Scientific evaluation of the suitability of Qinghai's climate for tourism can contribute to overcoming obstacles posed by climate on sustainable tourism development in Qinghai Province, including disparities between the low and high seasons, high altitude health concerns, and weather events. A tourism climate suitability evaluation model of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is constructed (Tourism Climate Suitability Index, or TCSI), and tourism climate suitability is comprehensively evaluated for Qinghai Province from climate data from 1960 to 2009. Results show that: (I) There is clear distributional characteristics of spatial-temporal variability of TCSI values in Qinghai Province. (II) Tourism climate suitability in Qinghai Province has significant seasonal and regional differences. The year is divided into a very suitable period (July and August), suitable tourism periods (from April and October), less suitable periods (From Nov to Mar). June to August is the most suitable tourism period in Qinghai. Qinghai Province is divided into five levels of tourism climate suitability: most suitable regions, very suitable regions, suitable regions, less suitable regions, and unsuitable region. (III) The key factor which influences regional differences in tourism climatic suitability is atmospheric oxygen. And the key factors which chiefly influence seasonal differences of tourism climate suitability are temperature and humidity, the wind chill factor, and barrier weather.展开更多

The deformed rocks suffered epidote-amphibolite facies metamorphism. On the basis of our previous study, we present more data in this paper to further support that the ducdle thrust deformation occurred in the later Caledonian and more detailed information about the deformation. A zircon U-Pb concordant age of 446±2.2 Ma of a deformed granodiorite in the ductile thrust zone was obtained and can be interpreted as the lower limit of the deformation. A syntectonically crystallized and also strongly deformed hornblende Ar/ Ar dating gives an Ar/Ar plateau age of 426.5±3.8 Ma, which represents the deformation age. A strongly orientated muscovite gives an Ar/Ar plateau age of 408±1.6Ma, representing the cooling age after the peak temperature, constraining the upper limit of the ductile thrust deformation. This ductile thrust deformation can be interpreted as the result of the closing of the Central East Kunlun archipelago ocean. To the north, Ar/Ar plateau ages of 382.9±0.2 Ma and 386.8±0.8 Ma of muscovite in the deformed Xiaomiao Group represent the uplift cooling ages of deeper rocks after the thrusting movement. The original thrusting foliation has a low angle. A rotation model was put forward to explain the development of the foliation from the original low-angle to present high-angle dipping.展开更多

It is found that the winter snow cover over QXP bears a pronounced quasi-biennial oscillation, and it underwent an obvious decadal transition from a poor snow cover period to a rich snow cover period in the late 1970’s during the last 40 years. It is shown that the summer rainfall in the eastern China is closely associated with the winter snow cov-er over QXP not only in the interannual variation but also in the decadal variation. A clear relationship ex-ists in the quasi-biennial oscillation between the summer rainfall in the northern part of North China and the southern China and the winter snow cover over QXP. Furthermore, the summer rainfall in the four cli-mate divisions of Qinling-Daba Mountains, the Yangtze-Huaihe River Plain, the upper and lower reaches of the Yangtze River showed a remarkable transition from drought period to rainy period in the end of 1970’s, in good correspondence with the decadal transition of the winter snow cover over QXP. This is thefirst study to detect Bartonella in plateau pikas inthe Qinghai plateau, providing baseline data for therisk assessment of human Bartonella infection inthis area. We obtained 15 Bartonella strains from79 pikas in Binggou and Maixiu areas of Qinghaiwith a positive rate of 18.99%. Based on thephylogenetic analysis of the Bartonella citratesynthase (gltA) gene sequences, most strains wereclosely related to B. taylorii (3/15) and B. grahamii(12/15). The latter is a pathogenic strain in humans. Our results suggest that a corresponding preventionand control strategy should be taken intoconsideration in the Qinghai province.展开更多

