Practical Exploration of Strengthening Team Communication and Cooperation in Head Nurse Nursing Management

This study explores the practical application of nursing management led by head nurses to enhance team communication and collaboration within clinical settings.By integrating leadership theories with nursing practice,this research adopts a qualitative methodology to examine the effects of strategic communication and teamwork enhancement initiatives.Through interviews,observations,and the analysis of case studies in various hospital departments,the study identifies key barriers to effective team communication and collaboration,including hierarchical structures,lack of standardized communication protocols,and insufficient training.Solutions implemented involve targeted communication skills training,the establishment of interdisciplinary teamwork protocols,and leadership workshops for head nurses.The outcomes indicate significant improvements in team efficiency,patient care quality,and staff satisfaction.This research underscores the importance of head nurses in fostering an environment conducive to open communication and collaborative practice,thereby advancing patient care and team performance.

Nursing team management and construction from the perspective of psychological contract

The psychological contract is a set of personal beliefs about the reciprocal obligations and rights established in an exchange relationship,and high-level fulfillment of psychological contract helps the development of a team.This study summarizes the concept and theoretical basis of psychological contract,the influencing factors and intervention status of nurse psychological contract,and constructs a psychological contract intervention model to provide reference and reference for better construction and management of nursing teams.

Construction and Application of An Interdisciplinary Team Teaching Model for Foreign-Related Nursing English in Higher Vocational Colleges from the Perspective of Ecolinguistics

Under the background of globalization,there are severe challenges in the cultivation of the professional skills of nursing staff,especially the English skills of foreign-related nursing,which has become an important part of the training of nursing talents.At present,most English teaching of foreign-related nursing in higher vocational colleges follows the traditional grammar teaching model.However,as most of the teaching staff for medical English are English teachers who have limited nursing professional knowledge,the industry characteristics of medical English are not fully demonstrated in the teaching process,and the lack of practicality inevitably reduces the quality of medical English teaching.Therefore,the traditional nursing English teaching model in higher vocational colleges can no longer meet the actual teaching needs.There is an urgent need to implement an interdisciplinary team teaching model that completely fits the industry environment of foreign-related nursing English and apply it flexibly to improve the quality of foreign-related nursing English teaching in higher vocational colleges,and lay a solid foundation for professional practice of nursing staff.Based on the perspective of ecolinguistics,this article explores the application strategies of the interdisciplinary team teaching model for foreign-related nursing English in higher vocational colleges,with the view to provide guidelines for the actual teaching of foreign-related nursing English.

Measuring the influence of a mutual support educational intervention within a nursing team

Background:Teamwork is essential to provide the highest quality of care for patients.Feeling supported within a nursing unit is a significant factor in nursing satisfaction,intention to remain in the job,and the capacity to provide safe patient care by Aiken et al[1].Purpose:This study examined mutual support among a nursing team to measure the influence of an educational intervention focusing on Mutual Support from the Team STEPPS curriculum by Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality,AHRQ[2].Methods:The study design used a Likert scale survey,the Nursing Teamwork Survey,before and following an education intervention adapted from the Team STEPPS curriculum on Mutual Support.Demographic data from the 41 participants were analyzed for impact on educational background,roles and responsibilities,age,and other factors.Results:Pre-Post education intervention results varied among the survey items,although scores demonstrated heightened awareness of teamwork following the educational intervention.The subscale of Backup illustrated the strongest improvement.Conclusion:The study demonstrates that education can have an impact on perceptions and awareness of mutual support among nursing team members.The survey instrument can be used effectively to inform leadership areas for improvement and staff development in the effort to improve team coordination and mutual support.

Application of the Modality of Multiple Disciplinary Team for a Perioperative Patient with Suspected Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia and Cervical Spine Fracture in Nursing

With the explosive spread of novel coronavirus pneumonia, a major public major public health emergency has been declared around the world. Our country has come to a crucial stage of “external defense input, internal defense rebound” and strict quarantine measures are taken in all ports of entry throughout the country. Operations on patients with cervical spine during the quarantine, which not only increases the risk of surgical treatment, but also increases the difficulty of perioperative nursing. The objective is to explore the result of application of the modality of multiple disciplinary team for a perioperative patient with suspected novel coronavirus pneumonia and cervical spine fracture in nursing. The patient’s condition and nursing measures are studied and discussed from various specialist angle through the multidisciplinary team established by the isolation ward, orthopedics department, emergency department, anesthesiology department, operating room, rehabilitation department, psychology department and so on, and the overall and personalized surgical and nursing planning is formed through interdisciplinary advice. The nursing experience is summarized in this paper.

