Throughout the globe,diabetes mellitus(DM) is increasing in incidence with limited therapies presently available to prevent or resolve the significant complications of this disorder.DM impacts multiple organs and affects all components of the central and peripheral nervous systems that can range from dementia to diabetic neuropathy.The mechanistic target of rapamycin(m TOR) is a promising agent for the development of novel regenerative strategies for the treatment of DM.m TOR and its related signaling pathways impact multiple metabolic parameters that include cellular metabolic homeostasis,insulin resistance,insulin secretion,stem cell proliferation and differentiation,pancreatic β-cell function,and programmed cell death with apoptosis and autophagy.m TOR is central element for the protein complexes m TOR Complex 1(m TORC1) and m TOR Complex 2(m TORC2) and is a critical component for a number of signaling pathways that involve phosphoinositide 3-kinase(PI 3-K),protein kinase B(Akt),AMP activated protein kinase(AMPK),silent mating type information regulation 2 homolog 1(Saccharomyces cerevisiae)(SIRT1),Wnt1 inducible signaling pathway protein 1(WISP1),and growth factors.As a result,m TOR represents an exciting target to offer new clinical avenues for the treatment of DM and the complications of this disease.Future studies directed to elucidate the delicate balance m TOR holds over cellular metabolism and the impact of its broad signaling pathways should foster the translation of these targets into effective clinical regimens for DM. 展开更多

目的 为掌握肠出血性大肠埃希菌O15 7在东台市家禽、家畜中的带菌,腹泻病人中的感染和自来水厂水源水中的污染情况。方法 2 0 0 0 -2 0 0 2年,分别在流行季节采集家禽、家畜和腹泻病人粪便及自来水厂水源水,应用免疫磁珠浓集、山梨醇... 目的 为掌握肠出血性大肠埃希菌O15 7在东台市家禽、家畜中的带菌,腹泻病人中的感染和自来水厂水源水中的污染情况。方法 2 0 0 0 -2 0 0 2年,分别在流行季节采集家禽、家畜和腹泻病人粪便及自来水厂水源水,应用免疫磁珠浓集、山梨醇麦康凯平板分离、生化和血清学反应进行鉴定。结果 3年间东台市采集的6种动物粪便有4种中检出肠出血性大肠埃希菌O15 7,其阳性率牛为11 .3 2 %、羊为10 . 5 8%、猪为9. 3 5 %、鸡为7 .73 %。腹泻病人的阳性率为1 .5 7%。采集的178份自来水厂水源水、60只苍蝇标本中均未分离出肠出血性大肠埃希菌O15 7。3株自动物粪便分离株具有至少2种混合型毒力基因。75株肠出血性大肠埃希菌O15 7菌株对15种抗生素存在不同的耐药率。结论 东台市家禽、家畜和腹泻病人中存在肠出血性大肠埃希菌O15 7感染,且存在流行的潜在危险。 展开更多

LiCoO2 gradient coated LiNi0.96Co0.04O2 material and iso-structure LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 material (the same molar ratio 8/2 of Ni/Co in the two materials) as cathode for lithium-ion batteries were synthesized with a co-precipitation method. Microstructure of iso-structure LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 were about the same as that of LiNiO2, and the structure of the coated material was much more similar to that of LiCoO2 based on the X-ray diffraction patterns. The cycling voltammetry and galvanostatic cycle tests show that the properties of the coated material were improved significantly. The first specific charge and discharge capacity for the coated material was 249.20 mAh·g-1 and 207.90 mAh·g-1 respectively, and the specific discharge capacity for the 100th cycle was still 186.02 mAh·g-1 with an irreversible loss of only 21.1 mAh·g-1. This showed that the new material had a good lithium intercalation-deintrercalation performance. Meanwhile, the mechanism of the sintering reaction was proposed. During the sintering reaction of the precursor with LiOH, the Li+-ion permeated into the body of precursors because the shape of the precursor particles was not changed basically based on scanning electronic microscopy. So, the layer microstructure of the precursor is important for the layer microstructure of lithium nickel cobalt oxides electrode material. 展开更多

