A Study on the Challenges of Human-Centric Cyber-Security and the Guarantee of Information Quality

Information security and quality management are often considered two different fields. However, organizations must be mindful of how software security may affect quality control. This paper examines and promotes methods through which secure software development processes can be integrated into the Systems Software Development Life-cycle (SDLC) to improve system quality. Cyber-security and quality assurance are both involved in reducing risk. Software security teams work to reduce security risks, whereas quality assurance teams work to decrease risks to quality. There is a need for clear standards, frameworks, processes, and procedures to be followed by organizations to ensure high-level quality while reducing security risks. This research uses a survey of industry professionals to help identify best practices for developing software with fewer defects from the early stages of the SDLC to improve both the quality and security of software. Results show that there is a need for better security awareness among all members of software development teams.

QUALITY ASSURANCE INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR AGILE MANUFACTURING

The customer driven dynamic global market and geographical distribution of collaborating partners bring new challenges to the development of quality assurance information system (QAIS) for agile manufacturing. With recent dramatic advances in information technology, firstly the requirements of QAIS are examined in agile manufacturing environment, then a new implementation framework of a distributed QAIS is presented, where a deve loping environment of QAIS is established and some critical techniques are studied. Finally a prototype system based on world wide web (WWW) is accomplished.

Research on the Consumers Willingness to Buy Traceable Pork with Different Quality Information:A Case Study of Consumers in Weifang, Shandong Province

The traceability system can effectively reduce the food safety risks, however, it is confronted with various problems during its implementation. In this context, the paper carries out a case study of consumers in Weifang, Shandong Province, and studies their willingness to pay the traceable pork with different quality information. The results indicate that, the consumers show high expectations towards the introduction of traceability system, and they tend to buy the traceable pork only with breeding and slaughter information; their behaviors of purchase are greatly influenced by the following factors: the consumers education, age, income, attention on food safety and whether there are pregnant family members, etc..

Fuzzy Integral Based Information Fusion for Water Quality Monitoring Using Remote Sensing Data

To improve the monitoring precision of lake chlorophyll a (Chl-a), this paper presents a fusion method based on Choquet Fuzzy Integral (CFI) to estimate the Chl-a concentration. A group of BPNN models are designed. The output of multiple BPNN model is fused by the CFI. Meanwhile, to resolve the over-fitting problem caused by a small number of training sets, we design an algorithm that fully considers neighbor sampling information. A classification experiment of the Chl-a concentration of the Taihu Lake is conducted. The result shows that, the proposed approach is superior to the classification using a single neural network classifier, and the CFI fusion method has higher identification accuracy.

Application and Challenge of Edge Computing Based on 5G Communication in Information and Communication Systems

With the rapid development of information technology,5G communication technology has gradually entered real life,among which the application of edge computing is particularly significant in the information and communication system field.This paper focuses on using edge computing based on 5G communication in information and communication systems.First,the study analyzes the importance of combining edge computing technology with 5G communication technology,and its advantages,such as high efficiency and low latency in processing large amounts of data.The study then explores multiple application scenarios of edge computing in information and communication systems,such as integrated use in the Internet of Things,intelligent transportation,telemedicine and Industry 4.0.The research method is mainly based on theoretical analysis and experimental verification,combined with the characteristics of the 5G network to optimize the edge computing model and test the performance of edge computing in different scenarios through experimental simulation.The results show that edge computing significantly improves the data processing capacity and response speed of ICS in a 5G environment.However,there are also a series of challenges in practical application,including data security and privacy protection,the complexity of resource management and allocation,and the guarantee of quality of service(QoS).Through the case analysis and problem analysis,the paper puts forward the corresponding solution strategies,such as strengthening the data security protocol,introducing the intelligent resource scheduling system and establishing a multi-dimensional service quality monitoring mechanism.Finally,this study points out that the deep integration of edge computing and 5G communication will continue to promote the innovative development of information and communication systems,which has a far-reaching impact and important practical significance for promoting the transformation and upgrading in the field of information technology.

Information Quality Control of ERP System

From the viewpoint of manufacturing enterprises, th is thesis discusses the concept and definition of information quality as well as t he connotation of information quality. Based on our personal experiences of many years, we have summarized the cases of success and failure with ERP system, an d from the angle of information quality control, we have come up with the follow ing concepts : static information quality of enterprises, information maturity o f enterprises and dynamic information quality.

