The review of literature provided conceptual and empirical gaps that formed the basis of the conceptual hypotheses. The study adopted a quantitative approach and a survey that targeted a manufacturing firm in Kenya was utilized. A survey questionnaire was the tool of data collection and was distributed to the 96 non-managerial employees of a manufacturing firm. Out of the 96 questionnaires issued randomly, 86 were returned, indicating a 91.6% response rate. The reliability test showed that study dimensions were reliable. Inferential gtatisties was used to analyse data. Results showed that employee empowerment had a positive and significant influence on organizational performance; organizational commitment mediated the relationship between employee empowerment and organization performance; and OCB did not have a moderating effect.展开更多

This study examined whether implicit attitude measures acted as better predictors. Special attention was paid to the moderating role played by attitude strength in predicting deliberate donation behaviour. In this study (N = 78), explicit and implicit measures of attitudes towards organ donation, as well as behavioural commitment, were assessed. Implicit associations were measured by an Implicit Association Test;five constructs assessed self-reported—understood as reflected—attitude strength. The explicit attitude measure appeared to be the best single predictor of whether the participant ended up taking an organ donor card. More importantly, test results demonstrated the moderating role of attitude strength. In the case of low attitude strength, the likelihood of taking a donor card increased with an increasing positive implicit association. In contrast, increasing strength was associated with a weaker link between card taking and the implicit attitude measure. The results are discussed in light of the power of implicit associations to predict more deliberate behaviours.展开更多

There existed a tendency of decrease in adsorption of the negativelycharged organic substances by the soil from South China to North China, with expression as Coulombianadsorption. A simultaneous reduction of iron and manganese appeared with clear voltammetric behavioursupon oxidation of water-soluble organic substances. Complexation of organic ligands with ferrons iron andmanganous manganese was proved by differential pulse voltammetric method, with disappearance of oxidationpeaks of ferrous iron and manganous manganese at 0.00 V and 0.35 V and occurrence of Fe`+-complex andMn ̄2+ -complex at 0.75 V and 1.2 V respectively, whose peak potentials shifted backward.展开更多

Methods: Thirty-two male Wistar rats were equally divided into four groups: experimental groups were gavaged with the ethanolic extract of the rhizome of B. rotunda at doses of 60, 120 and 240 mg/kg and a control group received distilled water, for 60 days. Sexual behaviour, reproductive organs, diameter of seminiferous tubule, epididymal sperm density, and androgenic hormones were evaluated. Results: Within 30-min observation, there was no significant difference of courtship behaviour, mount frequency (MF), intromission frequency (IF), mount latency (ML), intromission latency (IL), copulatory efficiency or intercopulatory interval in male rats. In three 10-min intervals over a 30-min period, courtship behaviour and MF during the first 10-min were significantly higher than those in the second and third i0-min observation in all groups, whereas IF had no significant difference. All doses of B. rotunda extract significantly increased the relative testicular weight and the diameter of the seminiferous tubules. The dose of 60 mg/kg also significantly increased the relative weight of the seminal vesicle. Nevertheless, the sperm density, serum testosterone and androstenedione levels were not affected by the B. rotunda extract. Conclusion: B. rotunda does not affect sexual behaviour nor serum androgenic levels.展开更多

The compound was characterised by IR, Raman, differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) and single crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system (space group P21/c) with the following unit cell dimensions: a = 7.765 (2) , b = 16.531 (4) , c = 14.843 (2) , β = 100.99 (2)o, Z=4 , DX =1.67Mg.m-3, Dm=1.532Mg-3, λ (MoKa) = 0.71073 , u=0.384 mm-1, F(000)=991, T = 20 (2)o. The structure was solved by the direct method and refined to final R value of 0.0342 and Rw=0.107 for 3239 independent [(CH3CH2)4N]+ reflections. The structure consists of infinite parallel two-dimensional planes built of mutually , H3PO4 tetrahedra ?and cations connected by strong and hydrogen bonding. There are no contacts other than van der Waals interactions between the layers.展开更多
