The x-ray self-emission images present azimuthally correlated perturbations in the liner implosions. The experiments show that at-10 ns before the stagnation, the wavelengths of perturbation are about 0.93 mm and 1.67 mm for the small-radius and large-radius liners, respectively. We have utilized the resistive magnetohydrodynamic code PLUTO to study the development of magneto-Rayleigh–Taylor(MRT) instabilities under experimental conditions. The calculated perturbation amplitudes are consistent with the experimental observations very well. We have found that both mode coupling and long implosion distance are responsible for the more developed instabilities in the large-radius liner implosions.展开更多

An extensive simulation process is conducted to evaluate their controlling of type 1 error and their power functions. Generally, the weighted Kolmogrov-Smirnov test statistics show a relatively better performance than both, the Cramer von-Miss and the Anderson Darling test statistics. For large sample values, the Anderson Darling test statistics cannot control type 1 error but for relatively small sample values it indicates a better performance than the Cramer von-Miss test statistics. Best selection of the test statistics and highlights for future studies are also explored.展开更多

This algorithm is applied to real SAR images and compared with traditional Otsu algorithm and other MET algorithms based on various models of histogram. The hypothesis of using Rayleigh distribution model is confirmed by Kolmogorov-Smirnov testing and the comparison results obtained show that the proposed new algorithm has good performance in thresholding SAR images.展开更多

Various techniques, both static and dynamic, are used for reliability modeling and prediction in the context of software risk management. The single-phase Rayleigh model is a dynamic reliability model;however, it is not suitable for software release date prediction. We propose a new multi-phase truncated Rayleigh model and obtain parameter estimation using the nonlinear least squares method. The proposed model has been successfully tested in a large software company for several software projects. It is shown that the two-phase truncated Rayleigh model outperforms the traditional single-phase Rayleigh model in modeling weekly software defect arrival data. The model is useful for project management in planning release times and defect management.展开更多