Why don’t the Dutch use quality information in their hospital choice? Results from a survey among 479 patients from a Dutch hospital

Information about the quality of hospitals is becoming increasingly available for patients in the Netherlands. Consequently, patients are able to make an informed hospital choice. However, previous research reveals that patients do not or barely use quality information in their hospital choice. This is puzzling from the perspective of the demand-driven health care system, which considers patients as rational health consumers, capable of making independent choices. This article is meant to study why the Dutch patients do not use quality information. In order to answer this question, patients with nonacute ailments visiting the hospital clinics of several departments of a Dutch hospital were asked to fill in a self-administered questionnaire about their hospital choice and use of quality information. A total of 479 patients were included in the sample. The response rate was 81.9%. The results show that 5.2% of the respondents had actually seen quality information and 4.0% had used it in their hospital choice. Logistic regression analysis was carried out in order to explain why some patients use quality information and some do not. This analysis shows that nonusers compared to users are more frequently females, were older, have relatively more trust in their GP’s and distrust quality information more often.

Strategies for Information Dissemination of Quality and Safety Crisis of Tropical Agricultural Products

The quality and safety crisis of agricultural products on the one hand is the crisis of harm of agricultural products,and on the other hand is the crisis of information dissemination. This paper analyzed the characteristics of content of the quality and safety crisis information of tropical agricultural products. On the basis of these characteristics,it came up with strategies and recommendations for solving the problems of quality and safety of tropical agricultural products,including establishing the emergency response system for quality and safety crisis of tropical agricultural products,bringing into play the social responsibilities of scientific research institutions,and bringing into play authoritative effect of scientific experts.

Linking Numerical Water Quality Models in an Environmental Information System for Integrated Environmental Assessments

Decision makers involved in prevention of water contamination often lack the technical knowledge of water quality evaluation or the comprehension of complex software for environmental information management required to make effective decisions. Providing information about the environment is not an easy task due to its complex structure, relationships, and dynamic processes. Because environmental models play an important role in environmental decision support systems, the integration of models into user-friendly integrated information systems is a key factor in the support of such users. This paper presents an environmental information system which supports water protection of Coatzacoalcos River in Mexico, having as a main building block water quality assessments supported by mathematical modeling through the two-dimensional Saint Venant and Advection-Diffusion-Reaction equations to calculate the river hydrodynamics and the contaminant transport, respectively. The mathematical modeling solution yields appropriate results representing the river contaminant distribution when compared with field measurements. But the direct use of these models by decision makers is difficult at best, meaning they are not likely to be used in making practical decisions. The system described in this paper integrates these models, and several other tools, into a seamless, user-centered application, improving model usability, initial configuration, and results visualization.

Quality oriented multimode processes monitoring based on a novel hierarchical common and specific structure with different order information

Due to higher demands on product diversity,flexible shift between productions of different products in one equipment becomes a popular solution,resulting in existence of multiple operation modes in a single process.In order to handle such multi-mode process,a novel double-layer structure is proposed and the original data are decomposed into common and specific characteristics according to the relationship between variables among each mode.In addition,both low and high order information are considered in each layer.The common and specific information within each mode can be captured and separated into several subspaces according to the different order information.The performance of the proposed method is further validated through a numerical example and the Tennessee Eastman(TE)benchmark.Compared with previous methods,superiority of the proposed method is validated by the better monitoring results.

ISO25000-Related Metrics for Evaluating the Quality of Complex Information Systems

Evaluating complex information systems necessitates deep contextual knowledge of technology, user needs, and quality. The quality evaluation challenges increase with the system’s complexity, especially when multiple services supported by varied technological modules, are offered. Existing standards for software quality, such as the ISO25000 series, provide a broad framework for evaluation. Broadness offers initial implementation ease albeit, it often lacks specificity to cater to individual system modules. This paper maps 48 data metrics and 175 software metrics on specific system modules while aligning them with ISO standard quality traits. Using the ISO25000 series as a foundation, especially ISO25010 and 25012, this research seeks to augment the applicability of these standards to multi-faceted systems, exemplified by five distinct software modules prevalent in modern information ecosystems.

An Analysis of the Value of Additional Information Provided by Water Quality Measurement Network

European Community policy concerning water is placing increasing demands on the acquisition of information about the quality of aquatic environments. The cost of this information has led to a reflection on the rationalization of monitoring networks and, therefore, on the economic value of information produced by these networks. The aim of this article is to contribute to this reflection. To do so, we used the Bayesian framework to define the value of additional information in relation to the following three parameters: initial assumptions (prior probabilities) on the states of nature, costs linked to a poor decision (error costs) and accuracy of additional information. We then analyzed the impact of these parameters on this value, particularly the combined role of prior probabilities and error costs that increased or decreased the value of information depending on the initial uncertainty level. We then illustrated the results using a case study of a stream in the Bas-Rhin department in France.

