Using the Process Approach to Teach English Writing to Vocational Students

Based on an analysis of current English writing and teaching conditions in vocational institutes,it is proposed that the methods used to teach English writing should be changed to a process oriented approach.In the planning,drafting,revising,and post-writing stages,students are fully involved in the process of monitoring their own and the written works of others through a series of cooperative activities among the students and guiding activities directed by the teacher.As a result,in the process of cooperative discussions aimed at identifying and resolving problems,their writing habits will be improved,their interest in English writing will be stimulated,and their research and writing skills will be further developed.

Building Sustainable Score (BSS)—A Hybrid Process Approach for Sustainable Building Assessment in China

Sustainable building in China has gained attention both domestically and abroad. Despite the fast increase in sustainable assessment tools developed locally or adopted from overseas, there are still criticisms about the current situation of weak implementation and lack of comprehensive consideration. The lack of consideration of economic and social aspects or building performance on whole building life cycle all lead to departure from the true meaning of sustainable development. And lack of participation on the part of stakeholders makes it too theoretical to be carried out. This research aims to develop a model to address this problem. This research started with review of current sustainable assessment tools applied in China. As the assessment indicators have clear regional disparities, and almost no current tool considers all three pillars of environmental, economic and social in building life cycle. An industry survey was therefore designed for generation of indicators at different building stages, and personal interviews relevant to different occupation in building industry were conducted to complement the questionnaire survey. After that, the model Building Sustainable Score (BSS) was developed based on the stakeholders’ participation. Finally, the model is verified by a case study.

A Study on the Effectiveness of Process-oriented Approach in ESL English Writing Teaching in YAU

This study sets out to conduct the effectiveness of process-oriented approach on the ESL writing teaching for non-Eng-lish majors in Yunnan Agricultural University(YAU),with the aim of enhancing the students' English writing proficiency andscores.120 non-English major sophomores and 10 English teachers from YAU are involved in it.With the results of questionnaire,interview and the composition scores of the target students,the findings indicate that the students have a positive attitude towardsprocess-oriented writing approach and it can help them write better and make the writing class more interesting.

Instructing Mini-saga with Process Genre Approach in Chinese College EFL Writing

Mini-saga, a brand-new writing genre, is a short story with exactly 50 words, which can be instructed with process genre approach in Chinese college EFL writing classes. Process genre approach emphasizes both the knowledge of context, especially the purpose for writing and skills in using language. Guided by the approach, students need to consider how to achieve certain social purposes in context with appropriate language and structure while composing mini-sagas. Detailed instruction procedures can be designed to instruct students to work out mini-sagas, which can arouse their interest and motivation in English writing, encourage their writing innovation and originality, develop their writing skills, and dig their writing potentials.

The Process-based Approach in English Writing Class

English writing is gaining high attention and emphasis in our college syllabus. It is a complicated process of written communication. A New Approach to Software Development Fusion Process Model

There are several software process models that have been proposed and are based on task involved in developing and maintaining software product. The large number of software projects not meeting their expectation in terms of functionality, cost, delivery schedule and effective project management appears to be lacking. In this paper, we present a new software fusion process model, which depicts the essential phases of a software project from initiate stage until the product is retired. Fusion is component based software process model, where each component implements a problem solving model. This approach reduces the risk associated with cost and time, as these risks will be limited to a component only and ensure the overall quality of software system by considering the changing requirements of customer, risk assessment, identification, evaluation and composition of relative concerns at each phase of development process.