Our main conclusions are as follows: (1) The horizontal distribution of 〈 Q1 〉 and its changing trend are dramatic over QXP in the summer. There are three strong centers of 〈 Q1 〉 over the south side of QXP with obvious differences in the amount of yearly precipitation and the number of heat sinks predominate in the arid and semi-arid regions of northwest China (NWC), beside the northern QXP with an obvious higher intensity in years with less precipitation. (2) In the summer, the variation of the heat source's vertical structure is obviously different between greater and lesser precipitation years in eastern northwest China (ENWC). The narrow heat sink belt forms between the northeast QXP and the southwestern part of Lake Baikal. In July and August of greater precipitation years, the heating center of the eastern QXP stays nearly over 35°N, and at 400 hPa of the eastern QXP, the strong upward motion of the heating center constructs a closed secondary vertical circulation cell over the northeast QXP (40~ 46~N), which is propitious to add precipitation over the ENWC. Otherwise, the heating center shifts to the south of 30°N and disappears in July and August of lesser precipitation years, an opposite secondary circulation cell forms over the northeast QXP, which is a disadvantage for precipitation. Meanwhile, the secondary circulation cell in years with more or less precipitation over the ENWC is also related to the heat source over the Lake Baikal. (3) The vertical structure of the heat source over the western QXP has obvious differences between greater and lesser precipitation years in western northwest China in June and July. The strong/weak heat source over the western QXP produces relatively strong/weak ascending motion and correspondingly constructs a secondary circulation cell in lesser/greater precipitation years.展开更多

This foreland basin is E—W elongated basin with 800km in length and 200km to 300km in width. Both margins of the basin are large suture belt and linked to thrusting of large suture belt, so Mesozoic Qiangtang foreland basin belongs to composite foreland basins according to Jordan’s classification of the foreland basin(1988). The foreland basin is filled with 5000~8000m thick late Triassic to Cretaceous marine sediments. The spacial changes of the stratigraphy indicates that the basin texture looks like a symmetric body, and it can be subdivided into three tectonic geomorphic units from north to south ,such as northern basin, center uplift, and southern basin. The depth in the north varies from 5000 to 8000m,the depth in center uplift varies from zero to 1000m, the depth in the south varies from 5000 to 7000m, Which show that the occurrence of the Mesozoic filling stratigraphy are thicker in the north and the south of the basin, but thinner in the center uplift of the basin. There are two center of subsidence of the basin, both of them are located in south and north foredeep belt, lying in the front of suture belt. The basin is one of common foreland basins between suture belt and belongs to typical symmetric foreland basin. This kind of basin geometry allows large thickness of synsedimentary molasse sediments to be preserved and related to basement uplifts and thrusts in the cratonic edge of the mountain belt. From late Triassic to Cretaceous the foreland basin is filled by four tectonic sequences, including late Triassic tectonic sequence(TS\-1),early Jurassic tectonic sequence(TS\-2), middle Jurassic to early Cretaceous tectonic sequence(TS\-3) and middle to late Cretaceous tectonic sequence (TS\-4).A tectonic Sequence is a body of genetically related strata isolated by unconformity ,deposited in a basining stage responding to a thrusting episode. Late Triassic tectonic sequence(TS\-1) is bounded by Ta and Tb and composed of the Xiaochaka formation which is more than 2500m in depth, it is a coarsing\|upward tectonic sequence, the lower is fan delta sediments with debris conglomerate, the middle is carbonate ramp sediments, the upper is delta sediments; early Jurassic tectonic sequence(TS\-2) is bounded by Tb and Tc and composed of the Nadigangri formation which is more than 1000m in depth, it is a thinning\|upward tectonic sequence, the lower is fan delta sediments with debris conglomerate, the upper is subaquatic detrital sediments; middle Jurassic to early Cretaceous tectonic sequence(TS\-3) is bounded by Tc and Td and composed of the Quemocuo formation,Buqu formation, Xiali formation, Suowa formation and Xueshan formation, which is more than 3000m in depth; middle to late Cretaceous tectonic sequence (TS\-4) is bounded by Td and Tf and composed of the Abushan formation, it is a thinning—upward alluvial fan sediments with more than 1000m in depth.展开更多

The work was provided according to WHO and OIE guidelines. In 2012, we collected 532 samples from wild geese of two species: Bar-headed Goose (Anser indicus) and Graylag Goose (Anser anser). We analyzed samples by chicken embryo inoculation and PCR. No avian influenza viruses were isolated. History of HPAI H5N1 shows obvious importance of Central Asian region in its spreading. The outbreaks of the H5N1 Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI H5N1) were reported in wild birds at the Qinghai Lake since 2005. This area seems to be key point for H5N1 avian influenza surveillance in wild birds. We did not find viruses although H5N1 cases in poultry were reported from 5 provinces of China in 2012. Annual surveillance is required for early AIV detection in this region.展开更多

