Innovative Teaching Research on Literary Theory and Criticism

As a core compulsory course for English majors majoring in teacher education,Literary Theory and Criticism plays an important role in enhancing text understanding,cultivating critical thinking,and shaping correct values in the future development of students.Influenced by traditional teaching ideas,students have many difficulties when learning this course,such as insufficient theoretical understanding,inadequate ability improvement,and not enough investment in course learning.In response to the above issues,this course focuses closely on the fundamental task of“cultivating virtue and nurturing people”,relying on modern information technology and introducing research methods of digital humanities.This course uses“7C”teaching mode under the“three-level integration”,in which“teaching”and“education”are carried out synchronously,and“teacher”and“student”are developed together,in order to greatly enhance students’learning participation and course satisfaction.

On Ethical Literary Criticism and Game Theory--An Interview with Professor Nie Zhenzhao

In 2014,Huang Kaihong,a professor at School of Foreign Languages and Cultures,Southwest University of Science and Technology,interviewed the Doctoral advisor Professor Nie Zhenzhao during the period of his academic visiting to Central China Normal University.As early as in 2005,Huang Kaihong conducted an interview with Professor Nie Zhenzhao on the topic of the general introduction of ethical literary criticism.So around 11 years later,the second interview mainly covers not only the ethical literary criticism theory,but the game theory and the relationship between them as well.Professor Nie thinks whether the game theory can be applied to literature research is still under discussion.The theory of ethical literary criticism is a kind of methodology based on science and it can get the attention of literary critics at home and abroad,which is because it fits the practical needs of literary criticism,draws the literary criticism away from only emphasizing criticism genres and the research of criticism terms,and pays attention to the true nature of the literary text in literature research.After consulting Professor Nie Zhenzhao about some related questions from the perspective of game theory.Huang Kaihong gets some significant information concerning literature research and understands the latest core terms and the concrete application method of ethical literary criticism,especially the relationship between the instructing and aesthetic functions of literature.

Prediction and critical transition mechanism for granite fracture:Insights from critical slowing down theory

Rock fracture warning is one of the significant challenges in rock mechanics.Many true triaxial and synchronous acoustic emission(AE)tests were conducted on granite samples.The investigation focused on the characteristics of AE signals preceding granite fracture,based on the critical slowing down(CSD)theory.The granite undergoes a transition from the stable phase to the fracture phase and exhibits a clear CSD phenomenon,characterized by a pronounced increase in variance and autocorrelation coefficient.The variance mutation points were found to be more identifiable and suitable as the primary criterion for predicting precursor information related to granite fracture,compared to the autocorrelation coefficient.It is noteworthy to emphasize that the CSD factor holds greater potential in elucidating the underlying mechanisms responsible for the critical transition of granite fracture,in comparison to the AE timing parameters.Furthermore,a novel multi-parameter collaborative prediction method for rock fracture was developed by comprehensively analyzing predictive information,including abnormal variation modes and the CSD factor of AE characteristic parameters.This method enhances the understanding and prediction of rock fracture-related geohazards.

My Response to Reader-Response Criticism and the Analysis of Satan in ＂Paradise Lost＂

In the early 1970s, reader-response criticism rose to prominence in literary analysis, which concerns readers most, and it still influences much contemporary criticism. Firstly, this paper summarizes the general views of reader-response criticism. And then the paper analyzes the personality of Satan in"Paradise Lost"to show my understanding of Satan. Finally, the paper presents my response to reader-response criticism.

Analysis of Animal Farm from the Perspective of Reader-Response Criticism

Reader-Response Criticism emphasizes the leading role of readers in the reading process.This paper starting from the four aspects of background,the protagonist’s name,characters’experience and the design of ending in Animal Farm,analyzes the horizons of expectation,indeterminacy and the“blank”in the work,and explores the interaction between readers and the work.