A Kind of Lean Approach for Removing Wastes From Non-Manufacturing Process With Various Facilities

It is important to identify and remove the wastes not only from manufacturing process, but also from nonmanufacturing process. In the last several decades, significant research achievements and practice benefits have been achieved about removing wastes from manufacturing process. Since the1990 s, some researchers and lean practitioners have paid more attention to removing waste from non-manufacturing process.Based on the authors' research work and industrial practice, the paper introduces a kind of lean approach for removing waste from non-manufacturing process. In its case study, the order handling process in a value chain is described with respect to a factory and its downstream distribution centers(DCs). The paper proposes a lean approach solution for creating the improved order handling process, and analyze how great improvements in performance can be achieved. As a result, the significant achievement has created a win-win scenario for both the nonmanufacturing process in a factory and non-manufacturing facilities(like DCs) across the value chain. It demonstrates that improvements have been made by removing waste from the non-manufacturing process that takes place within a factory as well as with external participants through the whole value chain. Likewise, the proposed lean approach has helped the case companies to achieve greater levels of efficiency and more benefits. Finally, some conclusions are drawn.

An Integrated Approach to the Teaching of English Writing

English writing, as a basic language skill for second language learners, is being paid close attention to. How to achieve better results in English teaching and how to develop students＇ writing competence remain an arduous task for English teachers. This paper introduces three writing approaches that are currently popular in English writing teaching field, i.e., the product approach, the process approach and the genre approach, and offers some discussion on the three approaches each approach shows its strengths and weaknesses, but meanwhile they are largely complementary. Then this paper attempts to propose an integrated approach which is not only a synthesis of the above three approaches, but also draws on some experiences of traditional Chinese language teaching methods.

A Genre-Based Approach to the Teaching of Writing

The essay explains why the writing skill is often perceived to be the most difficult language skill to master; to what extent can a genre approach to teaching writing help students master the skill of writing compare briefly to other skills such as product approach and process approach; and introduce a new approach process-genre approach.

铁矿采选业废水零排放评价思路与实施重点——基于对典型企业的现状调研

废水零排放已逐步成为水资源可持续利用和工业企业绿色发展的必要举措。铁矿采选企业不同于一般工业企业,受地质和气候的影响,不同矿山疏排水量差异较大,部分矿山会产生超出企业消纳能力的矿井涌水和尾矿库溢流水,其不适宜与一般工业企业一样完全以有无废水外排作为零排放的判断依据。基于对湖北、安徽、新疆等地区铁矿采选企业用、排水情况的调研,总结分析了我国典型铁矿采选企业的用、排水情况及废水零排放现状水平,初步提出了铁矿采选企业废水零排放的评价思路及建设重点。

健康行为过程取向模型对缺血性脑卒中病人出院准备度的提升效果研究

目的:观察健康行为过程取向模型对缺血性脑卒中病人出院准备度的提升效果。方法:选取2021年2月—2024年1月江南大学附属医院神经内科收治的缺血性脑卒中病人152例作为研究对象,采用随机数字表法将病人分为研究组和常规组,各76例。常规组实施常规护理,研究组在常规组基础上实施健康行为过程取向模型下的护理干预,干预4周。比较两组干预前后出院指导质量、出院准备度、急诊就诊率、1个月非计划性再入院率等情况。结果:干预后,研究组出院准备度各维度评分均高于常规组,出院指导质量总分高于常规组,研究组急诊就诊率、1个月非计划性再入院率低于常规组,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论:实施健康行为过程取向模型干预护理后,能帮助病人提升出院准备度,改善出院指导质量,减少病人非计划性再入院率等。

Differential effects of teaching approaches on Chinese EFL learners of different writing abilities

To the issue on the superiority and inferiority of the ＂product approach＂ and the ＂process approach＂ writing teaching, an empirical study research of I00 non-English major students has been accomplished to testify the relationship between these different approaches and the different writing levels. The results are the ＂product approach＂ is more helpful to the learners with lower writing level; whereas, the ＂process approach＂ is more effective to ones with higher level. Furthermore, the teaching approach itself cannot affirm the superiority and inferiority, and it would not be at work unless is applied for corresponding learners.

Modeling of Business Processes of Project Financing

Need of transformation of means of support of project financing for commercial banks is proved.The analysis and modeling of business processes of project management by the contextual chart and the chart of decomposition is carried out that allowed to describe the main stages of project financing.With use of tools of programming the business application of project management which will promote operational assessment on selection of introduced drafts is created.