The pillar industries in Qinghai Province are analyzed and revaluated from four aspects, which cover demand and income elasticity, location quotient, contribution rate and interrelationship between industries. Through analyzing the problems and causes of the industrial structure of Qinghai Province, we know that the output structure of the three main industries has seriously departed from the employment structure; the pillar industries mainly concentrated on the fields of resource exploitation and primary processing; the interrelationship between the industries is low; and the development between the light and heavy industries are imbalanced. With the globalization and the further implementation of national preferential policies on western development, Qinghai Province follows the following principles in the restructuring of industrial structure in order to carry out the scientific thought of development and the "Ecological province" strategy. Firstly, the restructuring of industrial structure should be guided by market and scientific and technological progress. Secondly, it should fully display the regional advantages. Thirdly, it should attach importance to the developmental status and prospect of relevant accessory industries. Fourthly, the restructuring should be helpful to the labor transfer and reemployment of rural surplus labor forces. Suggestions on the selection of pillar industries and optimization of industrial structure are put forward. Qinghai Province should accelerate the restructuring of industrial structure, strengthen the support on pillar industries and lay stress on the introduction of the capitals, technologies and talents.展开更多

Among them, three main types of gold deposits have been recognized, including quartz-vein-type, shear- zone-type and porphyry-type. The former two types of gold deposits are mainly hosted within metamorphic rocks, while the latter is related to Cenozoic magmatism. Although all of these gold deposits are believed to have been formed during the uplift process of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in the Cenozoic era (Wang et al., 2002b), precise isotopic age constraints have still been lacking until quite recently. This paper presents new 40Ar/39Ar data of some gold deposits on the eastern margin of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, which indicate that gold mineralization in the region occurred in response to the episodic stages of the orogenies. Recently obtained 40Ar/39Ar data on quartz and feldspars from several gold deposits, such as the Sandiao deposit, the Baijintaizi deposit, the Pusagang deposits, provide new constraints on gold mineralization on the eastern margin of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Geochronological studies of gold deposits along the Daduhe River indicate that there are three stages of gold mineralization. The early two stages occurred as early as 65.1 Ma in the Shuibaiyang deposit and 58.95 Ma in the Ruoji deposit, while the latter stage occurred as late as 25.35 Ma in Baijintaizi and 24.70 Ma in Sandiao. Isotopic dating of three plagioclases from the Beiya deposit, Zhifanggou deposit and Luobodi deposit and a K-feldspar from the Jinchangqing deposit in Yunnan Province indicates that these deposits were formed at two stages. The Zhifanggou and Jinchangqing deposits have early stage records as old as 58.82 Ma in Zhifanggou and 55.49 Ma in Jinchangqing, but all of the above four deposits in Yunnan have late stage records of 23.18 Ma in Jinchangqing, 24.54 Ma in Zhifanggou, 24.60 Ma in Luobodi and 24.56 Ma in Hongnitang. The above results suggest that the gold deposits on the eastern margin of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau were formed concentratedly at two main episodes, i.e. the end of the Paleocene (about 58 Ma) and the boundary between the Paleogene and the Neogene (about 25 Ma). The later episode appears to be looks like more important and was coupled with the Sichuan movement, which was extensively activated at that period. The beginning of the Cenozoic Era (about 65 Ma) might be another episode of gold mineralization, but only one deposit (Shuibaiyang) in this study has been proved to have been be formed at this stage and might be earlier than the initial collision between the Indian Plate and the Eurasia Plate. In view of geology, the above three episodes of gold mineralization are associated with three events of tectonic- magmatism and/or fluid events. Even though the gold deposits (for example, the Shuibaiyang deposit, Ruoji deposit and Pusagang deposit) were formed at different episodes, all of them are genetically related to tectonic movements in large- scale shear zones. It looks like theat tectonic events (including large-scale strike-slip) between Paleogene and Neogene had a wide influence upon gold mineralization, with new deposits formed and old deposits enriched or superimposed to be a higher grade by new stage of mineralization. The above data suggest that gold deposits were not only concentrated in some areas, but also formed mainly at different boundaries of geological times, indicating that there existed some peak stages of gold mineralization (metallogenic episodes), and that the gold deposits were formed mainly by episodic mineralization.展开更多

