The polarization of traditional photonic crystal(PC) vertical cavity surface emitting laser(VCSEL) is uncontrollable,resulting in the bit error increasing easily.Elliptical hole photonic crystal can control the tr...The polarization of traditional photonic crystal(PC) vertical cavity surface emitting laser(VCSEL) is uncontrollable,resulting in the bit error increasing easily.Elliptical hole photonic crystal can control the transverse mode and polarization of VCSEL efficiently.We analyze the far field divergence angle,and birefringence of elliptical hole PC VCSEL.When the ratio of minor axis to major axis b/a = 0.7,the PC VCSEL can obtain single mode and polarization.According to the simulation results,we fabricate the device successfully.The output power is 1.7 mW,the far field divergence angle is less than 10°,and the side mode suppression ratio is over 30 dB.The output power in the Y direction is 20 times that in the X direction.展开更多

A total of 53 sets of lidar data presented in this paper were obtained over...lidar system (694 nm) was used to measure the stratospheric aerosol layer at Zhongshan Station (69°22'S, 76°22'E ) in 1993. A total of 53 sets of lidar data presented in this paper were obtained over a period of 224 days between March 27 and November 5, 1993. The average vertical profiles of stratospheric aerosol backscattering ratio and the integrated backscatter coefficient over the 12 km~30 km altitude range were reversed from the return signal of lidar. The results of observations show that the stratospheric aerosol content more noticeably enhanced in 1993 than that in 1990 due to Mt. Pinatubo eruption in Philippines in June of 1991. Polar Stratospheric Clouds (PSCs) were observed from late May until early August. The vertical profiles of stratospheric aerosol backscattering ratio at Antarctica in 1993 show a clear double-layer structure. One layer is at an altitude of about 12 km,the other is at an altitude of about 25 km. The upper layer is varied with season.展开更多

It was shown that, though the momentum-depende...A theoretical investigation is presented on the characteristics of the kinetic magnetoelectric effect in laterally boundary-confined ballistic two-dimensional hole gases. It was shown that, though the momentum-dependent effective magnetic fields felt by charge carriers due to the spin-orbit interaction are in-plane orientated in such systems, both in-plane polarized and normal polarized nonequilibrium spin polarization densities could be electrically induced by the kinetic magnetoelectric effect, and the induced nonequilibrium spin polarizations exhibit some interesting characteristics. The characteristics we found indicate that there may be some possible relation between this effect and some recent experimental findings.展开更多

We found the cubic lattice near (001) surface showed an intensive tendency to transfer to tetragonal lattice. The metallic state appeared on both the terminations. For O-termination, some O2p states were vacated and hole carriers concentrated on surface oxygen-ions. For Zr-termination, some Zr4d states became partial occupied for the loss of O2p states. We observed the hole states were mainly localized at the corresponding ions on surface for both the terminations, while the charge states on Zr-termination were dispersed on surface.展开更多