The 1951 San Francisco Peace Treaty was the one and only international opportunity that would have allowed demanding for Japan’s responsibility of the colonization of Korea.However,the United States did not demand of such to be done.Soon,Korea and Japan resumed their diplomatic relationship and had their first summit in 1952.After numerous negotiations,finally in 1965,the“Korea-Japan Treaty”was agreed upon.Even in this treaty,the interpretation of the colonization was different for both countries and ultimately resulted as an unresolved issue.This is because of the Japanese dependence to the San Francisco Peace Treaty.On the other hand,the League of Nations,founded in 1920,believed that the systematization of international law was vital to keeping international peace.Therefore,they put much effort in and successfully carried out the codification of international law.The“Report on the law of Treaties”which was completed in 1935,noted that the“1905 Protectorate Treaty”,which was the ultimate treaty that led to Korea being annexed by the Japanese,was one of the three treaties that had no effective standing.This decision was carried out to the International Law Commission of the United Nations in 1963 and became a Resolution after being submitted to the General Assembly in the end of the same year.Using the decisions of the League of Nations and the United Nations as evidence,this paper critically reviews the San Francisco Peace Treaty’s lack of reviewing the Japanese responsibility of the colonization of Korea. 展开更多

Influence of Reactive Volatile Organic Compounds on Ozone Production in Houston-Galveston-Brazoria Area

Source of emissions is one of the factors. In south east Texas, Houston-Galveston-Brazoria (HGB) is a marginal non-attainment area for ozone (O3). A summer episode of May 28 to July 2, 2006 is simulated using Comprehensive Air Quality Model with extensions (CAMx). During this period O3 concentration in HGB often exceeds the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) 0.075 ppm of average 8 hour O3 concentration. HGB area has numerous point sources. Various studies found that some specific volatile organic compounds are very reactive in atmosphere. The objective of this study is to analyze the influence of volatile organic compounds present in point source emissions on the air quality of HGB area. For this purpose ozone sensitivity for HGB area is analyzed by the ratio of hydrogen peroxides (H2O2) to nitric acid (HNO3). HGB area is found NOx limited but reactive VOCs are found to be influential too. From (1-4 June, 2006) maximum O3 concentration was found on weekend, June 3. VOCs such as Acetaldehyde (ALD2), Formaldehyde (FORM) and Alkane (ETHA) showed good correlation with O3 concentrations on that day. In addition, Peroxyacetyl nitrate (PAN) formation was found correlated to higher ozone production. Criteria pollutant Sulfur dioxide (SO2) was found to influence the ALD2 and ETHA concentrations, and thus indirectly influenced O3 production. 展开更多

O6-methylguanine DNA methyltransferase(MGMT), a DNA repair enzyme, has been reported in some congenital malformations, but it is less frequently reported in neural tube defects. This study investigated MGMT mRNA expression and methylation levels in the early embryo and in different embryonic stages, as well as the relationship between MGMT and neural tube defects. Spina bifida aperta was induced in rats by a single intragastric administration of all-trans retinoic acid on embryonic day(E) 10, whereas normal control rats received the same amount of olive oil on the same embryonic day. DNA damage was assessed by detecting γ-H2 A.X in spina bifida aperta rats. Real time-polymerase chain reaction was used to examine mRNA expression of MGMT in normal control and spina bifida aperta rats. In normal controls, the MGMT mRNA expression decreased with increasing embryonic days, and was remarkably reduced from E11 to E14, reaching a minimum at E18. In the spina bifida aperta model, γ-H2 A.X protein expression was increased, and mRNA expression of MGMT was markedly decreased on E14, E16, and E18. Bisulfite sequencing polymerase chain reaction for MGMT promoter methylation demonstrated that almost all CpG sites in the MGMT promoter remained unmethylated in both spina bifida aperta rats and normal controls, and there was no significant difference in methylation level between the two groups on either E14 or E18. Our results show that DNA damage occurs in spina bifida aperta rats. The mRNA expression of MGMT is downregulated, and this downregulation is independent of promoter DNA methylation. 展开更多