文摘Qinghai Province is an important component of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in China. And the key factors which chiefly influence seasonal differences of tourism climate suitability are temperature and humidity, the wind chill factor, and barrier weather.
文摘A high-angle ductile thrusting deformation with top-to-the-north movement penetratively developed in the Proterozoic-Early Paleozoic metamorphic rocks along the Central East Kunlun belt. A rotation model was put forward to explain the development of the foliation from the original low-angle to present high-angle dipping.

文摘Interannual and decadal variations of winter snow cover over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau (QXP) are analyzed by using monthly mean snow depth data set of 60 stations over QXP for the period of 1958 through 1992. 文摘Bartonella species can infect a variety ofmammalian hosts and cause a broad spectrum ofdiseases in humans, but there have been no reportsof Bartonella infection in Ochotonidae. Our results suggest that a corresponding preventionand control strategy should be taken intoconsideration in the Qinghai province.

文摘The Eastern Kunlun Orogenic Belt(EKOB)has a complex geological structure and diverse magmatic activities, which are closely related to the Qaidam Basin and the Tethys tectonic evolution. There are at least 3 stages mafic-ultramafic rocks occurred in the Early Paleozoic in EKOB.The first stage is the Later-Silurian to Early Devonian, represented by the giant Xiarihamu super large magmatic Cu-Ni deposit, containing about 1.18 million metric tons(Mt)of nickel with average grades of 0.65%Ni,and its age of ore-forming pyroxene peridotite is 411 Ma;The second stage is the Early Carboniferous, represented by the large Shitoukengde magmatic Cu-Ni sulfide deposit, and its ore-forming age of the olivine websterite is 334 Ma;The third stage of mafic-ultramafic rocks occurred mainly during the Middle-Late Triassic, represented by Xiaojianshan,Lalinggaoli, and Kaimuqi complexes, and no economical ore bodies have been found in this period. The authors summarized the difference between the ore-bearing and the nonmineralized mafic-ultramafic rocks in the EKOB.The olivine of the ore-bearing complexes contains higher MgO and SiO2 content but lower FeO and CaO contents, and the clinopyroxene of ore-bearing complexes contains lower FeO and CaO contents.Crustal sulfur contamination is key to the formation of the giant Xiarihamu Ni deposit, and crustal sulfur contamination degree of the giant magmatic Ni deposit is higher than that of large Ni deposit. The above indicators could guide the exploration and evaluation of similar deposits in the EKOB.

文摘NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data and a 47-year precipitation dataset are utilized to analyze the relationship between an atmospheric heat source (hereafter called 〈 Q1 〉) over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau (QXP) and its surrounding area and precipitation in northwest China. The strong/weak heat source over the western QXP produces relatively strong/weak ascending motion and correspondingly constructs a secondary circulation cell in lesser/greater precipitation years.
文摘A growing number of oil and gas reservoirs have been discovered in granite and metamorphic crystallized rock areas. Statistics show that, about 157 oil and gas fields were found in crystallized bedrocks, with oil reserves of 5048x 10^8 t, and gas reserves of 2681x10^8m3. Among the discovered industrial oil and gas fields hosted in crystallized rocks, most occurred in granite rocks, occupying 40% in quantity and 75% in reserves, followed by those hosted in mafic and ultra-mafic rocks (about 3%), and then tbllowed by those in volcanic rocks and metamorphic rocks.
文摘Mesozoic Qiangtang foreland Basin is located between Jinshajiang suture belt and Bangong—Nujiang suture belt and an important petroliferous basin in the north of Qinghai—Xizang plateau. Late Triassic tectonic sequence(TS\-1) is bounded by Ta and Tb and composed of the Xiaochaka formation which is more than 2500m in depth, it is a coarsing\|upward tectonic sequence, the lower is fan delta sediments with debris conglomerate, the middle is carbonate ramp sediments, the upper is delta sediments; early Jurassic tectonic sequence(TS\-2) is bounded by Tb and Tc and composed of the Nadigangri formation which is more than 1000m in depth, it is a thinning\|upward tectonic sequence, the lower is fan delta sediments with debris conglomerate, the upper is subaquatic detrital sediments; middle Jurassic to early Cretaceous tectonic sequence(TS\-3) is bounded by Tc and Td and composed of the Quemocuo formation,Buqu formation, Xiali formation, Suowa formation and Xueshan formation, which is more than 3000m in depth; middle to late Cretaceous tectonic sequence (TS\-4) is bounded by Td and Tf and composed of the Abushan formation, it is a thinning—upward alluvial fan sediments with more than 1000m in depth.
文摘The aim of study was to detect H5N1 virus in wild geese in Qinghai Province in 2012. Annual surveillance is required for early AIV detection in this region.

