According to the aggregation of clustering method, R-tree was used to construct rules and specialty of spatial data. HCR-tree was the R-tree built with HCR algorithm. To test the efficiency of HCR algorithm, it was applied not only to the data organization of static R-tree but also to the nodes splitting of dynamic R-tree. The results show that R-tree with HCR has some advantages such as higher searching efficiency, less disk accesses and so on.展开更多

Burkina Faso, which is undergoing rapid urbanization, faces major natural threats, particularly flooding, as demonstrated by the severe floods of 2009 that caused loss of life, injury, structural damage and economic losses in Ouagadougou. The aim of this research is to develop a web map highlighting the municipality’s flood-prone areas, with a view to informing and raising awareness of flood risk reduction. Using the Leaflet JavaScript mapping library, the study uses HTML, CSS and JavaScript to implement web mapping technology. Data on Ouagadougou’s flood zones is generated by a multi-criteria analysis combining Saaty’s AHP method and GIS in QGIS, integrating seven (7) parameters including hydrography, altitude, slope, rainfall, soil types, land use and soil moisture index. QGIS processes and maps the themes, PostgreSQL with PostGIS serves as the DBMS and GeoServer functions as the map server. The Web GIS platform allows users to visualize the different flood risks, from very low to very high, or the high-risk areas specific to Ouagadougou. The AHP calculations classify the municipality into five flood vulnerability zones: very low (24.48%), low (27.93%), medium (23.01%), high (17.11%) and very high (7.47%). Effective risk management requires communication and awareness-raising. This online mapping application serves as a tool for communication, management and flood prevention in Ouagadougou, helping to mitigate flood-related natural disasters.展开更多

The study pinpoints Evacuation Assembly Points (E.A.P.s) on the outskirts of their settlement and examines the evacuation routes accessibility and safety by way of utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GISs). What is more, our meticulously planned methodology combining quantitative analysis, as well as participatory planning, allows for improve strategies targeted on how to effectively ensure the vulnerable population groups evacuation. The study’s results exhibit how vital it is to integrate technological tools in combination with each community’s partaking in the process of preparing and implementing evacuation plans. The study’s findings furthermore suggest the need to further research the evolution of dynamic evacuation models, which would take the ever-changing and ever-evolving needs of vulnerable population groups into account.展开更多

It is therefore necessary to orientate soil investigations based on reliable criteria that best discriminate soil cover. With this in mind, this study is being carried out to help improve survey methods by mapping soil landscapes. It uses GIS and weighted multicriteria analysis. To do this, satellite images were processed and the geological map of the square degrees of M’Bahiakro and Daloa was reclassified. The results show that relief is the main factor in soil landscape differentiation, with respective weights of 0.58 and 0.67 for the forest and pre-forest zones. In contrast, the weight of geological formation in soil landscape differentiation remains low (0.05 for the forest zone and 0.07 for the pre-forest zone). The criteria used on the base of aggregation sum methods have made it possible to formulate soil landscape mapping prediction functions according to agro-ecological environments in the humid intertropical zone. This is essential for the orientation of soil survey work. Nevertheless, other comparative methods, such as the coding mapping method, could provide elements for discussion to validate the models.展开更多