These noncommunicable disease... Cardiovascular disease, nervous system disorders, and cancer in association with other diseases such as diabetes mellitus result in greater than sixty percent of the global annual deaths. These noncommunicable diseases also affect at least one-third of the population in low and middle-income countries and lead to hypertension, elevated cholesterol, malignancy, and neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and stroke. With the climbing lifespan of the world's population, increased prevalence of these disorders is expected requiring the development of new therapeutic strategies against these disabling disease entities. Targeting stem cellproliferation for cardiac disease, vascular disorders, cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders is receiving great enthusiasm, especially those that focus upon SIRT1, a mammalian homologue of the yeast silent information regulator-2. Modulation of the cellular activity of SIRT1 can involve oversight by nicotinamide/nicotinic acid mononucleotide adenylyltransferase, mammalian forkhead transcription factors, mechanistic of rapamycin pathways, and cysteine-rich protein 61, connective tissue growth factor, and nephroblastoma over-expressed gene family members that can impact cytoprotective outcomes. Ultimately, the ability of SIRT1 to control the programmed cell death pathways of apoptosis and autophagy can determine not only cardiac, vascular, and neuronal stem cell development and longevity, but also the onset of tumorigenesis and the resistance against chemotherapy. SIRT1 therefore has a critical role and holds exciting prospects for new therapeutic strategies that can offer reparative processes for cardiac, vascular, and nervous system degenerative disorders as well as targeted control of aberrant cell growth during cancer. 展开更多

Isotopes (<sup>13</sup>C and <sup>18</sup>O) Geochemistry of Lower Triassic Montney Formation, Northeastern British Columbia, Western Canada

Oxygen isotope (δ18O) serves as paleothermometer, and provides paleotemperature for carbonates. δ18O signature was used to estimate the temperature of fractionation of dolomite and calcite in Montney Formation, empirically calculated to have precipitated, between approximately 13°C to ±33°C during Triassic time in northeastern British Columbia, Western Canada Sedimentary Basin (WCSB). Measurements of stable isotopes (δ13C and δ18O) fractionation, supported by quantitative X-ray diffraction evidence, and whole-rock geochemical characterization of the Triassic Montney Formation indicates the presence of calcite, dolomite, magnesium, carbon and other elements. Results from isotopic signature obtained from bulk calcite and bulk dolomite from this study indicates depleted δ13CPDB (-2.18‰ to -8.46‰) and depleted δ18OPDB (-3.54‰ to -16.15‰), which is interpreted in relation to oxidation of organic matter during diagenesis. Diagenetic modification of dolomitized very fine-grained, silty-sandstone of the Montney Formation may have occurred in stages of progressive oxidation and reduction reactions involving chemical elements such as Fe, which manifest in mineral form as pyrite, particularly, during early burial diagenesis. Such mineralogical changes evident in this study from petrography and SEM, includes cementation, authigenic quartz overgrowth and mineral replacement involving calcite and dolomite, which are typical of diagenesis. High concentration of chemical elements in the Montney Formation?-Ca and Mg indicates dolomitization. It is interpreted herein, that calcite may have been precipitated into the interstitial pore space of the intergranular matrix of very fine-grained silty-sandstone of the Montney Formation as cement by a complex mechanism resulting in the interlocking of grains. 展开更多

在DFT-B3LYP/6-311++G**水平上,求得3-硝基-1,2,4-三唑-5-酮(NTO)/NH3和NTO/H2O两种超分子体系势能面上5种全优化构型.经基组叠加误差(BSSE)和零点能(ZPE)校正,求得NTO与NH3和H2O的分子间最大相互作用能依次为-37.58和-30.14kJ/mol,表明... 在DFT-B3LYP/6-311++G**水平上,求得3-硝基-1,2,4-三唑-5-酮(NTO)/NH3和NTO/H2O两种超分子体系势能面上5种全优化构型.经基组叠加误差(BSSE)和零点能(ZPE)校正,求得NTO与NH3和H2O的分子间最大相互作用能依次为-37.58和-30.14kJ/mol,表明NTO与NH3的分子间相互作用强于与H2O的作用.超分子体系中电子均由NH3或H2O向NTO转移,相互作用能主要由强氢键所贡献,由自然键轨道分析揭示了相互作用的本质.对优化构型进行振动分析,并基于统计热力学求得200.0~800.0K温度范围从单体形成超分子的热力学性质变化.发现由NTO和NH3形成超分子II和III在常温下可自发进行;而NTO和H2O只在低温下才能自发形成IV,V和VI超分子. 展开更多