Benefits of multidisciplinary collaborative care team-based nursing services in treating pressure injury wounds in cerebral infarction patients

BACKGROUND Cerebral infarction patients need to be bedridden for long periods of time often resulting in pressure injuries,which may represent a serious threat to patients'life and health.An effective nursing program should be adopted for timely intervention in patients with pressure wounds.AIM To explore the value of nursing services based on a multidisciplinary collaborative treatment team in patients with pressure injury wounds following cerebral infarction.METHODS Patients with cerebral infarction pressure injury wounds in our hospital from December 2016 to January 2021 were selected and divided into one study group and one control group based on the simple random number table method.The control group was treated with conventional nursing care(CNC),and the study group was treated with care services based on multidisciplinary collaborative care(MDCC).The Pressure Ulcer Scale for Healing(PUSH),healing effect,Self-Perceived Burden Score(SPBS),and satisfaction with the intervention were calculated before and after 2 and 4 wk of intervention in both groups.RESULTS Sixty-two patients were enrolled,and 31 patients were assigned to each group.The results of the interventions were as follows:(1)There was no significant difference between the PUSH scores of the MDCC group(11.19±2.46)and CNC group(12.01±2.79)before the intervention(P>0.05),and the PUSH scores were lower after 2 and 4 wk of intervention in the MDCC group(6.63±1.97 and 3.11±1.04)than in the CNC group(8.78±2.13 and 4.96±1.35 points)(P<0.05);(2)The rate of wound healing in the MDCC group(96.77%)was higher than that in the CNC group(80.65%)(P<0.05);(3)There was no significant difference between the SPBS scores of emotional factors(21.15±3.11),economic factors(9.88±2.15),and physical factors(8.19±2.23)in the two groups before the intervention.The scores of emotional factors(13.51±1.88),economic factors(6.38±1.44),and physical factors(5.37±1.08)were lower in the MDCC group than in the CNC group(16.89±2.05,7.99±1.68 and 7.06±1.19)after 4 wk of intervention(P<0.05);and(4)Satisfaction with the intervention was higher in the MDCC group(93.55%)than in the CNC group(74.19%)(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Interventions for patients with cerebral infarction pressure wounds based on an MDCC treatment team can effectively reduce patients'self-perceived burden,improve pressure wound conditions,facilitate wound healing,and increase patient satisfaction with the intervention.

Interprofessional Team-Based Learning: A Revealing Process for Cultivating Professional Identity among Nursing Students

Background: Nurses are significant healthcare team members. It is vital to examine their gains in an interprofessional education (IPE). Purpose: We aimed to examine the perceived benefits of interprofessional team-based learning (IPTBL) on the entry level nursing students. Methods: Content analysis was adopted to identify categories in the reflections of the entry-level undergraduate nursing student IPTBL experiences. Results: There were 205 (male = 34) undergraduate nursing students (response rate 82.2%) participating in the present study. In line with the Interprofessional Education Collaborative Report (IPEC) core competencies, four categories were identified: 1) Values/Ethics for Interprofessional Practice, 2) Roles/Responsibilities, 3) Interprofessional Communication, and 4) Teams and Teamwork. A new category emerged—individual learning outcomes. Conclusion: Through IP interactions and the expectation of the IP team, the nursing students had built confidence and defined the nurses’ roles.

Association of spiritual well-being with quality of life among undergraduate nursing students

Objective:The study was conducted with the aim of determining the spiritual well-being(SWB)of nursing students and its association with quality of life(QOL).Materials and Methods:A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted with a sample size of 504 nursing students collected from January 2023 to March 2023 in the nursing institutes of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,Pakistan,using convenient sampling techniques.A Spiritual Health and Life-Orientation Measure(SHALOM)questionnaire for SWB and K-27 QOL(K-27 QOL)instrument were used for data collection that contains three parts.Results:The number of female participants was in the majority(50.4%)compared to male nurses(49.6%).The overall mean score of SWB of the students was 3.79±0.48,while the mean K-27 QOL score was 3.73±0.57.There were significant differences between the groups of gender(P=0.001),while no significant difference within the groups of semester(P=0.061)and college status(0.285).In QOL,there were significant differences within the groups of semester(P=0.000)and college status(P=0.036)while no significant difference in gender category(P=0.480).SHALOM score is positively and moderately correlated with QOL score(r=0.597,P<0.05).Conclusion:Spiritual practices are one of the important factors that are associated positively with QOL,therefore to enhance the QOL,it will require spiritual practices.

