In dieser Arbeit wurde die Mglichkeit der bertragung der HCV-Infektion durch familire Kontakte vorlufig studiert. 13ei 16 Patienten mit Hepatitis C (7 Mnner und 9 Frauen , 13 mit chronischer und 3 mit akuter Hepatitis...In dieser Arbeit wurde die Mglichkeit der bertragung der HCV-Infektion durch familire Kontakte vorlufig studiert. 13ei 16 Patienten mit Hepatitis C (7 Mnner und 9 Frauen , 13 mit chronischer und 3 mit akuter Hepatitis), bei denen HCV RNS im Serum positiv war, wurde HCV RNS im Speichel , im Sperma bzw. im Vaginalsekret mittels RT-nested PCR untersucht. Die positive Rate von HCV RNS in den Krperflssigkeiten war unterschiedlich : 31 ,25 % (5/16) im Speichel, 57, 14 % (4/7) im Sperma und 22, 22%(2/9) im Vaginalsekret. Die Familienangehrigen der 16 Patienten (16 Ehepartner und 26 Kinder) wurden ebenfalls auf HCV-Infektion untersucht. Bei 2 Ehepartnern, einer Frau und einem Mann, war HCV RNS im Serum positiv, dagegen waren alle brigen Angehrigen HCV RNS und Anti-HCV negativ. Demnach kann die potentielle Gefahr der bertragung der HCV-Infektion durch familire Kontakte bestehen.展开更多

The other category, Un-Weighted Number Syst...Number Systems are media for representing numbers;the popular ones being the Weighted Number Systems (WNS), which sometimes propagate carries during arithmetic computations. The other category, Un-Weighted Number Systems, of which the Residue Number System (RNS) belongs, do not carry weights but have not yet found widespread usage in general purpose computing as a result of some challenges;one of the main challenges of RNS is overflow detection and correction. The presence of errors in calculated values due to such factors as overflow means that systems built on this number system will continue to fail until serious steps are taken to resolve the issue. In this paper, a scheme for detecting and correcting overflow during RNS addition is presented. The proposed scheme used mixed radix digits to evaluate the magnitude of the addends in order to detect the occurrence of overflow in their sum. The scheme also demonstrated a simplified technique of correcting the overflow in the event that it occurs. An analysis of the hardware requirements and speed limitations of the scheme showed that it performs considerably better in relation to similar state of art schemes.展开更多

The performance analysis is carried out in terms of the hardware utilization, timing complexity and efficiency. The arithmetic units based on these number systems were employed in designing various modulation schemes like Binary Frequency Shift Keying (BFSK) modulator/demodulator. The analysis of the performance of the proposed modulator on above mentioned number systems indicates the superiority of other number systems over binary number system.展开更多

The purpose of this research was to explore the perspectives o...In our changing health care system, the role of registered nurses (RNs) has become indistinguishable from other nursing and health care providers’ roles. The purpose of this research was to explore the perspectives of nurse leaders and direct care RNs about the existing and future RN scope of practice. This research used an interpretive description analysis on data that was garnered from nurse leaders and RNs through separate focus groups. Participants identified existing threats to their roles, examined their scope of practice and proposed changes to the RN scope of practice. Specific areas that were identified included leadership, advocacy and expansion of RNs practices were dominant themes.展开更多