基于扎根理论及G1-CRITIC-距离函数判法-VIKOR的铁路建设项目安全管理标准化评价

为促进安全管理标准化管理模式顺利实施,铁路建设项目安全管理迈向高标准高水平,开展铁路建设项目安全管理标准化评价研究。首先,以标准化管理为理论基础,根据质性研究方法-扎根理论对数据进行编码处理,建立以制度管理标准化、人员配备标准化、物料管理标准化、环境管理标准化、现场作业标准化、过程控制标准化为6个核心范畴和32个主范畴的铁路建设项目安全管理标准化评价指标体系。其次,借助劳伦茨曲线的基尼系数改进CRITIC方法,提出“G1-CRITIC-距离函数判别法”模型,计算属性权重。最后,采用VIKOR算法对案例项目进行实证分析,基于安全管理标准化值U_(R)评估标准化管理水平。结果表明:各案例项目的安全管理标准化水平不同,U_(R)值具有显著差异,P_(1)~P_(5)各项目的U_R值分别为0.047 6、0.148 3、0.451 9、0.971 5、0.648(其中P_(4)属于“高水平”;P_(3)和P_(5)属于“中水平”;P_(1)和P_(2)属于“低水平”)。通过折衷系数扰动下的敏感性分析,综合考虑群体效用和个体妥协,对不同等级的建设项目(P_(1)~P_(5))分别进行讨论,并提出标准化建设的决策建议。研究结果与各案例项目实际安全管理标准化程度相符,为深入推进铁路建设项目标准化管理工作、促进建设项目各项安全管理行为规范运作和管理体系的持续改进提供参考依据。

Reflections on Cultivating Critical Thinking in Foreign Language Courses in the Context of Integrating Ideological and Political Theories in All Courses

The education reform of integrating ideological and political theories in all courses is crucial in fostering virtue through education.In the new era,foreign language courses are increasingly prominent in moral education.Learning a language is not just about mastering its language form but also about critically examining the cultural connotations and thinking patterns embedded within it.Therefore,cultivating students’critical thinking skills should be a key focus in foreign language education.First,this paper examines the importance of fostering students’critical thinking in foreign language courses.Second,considering the characteristics of Chinese college foreign language courses,we propose that if we want to cultivate critical thinking among students through foreign language courses,we need to effect pattern transformations across four aspects:teaching philosophy,teaching content,teaching methodology,and teaching evaluation.These transformations also present requirements for foreign language teachers.They should focus on enhancing their comprehensive literacy,including ideological and political literacy,teaching design skills,and the ability to integrate teaching materials with logical thinking.And China’s Standards of English Language Ability(the CSE)serves as an important reference indicator for implementing these transformations.

A Study of Attitude in Art Criticism

Functional linguistic research focuses on the dimension of"implementation,"with research on"instance"and"individuation"being relatively scarce.However,Appraisal Theory provides a comprehensive method for realizing"instance"and"individuation".Appraisal Theory,as a type of empirical research method with strong capabilities in both operation and application,is heavily involved in a variety of fields such as literature,art,philosophy,news,and law.Overall,research in the arts is deficient.This study employs Appraisal Theory as a framework for analyzing the discourse of art criticism from the perspective of the attitude system,analyzing 83 art critiques chosen for their semantic meaning of emotion and valuation endowed by the writers in critical language.It performs identification,analysis,and classification on corpus resources in order to investigate the application of Appraisal theory in art criticism and summarize representation and feature of these attitudinal resources used.The author concludes that the attitudinal resources all involve affect,judgment,and appreciation,but are distributed unevenly.The feature demonstrates that more appreciation than affect and judgement is involved,more positive meaning than negative meaning is conveyed,and an explicit rather than implicit method is used.According to this study,the attitudinal resources effectively contribute to the establishment of relationships among the writer,artworks,and the potential reader,and they function well in appraisal by establishing a"resonance"relationship between the artwork and the potential reader within person.

MULTIPLE SOLUTIONS TO CRITICAL MAGNETIC SCHRODINGER EQUATIONS

In this paper,we are concerned with the existence of multiple solutions to the critical magnetic Schrödinger equation(-i▽-a(x))^(2)u+⒂λV(x)u=p|u|^(p-2)u+(∫R(n)|u(y)|^(2)_(a)^(*)/|x-y|^(a)dy)|u|2_(a)^(*)-2_(u)in R^(N),(0.1)where N≥4,2≤p<2^(*),2_α^(*)=(2N-α)/(N-2)with 0<α<4,λ>0,μ∈R,A(x)=(A_(1)(x),A_(2)(x),…,A_(N)(x))is a real local Hölder continuous vector function,i is the imaginary unit,and V(x)is a real valued potential function on R^(N).Supposing thatΩ=int V^(-1)(0)■R^(N)is bounded,we show that problem(0.1)possesses at least cat_(Ω)(Ω)nontrivial solutions ifλis large.