Cardiovascular Risk Assessment in the Nursing Team of a Cardiology Hospital

Objective: Cardiovascular diseases are the most common causes of morbidity and the leading cause of mortality in the world scenario, accounting for about 20% of all deaths in individuals over 30 years. It has attributed this to the increase in the company’s exposure to risk factors. It identifies cardiovascular risk factors in the nursing team and compares the cardiovascular risk by Framingham score among professionals of middle and upper working in a referral hospital in cardiology. Method: Cross-sectional quantitative study was conducted in 2014, in a reference hospital in cardiology located in Recife/Pernambuco, Brazil. Data of cardiologic risk factors were collected from 82 nursing team members, comprised of technical, auxiliary nurses, and nurses between 30 and 74 years of age. The cardiovascular risk level was evaluated by the Framingham Score. Data were organized and analyzed by means of the SPSS, with descriptive statistics and Student-t test for the continuous variables. Results: Family history, stress and sedentary life style were the prevalent risk factors in more than half of the professionals. Only 5.23% of the technical and auxiliary nurses had a high risk score for cardiovascular event. Conclusion: The data indicates a low cardiovascular risk for these professionals and the presence of risk factors that can be modified. Health surveillance of these professionals is necessary in order to avoid a change to a risk of greater vulnerability.

Nursing Strategy for Multidisciplinary Team Comprehensively Treating Three Children with Fulminant Myocarditis

[Objectives]To explore nursing strategy for comprehensive treatment of children with fulminant myocarditis by multidisciplinary team(MDT),and clarify the nursing emphasis and difficulties in the treatment of fulminant myocarditis in children.[Methods]Retrospective analysis was made on three cases of fulminant myocarditis in children treated in Taihe Hospital of Shiyan City from January 2021 to January 2022.The different clinical characteristics and treatment plans were analyzed and compared,and the nursing emphasis and difficulties in comprehensive treatment of fulminant myocarditis in children were discussed.[Results]The minimum age of three children with fulminant myocarditis was 11 days old,and the remaining two children were 9-12 years old.All three children were successfully treated,in which two cases were treated with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO)combining with mechanical ventilation(MV),including one case of neonatal explosive myocarditis.One case was treated with temporary cardiac pacing implantation.The psychological counseling and nursing of children with fulminant myocarditis and their guardians were also critical to the successful treatment and good prognosis of the disease.[Conclusions]The condition of fulminant myocarditis in children is dangerous,and it should closely observe the changes of the illness condition.The key to successful treatment is to start a comprehensive treatment plan based on life support as early as possible.The key point of nursing is to closely assist in observing the condition at the early stage,assist in maintaining and operation during advanced life support period,and avoid complications.At the same time,strengthening the psychological care of pediatric patients and guardians and health education after leaving hospital are the key and difficult points of nursing.

Application Progress of Teaching in the Form of Traffic Short Videos in Nursing Education

With the rapid development of the information technology era,the teaching quality requirements continue to surge,and the mode of education in colleges and universities has also carried out certain innovations.The integration of modern information technology into the teaching process and the combination of medical content has become a new hotspot for reform and innovation of medical education at home and abroad.In this paper,we will describe the application of traffic short videos as the main teaching form in nursing education in domestic and foreign studies,and the role of the application of this teaching form in the improvement of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills of nursing students,as well as the impact on the cultivation of nursing students’professional cognition,communication skills,critical thinking,etc.,with the aim of providing new perspectives for the subsequent nursing education.

Importance of teamwork communication in nursing practice

Dear editor:In today’s healthcare system,the delivery process includes many interfaces and patient handouts between several health professionals with further education and professional training levels.As a health care science,nursing focuses on serving the needs of humans as biopsychosocial and spiritual beings.Its practice requires scientific knowledge and interpersonal,intellectual,and technical abilities and skills.This means a composition of knowledge,clinical work,and interpersonal communication.Communication is an essential element of nursing in all fields of activity,including prevention,treatment,therapy,rehabilitation,education,and health promotion.Moreover,the nursing process as a scientific method of exercise and implementation of nursing is achieved through dialogue,interpersonal environment,and specific verbal communication skills.

