Microstructural evolutions of the railway frog steel solidified under different pressure were studied using OM, FEGSEM, and TEM. The influences of pressure on the solidification, grain sizes, and morphology of carbides of the steel were analyzed. It is found that the melting point of the steel increases with the pressure and the solidified microstructure under high pressure does not vary significantly with the melting temperature. The experimental results show that the solidified microstructure consisting of complete equiaxed dendrites is remarkably refined through the increase of pressure, with the mean dendrite arm spacing of about 24, 18, and 8 μm under 3, 6, and 10 GPa, respectively. It is also revealed by TEM observation that the precipitates change from needle-like and rhombic carbide(M3C) forms during normal(atmospheric) pressure solidification into nodulized hexagonal precipitate M7C3 at 3 GPa, and M(23)C6 at 6 GPa and 10 GPa, which is associated with the undercooling and distribution of the trace elements. The diameter of the precipitates is between 80 nm and 200 nm. 展开更多

Using ground water vapor pressure and precipitation data at four times of one day during 1985- 2014 in each county( city) of Anyang, precipitable water at each station was calculated, and temporal-spatial distribution of atmospheric maximum precipitable water and its change trend over the years in the city were analyzed. Results showed that atmospheric maximum precipitable water in Anyang City had the characteristics of summer far more than winter, autumn slightly higher than spring, west and south more, and east and north less, and presented the increasing trend year by year. We further analyzed the characteristic of monthly rainfall enhancement potential in each county, and mean in whole year was 80%. In spring and winter, rainfall enhancement potential in the west was bigger than east, while rainfall enhancement potential in the east was bigger than west in summer and autumn. The research provides reference basis for rationally carrying out artificial rainfall work, which could effectively ease uneven temporal-spatial distribution problem of water resource in Anyang City. 展开更多

A method to precipitate nanoparticles using a miniemulsion technique is described, in which miniemulsion droplets between 100 and 1000 nm in size serve as nanoreactors enabling both the control of particle formation and particle growth. The application of miniemulsion droplets to synthesise nanoparticles comprises three advantages: first, the size of the precipitated particles is limited by the reactant concentration within the emulsion droplet; second, particle agglomeration is prevented as nanoparticle collision outside the nanoreactor is avoided; and third, easy technical scale up can be realized by increasing emulsion volume and thus the number of nanoreactors, while local conditions within the reactors are not changed, The miniemulsion technique is an easy scalable process which allows defined synthesis of particles by precipitation reactions. The miniemulsion technique involves first the preparation of a stable water-in- oil miniemulsion by high pressure homogenisation. Whereas a water soluble reactant is provided within the aqueous droplets, another oilas well as water-soluble reactant can be introduced to the emulsion after homogenisation. The precipitation reaction is induced by the diffusion of the second reactant into the emulsion droplet. Together with this contribution, a method is described and discussed which uses a high pressure homogenisation process to produce stable water-in-oil miniemulsions serving as a reaction medium to precipitate metal oxides. 展开更多
