis showed that annual mean temperature and annual precipitation experienced two climatic shifts from cold to warm and dry to wet,respectively.Population change,economic development and land use change are important factors affecting climate change,and more research should be done in this field. 展开更多

A systematic analysis of the inorganic and organic geochemistry of Middle Permian source rocks comprising carbonate rocks and mudstones was carried out, with samples collected from the outcrop and bore of the Junggar, Turpan and Ili basins in northern Xinjiang. This study confirmed that sedimentary parameters for an ancient water body, such as inorganic geochemistry and paleosalinity, have a close relation to the organic matter of source rocks. It is also disclosed that phytane predominance in the source rocks is mainly due to a reducing environment. Biomarkers, such as gammacerane and β-carotene, in the samples reflect a specific salinity in the sedimentary environments. Sedimentary zones with a strong reducing environment are more likely to produce deposits of primary organic matter, which will be buried and preserved contemporarily. Consequently, the source rocks are generally high in organic content and better in organic type than ordinary ones, and vice versa. 展开更多

The Upper Carboniferous in northern Xinjiang, China was formed in a post-collisional depression and collapsed structural setting. Within the Upper Carboniferous, volcanic rocks and source rocks alternate over a wide region. At the end of the Carboniferous, these layers were uplifted by plate collisions and subsequently weathered and leached. Volcanic weathering and leaching led to the establishment of weathered crusts that can be divided into five layers. Corrosion and crumble zones in these layers form favorable reservoirs. Volcanic weathering crust formed in sub-aerially exposed paleogeomorphic areas; the five relatively continuous layers are generally preserved in paleogeomorphic lowland and slope regions, but the upper soil layer is usually absent in structurally higher parts of the rock record. The thickness of the weathered layer has a positive nonlinear ex- ponential relationship to the duration of weathering and leaching, and the dynamic equilibrium time of weathered crust is about 36.3 Ma. The thickest weathered layer (~450 m) is located in fracture zones. Weathered crusts are possible from a range of volcanic rocks with different lithologies, given sufficient time for weathering and leaching. The combination of volcanic weathered crust and source rocks results in three types of hydrocarbon accumulation models: (1) sequences of volcanic weathered crust interbedded with source rocks, (2) a quasi-layered weathered volcanic core located above source rocks, and (3) volcanic rocks associated with pectinate unconformities adjacent to source rocks. Each of these three types has the potential to form a giant stratigraphic reservoir of volcanic weathered crust. This knowledge has changed the traditional exploration model of searching for favorable lithologic and lithofacies zones in volcanic rocks, and has changed the viewpoint that the Carboniferous does not have the genetic potential to be the basement of the basin in northern Xinjiang. The concepts developed here are of great scientific significance and application for focusing oil and gas exploration on volcanic weathered crust. As such, the Paleozoic volcanic weathered crust in the midwestern part of China may possibly contain large-scale stratigraphic reservoirs and thus could be a new oil and gas exploration target in the future. 展开更多

It is shown that the Ertaibei pluton experienced two stages of isotopic exchanges. The second stage of18O/16O and D/H exchanges with meteoric water brought about a marked decrease in the δ18O values of feldspar and biotite from the second group of samples. The D/H of biotite exhibits a higher sensitivity to the meteoric water alteration than its18O/16O. However, the first stage of18O/16O exchange with the18O-rich aqueous fluid derived from the dehydration within the deep crust caused the Δ18OQuartz-Feldspar reversal. It is inferred that the dehydration-melting may have been an important mechanism for anatexis. It is shown that the deep fluid encircled the Ertaibei pluton like an envelope which serves as an effective screen to the surface waters. 展开更多

With a whole-rock Rb-Sr isochron age of 315.7 Ma. itis considered to be of middle Heicynian age. The granitoids have a SiO_2 content of 48-78%, a calc-alkali indexof 60 and silica-alkali indices ρ=2.2-2.4 and σ=1.5-2. From basic to acid compositions, the total REE con-tent increases from 38 to 143 ppm. δEu ranges from 0.47 to 0.86 and the Eu anomalies are negative. Thenormalized curves of REE of various rock types are very similar. These coupled with the characteristics of traceelement geochemistry show that the intrusion is an island arc-continental margin, calc-alkaline one. Theδ^(18)O values range from 5.8 to 8.9‰ and the ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr initial ratio is 0.705. The materials of the intrusion arecomposed of a mixture of the magmas at the top of the upper mantle and in the lower crust, This indicates thatthe rocks might be consanguineous. differentiated and evolved products and possess the characteristics of Ⅰtype granites. 展开更多

利用NCEP/NCAR再分析资料,主要运用HYSPLIT(拉格朗日后向轨迹)方法模拟追踪了1980-2020年冬季新疆北部27次暖区暴雪天气水汽特征,分析不同源地水汽源-汇关系及其对暴雪的贡献。结果表明,500 hPa主要水汽源地为格陵兰岛和大西洋及其沿岸... 利用NCEP/NCAR再分析资料,主要运用HYSPLIT(拉格朗日后向轨迹)方法模拟追踪了1980-2020年冬季新疆北部27次暖区暴雪天气水汽特征,分析不同源地水汽源-汇关系及其对暴雪的贡献。结果表明,500 hPa主要水汽源地为格陵兰岛和大西洋及其沿岸、地中海和黑海及其附近,对阿勒泰地区暴雪贡献最大的水汽源头是大西洋及其沿岸附近,塔额盆地为地中海和黑海及其附近,沿途损失均较大;700 hPa主要为北欧、大西洋及其沿岸附近、地中海和黑海及其附近,对阿勒泰地区暴雪贡献最大的是地中海和黑海及其附近,塔额盆地是北欧,沿途损失最大前者是地中海和黑海及其附近,后者为大西洋及其沿岸;850 hPa上主要为中亚、地中海和黑海及其附近,前者对暴雪的贡献最大,到达暴雪区后增加较多。各源地水汽随西风气流达到关键区后,主要从偏西(西南)和西北两条路径输入暴雪区,前者占主导地位;对流层低层阿勒泰地区较塔额盆地水汽源地和路径更复杂。基于上述分析,构建了暖区暴雪水汽来源及路径的贡献模型,对阿勒泰地区、塔额盆地各层水汽贡献进行了细致的描述。 展开更多

