The exponential smoothing method was used to obtain a per capita consumption panern of wood panels in lran for estimating demand of wood panels by the year of 2012. Results show that the consumption of particleboard, fiberboard, and medium density fiberboard in lran will increase by 33%, 72% and 107 %o, respectively, by the year of 2012; however, the consumption of plywood will increase only by 7% by 2012. The deficient amount of wood panels in Iran is estimated over 1400 000 m^3. The results of this study provide the technique reference for planners of wood panel industries in Iran in capital investment decisions.展开更多

The magnitude of WG and FD-GMM estimates are almost the same for square panels. WG estimator performs best for long panels such as those with time dimension as large as 50. The advantage of FD-GMM estimator however, is observed on panels that are long and wide, say with time dimension at least 25 and cross-section dimension size of at least 30. For small-sized panels, the two methods failed since their optimality was established in the context of asymptotic theory. We developed parametric bootstrap versions of WG and FD-GMM estimators. Simulation study indicates the advantages of the bootstrap methods under small sample cases on the assumption that variances of the individual effects and the disturbances are of similar magnitude. The boostrapped WG and FD-GMM estimators are optimal for small samples.展开更多

With the reference to the surface classification determined by Gauss curvature, the proportion of the mid-surface area between before and after being developed is derived from the displacement variation of the mid-surface in the normal vector direction of the sheet metal during the sheet metal forming process. Hereby, based on the curve development theory in differential geometry, a novel diagonal point by point surface development method is put forward to estimate a complex cover panel's blank contour efficiently. By comparing the sample's development result of diagonal point by point surface development method with that of available one-step method, the validity of the proposed surface development method is verified.展开更多

The theory covers the cases of stationary process, local to unity process, unit root process, mildly integrated, mildly explosive and explosive processes. It is assumed that the cross-sectional dimension and time-series dimension are respectively N and T. The results in this paper illustrate that whichever the process is, with an appropriate regularization, the least squares estimator of the autoregressive coefficient converges in distribution to a normal distribution with rate at least O(N-1/3). Since the variance is the key to characterize the normal distribution, it is important to discuss the variance of the least squares estimator. We will show that when the autoregressive coefficient ρ satisfies |ρ| < 1, the variance declines at the rate O((NT)-1), while the rate changes to O(N^(-1) T^(-2)) when ρ = 1 and O(N^(-1)ρ^(-2 T+4)) when |ρ| > 1. ρ = 1 is the critical point where the convergence rate changes radically. The transition process is studied by assuming ρ depending on T and going to 1. An interesting phenomenon discovered in this paper is that, in the explosive case, the least squares estimator of the autoregressive coefficient has a standard normal limiting distribution in the panel data case while it may not has a limiting distribution in the univariate time series case.展开更多

The dynamics of vibrations is governed by the fourth order Euler-Bernoulli beam equation. One end of the panel is held by a rigid hub and other end is totally free. Due to attachment of the hub, its dynamics leads to a non-standard equation. The exponential stabilization of the whole system is achieved by applying an active boundary control force only on the rigid hub. The result of uniform stabilization is obtained by means of an explicit form of exponential energy decay estimate.展开更多