River Water Quality Model Based on Remote Sensing Information Methods——A Case Study of Lijing River in Guilin City

River water quality models based on remote sensing information models are superior to pure water quality models because they combine the inevitability and risk of geographical phenomena and can take complex geographical characteristics into account. A water quality model for forecasting COD has been established with remote sensing in- formation modeling methods by monitoring and analyzing water quantity and water quality of the Lijing River reach which flows through a complicated Karst mountain area. This model provides a good tool to predict water quality of complex rivers. It is validated by simulating contaminant concentrations of the study area. The results show that remote sensing information models are suitable for complex geography. It is not only a combined model of inevitability and risk of the geographical phenomena, but also a semi-theoretical and semi-empirical formula, providing a good tool to study organic contaminants in complicated rivers. The coefficients and indices obtained have limited value and the model is not suitable for all situations. Some improvements are required.

The Influence of Spiritual Values on Work Motivation, Management Control, and Quality of Financial Information on IFIs in Indonesia

This study aims to investigate the influence of spiritual values on work motivation, management control, and the quality of financial information on Islamic financial institutions （IFIs） in Indonesia. Spiritual values are measured using four reflexive indicators, namely, Shiddiq, Fathanah, Amanah, and Tabligh. Work motivation is formed by four formative indicators, namely, compensation, recognition, work experience, and openness. Management control variable is formed by four formative indicators, namely, planning, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring, and finally, the quality of financial information is manifested in four reflexive variables, namely, relevant, comparable, understandable, and consistent. Data are collected through questionnaires with 125 respondents as samples from three types of IFIs, such as Islamic banking, Islamic pawnshop, and Islamic insurance in Indonesia. Methods of data analysis include the use of partial least squares （PLS） to analyze the influence of spiritual values on work motivation, management control, and quality of financial information. The results of this study showed that the manifestation of spiritual values in IFIs is able to influence the quality of financial information through the media as motivation and management control, but directly spiritual values are not able to influence the quality of financial information. While work motivation and management control significantly influence the quality of financial information.

The Conflict Analysis Between the Asset Impairment Loss and Accounting Information Quality Requirements

New accounting standards set that once any loss of asset impairment is recognized, here mainly refer to long-term assets, it shall not be switched back in the future accounting periods. In the author＇s opinion, this provision has some conflicts with the accounting information quality requirements which require reliability, relevance, comparability, and caution. This paper mainly analyzes the contradictions by comparing the provision with the requirements and putting forward relevant solutions. In the end, this paper has drawn the conclusion that the loss of the long-term asset impairment shall be allowed to switch back with certain conditions.

Research on Information Quality Evaluation of Network Community

With the increasing popularity of the Internet,a large number of network communities have been born.The user generated content based on the Internet is constantly emerging,and the quality of network information is uneven.It is helpful to improve the competitiveness of community websites to evaluate the information quality.This paper constructs the evaluation index system of information quality of network community,determines the weight of each index by AHP,and establishes the information quality evaluation model by using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.The research in this paper has reference value for various types of website information quality evaluation.

Earnings information quality, debt maturity structure and investment efficiency

This paper studies the effect of earnings information quality and debt maturity structure and their interaction on investment efficiency. The results show that companies with higher earnings information have higher investment efficiency, and the quality of earnings information has increased investment efficiency by reducing the lack of investment and suppressing overinvestment. The companies with higher short-term debt ratio show higher investment efficiency. The results show that there is a certain substitution effect between the effect of earnings information quality and the maturity strueture of debt on the efficiency of investment.

The Effect of Social Responsibility Report Audit on the Quality of CSR Information Disclosure --Empirical Data from Chinese Listed Companies

As an important corporate govemance mechanism, external audit helps to improve corporate economic performance. Social responsibility report audit can supervise and constrain the disclosure of corporate social responsibility information, risk assessment and consulting planning, and improve the quality of information disclosure. Taking 2010-2013 listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen as samples for empirical test, we found that social responsibility report audit significantly improved the quality of corporate social responsibility information disclosure. Further study found that the greater the intensity of corporate shareholder oversight, social responsibility report audit on the quality of social responsibility to promote the quality of information disclosure more obvious. In addition, compared with the state-owned enterprises, the supervision of the major shareholders in the private enterprises to a greater extent enhanced the quality of social responsibility information disclosure.

Destructive Method with High Quality and Speed to Counter Information Hiding

Hidden information behavior is becoming more difficult to be detected, causing illegal information spreading. To counter information hiding, more complex and high-dimensional steganalysis methods are applied, and have good detection for some specific information hiding algorithms. However, huge time consumption is needed and only suitable for offline usage with this method. In this paper, a destructive method with high quality and speed is proposed to counter information hiding. The experimental result presents that the extracting error rate of hiding information is around 50%, which means the method can destroy the possible covert communication completely. At the same time, the quality of covers after the destructive operation is good and the average time of operating an image is millisecond.
