In lepton-nucleon deep inelastic scattering(DIS), Lambda polarization measurements can probe polarized parton distribution functions(PDFs) and polarized fragmentation functions(FFs). One of the most promising facilities for high-energy nuclear physics research is the proposed Electron-ion collider in China(EicC). As a next-generation facility, EicC is set to advance our understanding of nuclear physics to new heights. In this article, we study the Lambda production in electron-proton collisions at the EicC energy, in particular the reconstruction of Lambda based on the performance of the designed EicC detector. In addition, taking spontaneous transverse polarization as an example, we provide a theoretical prediction with a statistical projection based on one month of EicC data, offering valuable insights into future research prospects.展开更多

The three-component p BRDF model with a detailed reflection assumption is validated by comparing simulations with measurements. The DOP expression presented in this paper is related to surface roughness, which makes it more reasonable in physics. Test results for two metallic samples show that the DOP based on the three-component p BRDF model accords well with the measurement and the error of existing DOP expression is significantly reduced by introducing the diffuse reflection. It indicates that our DOP expression describes the polarized reflection properties of metallic surfaces more accurately.展开更多

The effect of the solvent on the spectral properties and dipole moment of the lowest excited state of C343 were investigated. It was found that the absorption and fluorescence spectra red-shifted slightly and strongly with increasing solvent polarity, respectively, because the charge distribution of the excited state leaded to the increasing difference between the absorption and fluorescence spectra with increasing solvent polarity. The dipole moment of the lowest excited state of C343 was determined from solvatochromic measurements and the quantum chemical calculation, and the results obtained from these two methods were fully consistent. Investigations of the time-resolved fluorescence of C343 in different solvents indicated that the fluorescence lifetimes increased nearly linearly with 4.45 ns in water. This can be ascribed between C343 and hydrogen donating increasing solvent polarity from 3.09 ns in toluene to to the intermolecular hydrogen bonding interactions solvents展开更多

(2014). When solving some matrix optimization problems via gauge dual, one is usually able to avoid full matrix decompositions such as singular value and/or eigenvalue decompositions. In such an approach, a gauge dual problem is solved in the first stage, and then an optimal solution to the primal problem can be recovered from the dual optimal solution obtained in the first stage. Recently, this theory has been applied to a class of semidefinite programming (SDP) problems with promising numerical results by Friedlander and Mac^to (2016). We establish some theoretical results on applying the gauge duality theory to robust principal component analysis (PCA) and general SDP. For each problem, we present its gauge dual problem, characterize the optimality conditions for the primal-dual gauge pair, and validate a way to recover a primal optimal solution from a dual one. These results are extensions of Friedlander and Macedo (2016) from nuclear norm regularization to robust PCA and from a special class of SDP which requires the coefficient matrix in the linear objective to be positive definite to SDP problems without this restriction. Our results provide further understanding in the potential advantages and disadvantages of the gauge duality theory.展开更多