基于TeamSTEPPS的出院准备联动干预在老年缺血性卒中患者中的应用

目的探讨基于Team STEPPS的出院准备联动干预在老年缺血性卒中患者中的应用。方法选取2022年10月—2023年9月在安徽医科大学附属巢湖医院神经内科住院的106例老年缺血性卒中患者为研究对象,按入院时间将2022年10月—2023年3月入院的51例患者作为对照组,予以常规出院护理及随访;2023年4月—2023年9月入院的55例患者为干预组,实施基于Team STEPPS的出院准备联动干预。比较两组患者的出院准备度、主要照顾者过渡期的准备情况以及出院90 d患者日常生活活动能力、不良事件发生及非计划再入院情况。结果干预组患者出院准备度评估量表总分及4个维度得分、主要照顾者过渡期准备情况评估量表总分及8个维度得分均高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P均<0.01)。干预组患者出院90 d日常生活活动能力评分为55(40,65)分,高于对照组的40(20,55)分,差异有统计学意义(P<0.01)。干预组患者出院90 d发生跌倒/坠床2例、压力性损伤3例、非计划性拔管4例,均低于对照组的8、10、11例,差异有统计学意义(P均<0.05)。干预组患者出院90 d非计划再入院2例,少于对照组的8例,差异有统计学意义(P=0.046)。结论基于Team STEPPS的出院准备联动干预可提升老年缺血性卒中患者出院准备度,改善主要照顾者过渡期的准备情况,提高患者出院90 d后日常生活活动能力,降低不良事件发生及非计划再入院,为老年缺血性卒中患者出院准备提供一定的临床依据。

Challenges of Bioethics Education in Pediatric Basic Nursing Education: A Faculty Perspective

In the field of pediatric nursing, in the perinatal period, numerous ethical issues arise alongside the advancement of medical technology. However, sufficient education on bioethics is not provided in the pediatric nursing domain of basic nursing education. The purpose of this research is to examine the current status of bioethics education in the pediatric nursing domain of basic nursing education and explore the challenges perceived by the pediatric nursing faculty regarding bioethics education. The research method was a questionnaire survey on 100 randomly selected pediatric nursing faculty members from nursing universities across Japan. The results revealed that although bioethics issues were considered important, the emphasis remained primarily on addressing bioethics as part of nursing that respects children’s rights. Furthermore, respondents expressed difficulties regarding teaching methods and content related to bioethics.

The Promoting Role of TCM Nursing in the Rehabilitation of Stroke Hemiplegia Patients

Objective: To explore the promoting function of TCM nursing in the rehabilitation of hemiplegia patients with stroke. Methods: 78 stroke hemiplegic patients admitted from April 2022 to April 2024 were randomly divided into a control group of 38 cases who received routine care, and an experimental group of 40 cases who received routine nursing basis plus traditional Chinese medicine nursing;the nursing effects of the two groups of patients were compared. Results: After 12 days of nursing care, the experimental group showed better psychological status [SAS score (21.71 ± 3.21), SDS score (22.18 ± 2.31)], limb motor function, daily living ability, and neurological function [NIHSS score (12.23 ± 2.21)] than the control group, with significant differences in data (P Conclusion: Traditional Chinese medicine nursing for stroke hemiplegia patients is more conducive to promoting rehabilitation than routine nursing.

The Impact of Simulation Education on Self-Efficacy in Pre-Registration Nursing Students

This literature review primarily aims to explore and synthesise the previous studies in simulation education research conducted over the past five years related to the effects of simulation training on the self-efficacy of undergraduate pre-registration nursing students. The second aim of this study is to explore additional outcome variables that were examined in the previous studies. Five electronic databases were searched systematically. These databases were MEDLINE, CINAHL Plus, Scopus, Embase and PsycINFO. The PICO model was employed to identify the search terms, with a thesaurus being used to provide synonyms. Reference lists of relevant articles were examined and hand searches of journals were also undertaken. The quality of each study was assessed using the Simulation Research Rubric (SRR). A total of 11 studies were included. All studies explored the impact of simulation education on undergraduate pre-registration nursing. Six studies explored nursing students’ competence and performance and two papers examined their critical thinking. Problem solving, learning motivation, communication skills and knowledge acquisition were examined once. The majority of studies indicated that simulation training has a positive impact on pre-registration nursing students’ self-efficacy and other outcome variables. Furthermore, the study results indicate that simulation training is more dependable than traditional training, and students were extremely satisfied with the simulation training. However, most of the studies included in this review had several gaps, including study design, sample size and dissimilarities between the scales used. Further research with large samples, reliable and valid instruments, and outcomes measures (such as critical thinking and transferability of skills) is required to provide better insight into the effectiveness of simulation in undergraduate nursing education. .

