The combination of near-infrared(NIR)fluorescence imaging(FLI)and photoacoustic imaging(PAI)can effectively compensate for each other’s inherent limitations,which can provide reliable and rich information on tumor biology.Therefore,the development of FL/PA dual-modality imaging probes is beneficial for achieving precision cancer diagnosis and treatment.Herein,we designed an efficient phototherapy agent methoxy bithiophene indene(OTIC),which was based on aggregation-induced emission(AIE)active fluorophores.To improve the water dispersion and enrichment of OTIC at the tumor site,OTIC nanoparticles(OTIC NPs)were prepared by a nanoprecipitation method.The balance between radiation and non-radiation energy dissipation was regulated by the strong donor-acceptor interaction and intramolecular motion.So OTIC NPs exhibited bright NIR fluorescence,photoacoustic signals,efficient generation of reactive oxygen species,and high photothermal conversion efficiency under NIR irradiation.Accurate imaging of the tumor and mice sentinel lymph nodes(SLNs)with OTIC NPs was visualized by NIR FL/PA dual-modal imaging.With the comprehensive imaging information provided by OTIC NPs in vivo,tumors were ablated under laser irradiation,which greatly improved the therapeutic efficacy.OTIC NPs would be possible to realize the precise guidance of FL/PA imaging for tumor treatment in the future clinical application. 展开更多

Gold Nanorods-mediated Photothermal Therapy Guided by Vascular Interventional Radiation to Inhibit Cancer Metastasis

The purpose of this study was to investigate the inhibitory effect of gold nanorods-mediated photothermal therapy on liver metastasis of colorectal cancer under the guidance of vascular interventional radiology.A total of 80 patients admitted to our hospital from February 2018 to February 2020 were selected and randomly divided into study group and control group with 40 cases each,among which the control group received 125I seed implantation combined with chemotherapy.On this basis,the study group were added the gold nanorods(AuNRs)to the photothermal therapy additionally.The clinical efficacy,postoperative complications and postoperative survival rates of the two groups were compared.The results showed that the total clinical effective rate was 82.5%in the study group,which was significantly better than 67.5%in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).In addition,the incidence of leukocytosis,nausea,vomiting and delayed diarrhea in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in the proportion of elevated body temperature,liver dysfunction,or moderate liver pain between the two groups(P>0.05).Therefore,under the guidance of vascular interventional radiology,Au NRs are safe and effective materials for the treatment of liver metastasis of colorectal cancer,which can reduce complications and improve postoperative survival rates. 展开更多

Most commonly used wound dressings have severe problems,such as an inability to adapt to wound shape or a lack of antibacterial capacity,affecting their ability to meet the requirements of clinical applications.Here,a nanocomposite hydrogel(XKP)is developed by introducing polydopamine nanoparticles(PDA NPs)into a food gum matrix(XK,consisting of xanthan gum and konjac glucomannan,both FDA-approved food thickening agents)for skin wound healing.In this system,the embedded PDA NPs not only interact with the food gum matrix to form a hydrogel with excellent mechanical strength,but also act as photothermal transduction agents to convert near-infrared laser radiation to heat,thereby triggering bacterial death.Moreover,the XKP hydrogel has high elasticity and tunable water content,enabling it to adapt to the shape of the wound and insulate it,providing a moist environment suitable for healing.In-vivo skin wound healing results clearly demonstrate that XKP can significantly accelerate the healing of wounds by reducing the inflammatory response and promoting vascular reconstruction.In summary,this strategy provides a simple and practical method to overcome the drawbacks of traditional wound dressings,and provides further options when choosing suitable wound healing materials for clinical applications. 展开更多