利用热带测雨卫星的测雨雷达 (TRMMPR)的探测结果 ,对 1 997 1 998年ElNin~o后期热带太平洋的降水结构进行了研究 ,并对比了非ElNin~o的 1 999年和 2 0 0 0年的同期降水情况 ,取得如下结果 :( 1 ) 1 997 1 998ElNin~o后期与非ElNin~... 利用热带测雨卫星的测雨雷达 (TRMMPR)的探测结果 ,对 1 997 1 998年ElNin~o后期热带太平洋的降水结构进行了研究 ,并对比了非ElNin~o的 1 999年和 2 0 0 0年的同期降水情况 ,取得如下结果 :( 1 ) 1 997 1 998ElNin~o后期与非ElNin~o期间相比 ,1 997 1 998ElNin~o后期 ,热带东、中太平洋层云降水和对流云降水的比例明显增大、平均降水率也增大 ,并且层云强降水的比例增多 ,而层云弱降水比例减少。 ( 2 )在非ElNin~o期间 ,热带东、中太平洋对流云降水系统较为浅薄 ,冻结层高度比西太平洋低约 0 5km ;而在 1 997 1 998ElNin~o后期 ,这种差异明显减小 ,热带东、中太平洋对流云降水和层云降水都变得深厚 ;对流云降水和层云降水的降水率随高度的变化也发生了变化。 ( 3)对大气环流的分析表明 ,对应于降水结构的变化 ,热带太平洋地区的高空辐合辐散分布也发生了改变 ,导致Walker环流在 1 997 1 998ElNin~o后期减弱。 展开更多

以电熔致密刚玉和碳化硅为骨料,硅铝凝胶粉、氮化硅粉、硅粉为细粉,制成SiAlON增强Al2O3-SiC-C浇注料,研究了硅铝凝胶粉的加入量分别为1%、3%、5%(质量分数,下同)时对此浇注料的烧结性能、力学性能的影响。结果表明:采用硅铝凝胶粉取代... 以电熔致密刚玉和碳化硅为骨料,硅铝凝胶粉、氮化硅粉、硅粉为细粉,制成SiAlON增强Al2O3-SiC-C浇注料,研究了硅铝凝胶粉的加入量分别为1%、3%、5%(质量分数,下同)时对此浇注料的烧结性能、力学性能的影响。结果表明:采用硅铝凝胶粉取代纯铝酸钙水泥作结合剂,可使SiAlON增强Al2O3-SiC-C浇注料在经中温、高温热处理后的常温抗折强度及耐压强度较大提高,中温、高温强度提高幅度更大。另外,随着硅铝凝胶粉加入量的增加,浇注料的常温及高温强度呈先增大而后减小的趋势。由X射线衍射和扫描电镜分析结果可知,硅铝凝胶粉的加入既有利于降低βSiAlON的生成温度,又可以减少材料中的低熔物质。分布均匀、发育良好的粒状βSiAlON的形成是SiAlON增强Al2O3-SiC-C浇注料较水泥结合浇注料强度高的根本原因。 展开更多

针对CO2和O3浓度变化对冬小麦影响,改进了农田生态系统碳氮生物化学模型(DNDC),并利用模型模拟了O3和CO2浓度变化对冬小麦生长发育和产量的影响,检验了模型的模拟效果。通过对原DNDC模型适用性的调整,使之适用于固城站,为进一步改进作... 针对CO2和O3浓度变化对冬小麦影响,改进了农田生态系统碳氮生物化学模型(DNDC),并利用模型模拟了O3和CO2浓度变化对冬小麦生长发育和产量的影响,检验了模型的模拟效果。通过对原DNDC模型适用性的调整,使之适用于固城站,为进一步改进作物模型打下了可靠的基础。通过试验资料验证表明,模型较好地反映了O3和CO2浓度变化对冬小麦生长发育和产量形成的影响。通过敏感性分析得出,模型对温度变化反映灵敏;在CO2浓度倍增情况下,O3浓度变化对冬小麦的复合影响分析看出,一定浓度范围内,CO2可缓解O3对作物影响的负效应,O3对CO2带来的正效应有削弱作用。 展开更多