【目的】前山带是天山北坡山地-绿洲-荒漠生态系统的重要组成部分,探讨植物对干旱胁迫的动态生理适应性和抗旱性评价方法,筛选植被恢复的适宜树种,对该区域植被生态恢复具有重要意义。【方法】以新疆天山北坡前山带种植的12种植物为研... 【目的】前山带是天山北坡山地-绿洲-荒漠生态系统的重要组成部分,探讨植物对干旱胁迫的动态生理适应性和抗旱性评价方法,筛选植被恢复的适宜树种,对该区域植被生态恢复具有重要意义。【方法】以新疆天山北坡前山带种植的12种植物为研究对象,观测灌水后土壤水分时空变化,分析干旱和复水对植物光合和抗逆生理指标的影响,采用主成分分析评价12种植物的抗旱能力。【结果】(1)干旱胁迫后,土壤水分散失在0-20 cm层最快,20-40 cm层次之,40-60 cm层最慢,不同植物采用不同策略改变生长情况来适应干旱;(2)干旱胁迫后,叶片净光合速率(P_(n))、气孔导度(G_(s))、蒸腾速率(T_(r))、胞间CO_(2)浓度(C_(i))、PSⅡ潜在活性(F_(v)/F_(o))、PSⅡ最大光化学效率(F_(v)/F_(m))、电子传递速率(ETR)和叶绿素含量降低,而抗逆生理指标超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)活性、脯氨酸含量、丙二醛(MDA)含量及非光化学淬灭系数(qN)升高,复水后各指标都有一定程度的恢复,但均未达到初始水平;(3)主成分分析结果显示,Pn、叶绿素含量、ETR和MDA含量等指标贡献率较大,梭梭、柽柳、刺蔷薇和柠条锦鸡儿抗旱性较强,‘中亚沙棘’、‘新棘5号’、‘新棘1号’和山杏次之,而‘新棘4号’、‘新棘3号’、文冠果和‘新棘2号’较弱。【结论】Pn、叶绿素含量、ETR和MDA含量可作为评价植物适应干旱的重要指标;新疆天山北坡前山带植被生态恢复应优先选择梭梭、柽柳、刺蔷薇及柠条锦鸡儿进行建植。 展开更多

选取北疆绿洲农业区11个气象站1961—2020年的数据,按月尺度计算降水距平百分率(PA)、标准化降水指数(SPI)、标准化降水蒸散指数(SPEI)、K指数和气象干旱综合指数(MCI)5种干旱指数,通过比较这些指数的相关性、不同等级的干旱发生频率以... 选取北疆绿洲农业区11个气象站1961—2020年的数据,按月尺度计算降水距平百分率(PA)、标准化降水指数(SPI)、标准化降水蒸散指数(SPEI)、K指数和气象干旱综合指数(MCI)5种干旱指数,通过比较这些指数的相关性、不同等级的干旱发生频率以及在典型干旱年份的识别能力,分析各指数在该区域的适用性。结果表明,PA和SPI对降水亏缺有敏感的反应,但对温度的关联较弱,未充分考虑增温对干旱的影响;MCI与温度和降水的关联均较弱,倾向于低估重旱和特旱;SPEI和K指数与温度和降水均有较好的关联,但K指数过多地报告中度至重度干旱,而SPEI则全面考虑了温度和降水对干旱的综合影响,其结果更符合实际情况。由于SPEI计算蒸散发采用的Thornthwaite方法可能高估了温度对干旱的影响,在降水显著偏少、温度偏差较小的情况下,SPI的监测结果可能比SPEI更为严重,因此,建议结合SPI使用,以弥补这一不足。 展开更多

气象干旱指数是衡量农业干旱程度的指标之一。选取降水距平百分率PA、标准化降水指数SPI、标准化降水蒸散指数SPEI,通过SPI和SPEI构建的新标准化降水蒸散指数nSPEI 4种气象干旱指数,利用北疆绿洲农业区1961—2020年的气象数据,进行相关... 气象干旱指数是衡量农业干旱程度的指标之一。选取降水距平百分率PA、标准化降水指数SPI、标准化降水蒸散指数SPEI,通过SPI和SPEI构建的新标准化降水蒸散指数nSPEI 4种气象干旱指数,利用北疆绿洲农业区1961—2020年的气象数据,进行相关性、回归拟合、不同等级干旱频率分布分析,选出符合实际的干旱指数,进而分析研究区的气象干旱变化特征。结果表明:(1)PA的干旱标准低估了干旱程度,SPI对温度上升引起的干旱加剧不敏感,SPEI计算蒸散发选用的Thornthwaite方法会高估温度对干旱的影响,nSPEI克服了SPI和SPEI的不足,对研究区的适用性最优。(2)近60年,研究区气象干旱随时间呈波动性变化特征。进入21世纪以来,春、夏季表现为湿—干变化,秋季表现为弱的干—湿变化;春、夏季干旱由弱增强、秋季略减弱;以全局性干旱为主,春季局域性干旱增多,夏、秋季局域性干旱减少;春季特旱多,夏季重旱多。 展开更多
