This method adopts the grinding chip flow thermal signal, and acquires identification rules by establishing sensitive characteristic parameters and constructing the knowledge system through continuum attribute discretization, attribute reduction and knowledge acquisition, and then monitors grinding burn and wheel wear in accordance with the acquired rules. By the means of electronically controlled switching of a solenoid valve, the main component of the system, the equivalent point of the titration is easily determined. Several kinds of mixing tools were examined, whereby a self made mixing chamber with minimum volume gave best results and was therefore used in the device. The error of the titration is within 0.2% and the relative standard deviation (RSD) is below 1.2%. The results show no difference compared with a commercial device, meanwhile the new on line titration system is cheaper and fully automated and thus easy to hand and less solvent consumption.展开更多

It can measure the effective values of the voltage and the current, the active power, the phase difference of voltage...A measurement system for high power electrical variables with ultrasonic frequency was established. It can measure the effective values of the voltage and the current, the active power, the phase difference of voltage and current, the frequency of the transducer during ultrasonic welding and cutting. In sampling circuits of the system, the measured current is sensed by using a no capacitance and no inductance precision resistor and is treated with a difference amplifier, the measured voltage is processed by using a proportional amplifier. For achieving good amplitude frequency characteristics and rapid measurement of high frequency signals, the resistors, capacitors and amplifiers used in the system are rationally selected. Calibrating experiments show that relative errors are less than 1% for voltage and current effective values and less than 2.5% for active power, and absolute errors are ±1 Hz for frequency and ±1.7° for phase difference of voltage and current in the range of 17~23 kHz .展开更多

A modeling precision based distance measure is proposed ...This paper focuses on a state sharing method for an artificial neural network (ANN) and hidden Markov model (HMM) hybrid on line handwriting recognition system. A modeling precision based distance measure is proposed to describe similarity between two ANNs, which are used as HMM state models. Limiting maximum system performance loss, a minimum quantification error aimed hierarchical clustering algorithm is designed to choose the most representative models. The system performance is improved by about 1.5% while saving 40% of the system expense. About 92% of the performance may also be maintained while reducing 70% of system parameters. The suggested method is quite useful for designing pen based interface for various handheld devices.展开更多

The loop and nodel equations comparing faulted phase to non-faulted phase of two-parallel lines are introduced in the fault location estimation modal, in which the faulted impedance of remote end is not involved. The effect of load flow and fault resistance on the accuracy of fault location are effectively eliminated, therefore an accurate algorithm of locating fault is derived. The algorithm is demonstrated by digital computer simulations and the results show that errors in locating fault are less than 1%.展开更多

If the difference between the estimation and the actural values of the sensor signal exceeded a threshold, the sensor could be declared to have a failure. The choice of the failure detection threshold depends on the noise variance and the possible prediction error of neural predictor. Results and Conclusion\ The computer simulation results show the proposed method can detect sensor failure correctly for a gyro in an automotive engine.展开更多

This study aims to synthesis the spatial straight line mechanisms with only revolute joints, meaning that no prismatic joints are included. According to the generalized function sets and the law of one dimensional rotation, the type of compositions of characteristic and the corresponding conditions are derived. Furthermore, some novel symmetrical and asymmetrical spatial straight line mechanisms are synthesized through assembling specific kinematic chains under the corresponding conditions. This controller integrates all the functions of measuring, controlling, protection, fault diagnosis, communication, remote controlled operation and self power devices with infra red remote control devices as a unit. The controller applies the distributed structure, field concentration line and intelligent technology to seal up the synthetic servomechanisms such as the microcomputer based protection and measuring devices in the second stage of the mini out door transformer substation, which are distributed on the outdoor circuit switches on the spot and formed as a whole. Therefore, this technology can transform a large number of ordinary homemade SF 6 circuit beaker and vacuum circuit breaker into intelligent circuit recloser, thus replacing the expensive imported automatic circuit recolser.展开更多
Beach nourishment is a common coastal management strategy used to protect beach from erosion along the sandy coastlines. This method has been successfully applied to an emergency project at the West Beach of Beidaihe ...Beach nourishment is a common coastal management strategy used to protect beach from erosion along the sandy coastlines. This method has been successfully applied to an emergency project at the West Beach of Beidaihe in the summer of 2008 and the full West Beach nourishment project in 2009-2010, which is the direct base of this study. Some basic information about the emergency engineering area at the Middle Beach is firstly described. The shoreline change of this area, including the analysis of beach width in five monitoring profiles in the bathing places of Middle Beach, is then discussed. After that a numerical modal based on one-line theory is established and the numerical results agree well with the measured shorelines, which indicates that the model is appropriate and is qualified to predict the shoreline change of the Middle Beach. With the same model and parameters, long-term performance of the project is predicted, and the result shows that without follow-up nourishment and project, the bathing places can remain suitable for bathing for about 10 a. It is suggested to nourish the beach in time and carry out the beach nourishment project for the full Middle Beach in Beidaihe.展开更多

In the modified ELM, equilibrium over the lines on the natural boundary is satisfied as Neumann boundary condition equations. In other words, the natural boundary conditions are satisfied naturally by using the weak formulation. The performance of the modified version of the ELM is studied for collocation methods based on two different ways to construct meshless shape functions: moving least squares approximation and radial basis point interpolation. Numerical examples of two-dimensional free and forced vibration analyses show that by using the modified ELM, more stable and accurate results would be obtained in comparison with the direct collocation method.展开更多

The use of a stable power station (with high speed machines) will be critical in achieving fast and reliable transient response to network events, in particular, when large transient loads are expected on a continuous basis, i.e., industrial mining and mineral processing equipment. Simulation results of this paper assist in understanding how small power stations and wind generation equipment respond to large transients in an islanded network. In particular, detailed simulations and analyses will be presented on impacts of distributed wind generation units (1.5 MW DF1G) on the stability of a small weak network. The novelty of this paper is on detailed analyses and simulation of weak networks with interconnects DFIG's including their impacts on system stability under various transient operating conditions.展开更多