Optimization of nursing interventions for postoperative mental status recovery in patients with cerebral hemorrhage

BACKGROUND Hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage(HCH),the most common chronic diseases,has become a topic of global public health discussions.AIM To investigate the role of rehabilitative nursing interventions in optimizing the postoperative mental status recovery phase and to provide clinical value for future rehabilitation of patients with HCH.METHODS This randomized controlled study included 120 patients with cerebral HCH who were contained to our neurosurgery department between May 2021–May 2023 as the participants.The participants have randomly sampled and grouped into the observation and control groups.The observation group received the rehabilitation nursing model,whereas the control group have given conventional nursing.The conscious state of the patients was assessed at 7,14,21,and 30 d postoperatively.After one month of care,sleep quality,anxiety,and depression were compared between the two groups.Patient and family satisfaction were assessed using a nursing care model.RESULTS The results showed that the state of consciousness scores of the patients in both groups significantly increased(P<0.05)after surgical treatment.From the 14th day onwards,differences in the state of consciousness scores between the two groups of patients began to appear(P<0.05).After one month of care,the sleep quality,anxiety state,and depression state of patients were significantly better in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).Satisfaction with nursing care was higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The rehabilitation nursing model has a more complete system compared to conventional nursing,which can effectively improve the postoperative quality of life of patients with cerebral hemorrhage and improve the efficiency of mental state recovery;however,further analysis and research are needed to provide more scientific evidence.

Preparedness training programs improved the emergency response and crucial outcomes among nursing students:a scoping review

Objective:The study aims to review and discuss the outcomes of emergency preparedness training programs among nursing students.Methods:A scoping review was conducted based on the guidelines of Arskey and O’Malley.Databases through PubMed,Science Direct,and Google Scholar were used to obtain the relevant articles within the scoping review.Results:The researchers found 1175 articles.After manual review,28 articles were identified and assessed.The review reported that the emergency preparedness training program significantly affects preparedness,knowledge,performance,self-efficacy,learning motivation,self-confidence,satisfaction,critical decision-making,and problem-solving.Conclusions:Emergency training effectively increases knowledge,skills,confidence,satisfaction,and team performance.

Core competencies and perceived training needs of nurses in the background of Internet plus nursing service:a qualitative descriptive study

Background:The Internet plus nursing service program is being piloted in China,which has become a new home nursing service model led by nurses.To enable safe and effective homecare service delivery,nurses working in the program need a high level of competency.However,the content of these core competencies and the training needs of nurses for Internet plus nursing services are still unknown.Aim:To describe nurses’perceptions of core competencies and training needs to work in the Internet plus nursing service program,thereby providing a reference for the development of training programs.Methods:A qualitative descriptive study using semi-structured interviews was conducted on 15 nurses with experience of working in the Internet plus nursing service program.Interviews were audio-recorded and transcribed verbatim,and the data were analyzed using thematic analysis.Results:Core competencies involved comprehensive assessment competence,direct care practice competence,health education and consulting competence,risk estimation and response competence,and communication competence.Training needs involved complex operational items,knowledge of chronic disease management,professional communication,risk identification and response,nursing standards,norms,and procedures,and utilization of information technology.Conclusions:The training system may be developed based on nurses’core competencies and their training needs to promote professional development of the Internet plus nursing service.

Analysis of The Use of Implicit Nursing Knowledge in The Teaching of Cardiovascular Internal Medicine Nursing

Objective: To explore the utilization of implicit nursing knowledge in the teaching of cardiovascular internal medicine nursing and to provide a reference for improving the quality and efficiency of cardiovascular internal medicine nursing work. Methods: Thirty-six trainee nurses working in the cardiovascular internal medicine department of our hospital from September 2022 to September 2023 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group of 18 trainees each. The control adopted the traditional teaching methods while the observation group adopted the implicit nursing knowledge in their clinical practice work. The assessment scores and teamwork ability of the two groups were analyzed and compared. Results: The performance of the observation group was better than that of the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The teamwork ability of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group in teamwork ability (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Implicit nursing knowledge teaching is conducive to the cultivation of high-quality nursing talents and meets the development needs of hospitals. Therefore, the importance of implicit nursing knowledge should be strengthened in the teaching of cardiovascular internal medicine nursing and it should be comprehensively organized to improve the quality of nursing services.