文摘Based on the data from the Qinghai Statistical Yearbook 2009, the evolution course of industrial structure and the developmental status of pillar industries is analyzed. Qinghai Province should accelerate the restructuring of industrial structure, strengthen the support on pillar industries and lay stress on the introduction of the capitals, technologies and talents.

文摘This paper aims to investigate the present situation and transfer mechanisms of microplastics in lacustrine sediments in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The study surveyed the average abundance of microplastics in sediments. The abundance of microplastics in sediments of lakes from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is 17.22-2643.65 items/kg DW and 0-60.63 items/kg DW based on the data of the Qinghai Lake and the Siying Co Basin. The microplastic abundance in sediments from small and medium lakes is very high compared to that in other areas in the world.Like microplastics in other lakes of the world, those in the lakes in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau mainly include organic polymers PA,PET,PE,and PP and are primarily in the shape of fibers and fragments. The microplastic pollution of lacustrine sediments in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is affected by natural changes and by human activities, and the concentration of microplastics in lacustrine ecosystems gradually increases through food chains.Furthermore, the paper suggests the relevant administrative departments of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau strengthen waste management while developing tourism and pay much attention to the impacts of microplastics in water environments. This study provides a reference for preventing and controlling microplastic contamination in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

文摘A lot of new gold deposits have been found on the eastern margin of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau during the past two decades. The above data suggest that gold deposits were not only concentrated in some areas, but also formed mainly at different boundaries of geological times, indicating that there existed some peak stages of gold mineralization (metallogenic episodes), and that the gold deposits were formed mainly by episodic mineralization.

文摘[Objective] The research aimed to study the resistance of four kinds of desert plants in Qinhai Lake area.[Method] By contrasting the resistance indexes of four kinds of plants which included Ephedra intermedia,Stellera chamaejasme,Achnatherum splendens and Xanthopappus subacaulis, the resistance of four kinds of plants in Qinghai Lake area was analyzed. The resistance indexes included the soluble protein,MDA,free Pro content and the activities of SOD,POD,CAT.Moreover, the resistance of four kinds of plants was evaluated comprehensively by using Fuzzy membership function method.[Result] Under the low-temperature and arid adversity in Qinghai Lake area,SOD activity presented as Stellera chamaejasme>Xanthopappus subacaulis>Ephedra intermedia>Achnatherum splendens, and CAT activity presented as Stellera chamaejasme>Xanthopappus subacaulis>Achnatherum splendens>Ephedra intermedia.Under the same high-salt environment,CAT activity of Stellera chamaejasme was eight times higher than that of Ephedra intermedia. It illustrated that the salt resistance of Stellera chamaejasme was stronger than that of Ephedra intermedia. The free Pro content showed as Xanthopappus subacaulis>Ephedra intermedia>Stellera chamaejasme>Achnatherum splendens.Under the same adversity,Pro content of Ephedra intermedia was 2.83 times of Stellera chamaejasme. It was because that MDA content in Stellera chamaejasme was the lowest, and the membranous peroxide harm was the smallest. It caused that Pro content (stress penetration material) was low.It also illustrated that the resistance of Stellera chamaejasme was stronger than that of Ephedra intermedia. The comprehensive evaluation of Fuzzy membership function showed that the resistance presented as Xanthopappus subacaulis>Stellera chamaejasme>Ephedra intermedia>Achnatherum splendens.[Conclusion] The research provided the theory basis for the breeding of drought-resistance new variety and the development of good germ plasm resource in Qinghai Lake area.
