The situation, in which absorbers are located at different depths with respect to the limited-view scanning trajectory, is called depth imaging and is investigated in this paper. The results show that limited-view scanning causes the reconstructed intensity of deep absorbers to be weaker than that of shallow ones and that deep absorbers will be invisible if the scanning range is too small. The concept of effective scanning angle is proposed to analyse that phenomenon. We find that an effective scanning angle can well predict the relationship between scanning angle and the intensity ratio of absorbers. In addition, limited-view scanning is employed to improve image quality.展开更多

The spectral information of a point target is imaged on the pixels c...A light field modulated imaging spectrometer (LFMIS) can acquire the spatial-spectral datacube of targets of interest or a scene in a single shot. The spectral information of a point target is imaged on the pixels covered by a microlens. The pixels receive spectral information from different spectral filters to the diffraction and misalignments of the optical components. In this paper, we present a linear spectral multiplexing model of the acquired target spectrum. A calibration method is proposed for calibrating the center wavelengths and bandwidths of channels of an LFMIS system based on the liner-variable filter (LVF) and for determining the spectral multiplexing matrix. In order to improve the accuracy of the restored spectral data, we introduce a reconstruction algorithm based on the total least square (TLS) approach. Simulation and experimental results confirm the performance of the spectrum reconstruction algorithm and validate the feasibility of the proposed calibrating scheme.展开更多

Ground water, salt weathering, air pollution, b...The architectural?complexes?of Hasan Basha Tahir?were suffering from many damages and deformation in different elements as load bearing walls, arches and wooden ceiling. Ground water, salt weathering, air pollution, biological colonization and environmental aspects were the main degradation factors which caused a lot of damage and deterioration phenomena in the complexes. Horizontal and vertical cracks, salts, loss of decorations, and featured dark of the stone surface were noticed at the complexes elements. In addition, the celling of the complex was in a very bad condition;?it had lost a lot of decoration elements, cracking, soot deposition, insects’ holes, and fungi growth. This research will discuss the various deterioration phenomena that?have?effect on the main building materials and cause the damages and discuss the general scientific methodology of the architectural and structural conservation project which was?carried out.展开更多

Based on the theory proposed, the prin...In this paper a new theory referred to as the decrease-radix design (DRD) is proposed, which is found in the research of logic units of ternary (tri-valued) optical computer. Based on the theory proposed, the principles and the regulations of the DRD for making operation units of multi-valued operation with carrying/borrowing free are also presented. The research work has come to the following important conclusion: let D be a special state contained in n physical informative states, then one may figure out any multi-valued processors within n^(n×n) carrying/borrowing free n-valued units by the composition some of n×n×(n-1) simplest basic operating units according to the regulations of DRD proposed in this paper. The detailed systematic way of our design regulations is highlighted step by step in the paper with an example of design of a tri-valued logic optical operating unit. The real architecture, the procedure, and the experimental results of our sample in tri-valued logic operating unit are given. Finally, a re-constructible model of ternary logical optical processor is introduced. The theory proposed in the paper has laid down a solid foundation for the design of re-constructible carrying/borrowing free operating units in ternary optical computers and can be widely used as the designing reference in a variety of multi-valued logic operating units.展开更多