基于改进CRITIC-FAHP理论的大型水闸安全运行多级模糊综合评价

基于《水利工程管理现代化评价指标体系》(DB34/T2990-2017)构建水闸安全运行管理评估体系,选取5个准则层指标,15个指标层一级指标,38个指标层二级指标作为反映水闸运行安全状况的影响因素。通过三级模糊层次分析理论计算出各指标权重,采用改进CRITIC法算出指标权重,从而计算出综合权重,判定影响大型水闸安全运行的最重要因素。结果表明,本文所建立的水闸安全运行管理综合评价模型方法具有科学性与有效性,并根据评价结果提出了针对相应指标的改善措施及建议。基于本次提出的方法,设想建立一套标准化体系用于纵向比较同类型水闸安全运行效果,可为水闸工程管理工作提供可靠的理论依据。

Infinitely Many Solutions and a Ground-State Solution for Klein-Gordon Equation Coupled with Born-Infeld Theory

In this paper, we intend to consider a kind of nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation coupled with Born-Infeld theory. By using critical point theory and the method of Nehari manifold, we obtain two existing results of infinitely many high-energy radial solutions and a ground-state solution for this kind of system, which improve and generalize some related results in the literature.

The Benign Interaction among Literary Creation, Criticism and Theory from the Perspective of Bottom Writing： Taking ＂Tu Ziqiang＇s Personal Sorrow＂ as an Example

The heated conversations about Fang Fang＇s ＂Tu Ziqiang＇s Personal Sorrow＂ among the author, readers and critics are a typical example of the bottom literature which emerged in the 1990s. Starting with the controversies aroused by the novella, this paper discusses the relationships among literary creation, criticism and theory in the bottom writing. The problem of the social bottom is not only an economic or political problem, but also such a complicated cultural problem that has attracted increasing attention in the field of human science. As it were, around the problem of the bottom class, a new public field integrating different kinds of writing forms and various theoretical materials is formed. The Benign interaction among literary creation, criticism and theory will both benefit to the overall development of literature and provide resources for the theoretical construction.

A Study of Archetypal Criticism

Archetypal criticism originates from anthropology, psychology and literary criticism. It is also a new and international attempt for us to discuss about the origin of literature and its development. Archetypal Criticism is an important genre of the Literature Criticism. It has great impact not only on the West Literature Criticism but also on the Chinese Literature. As a means for analyzing literary works, archetypal criticism expands the space of literature analysis. It is also propitious for people to reveal the deep thinking and deep human psychology in literary works. In the field of today's art and literary criticism, archetypal criticism is still of important significance and worth studying.

SOLUTIONS TO DISCRETE MULTIPARAMETER PERIODIC BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS INVOLVING THE p-LAPLACIAN VIA CRITICAL POINT THEORY

In this paper, we consider the existence of three nontrivial solutions for a discrete non-linear multiparameter periodic problem involving the p-Laplacian. By using the similar method for the Dirichlet boundary value problems in [C. Bonanno and P. Candito, Appl. Anal., 88（4） （2009）, pp. 605-616], we construct two new strong maximum principles and obtain that the boundary value problem has three positive solutions for λ and μ in some suitable intervals. The approaches we use are the critical point theory.

基于改进CRITIC-Bayes网络的激光武器毁伤效果评估方法

针对目标毁伤信息的不确定性,提出了一种基于改进CRITIC-Bayes网络的激光武器毁伤效果评估方法。确定激光武器反导的毁伤因子,引入博弈论思想,结合专家经验信息确定的主观权重与CRITIC赋权法确定的客观权重,对毁伤因子进行赋权;以Bayes网络为基础,以反舰导弹的控制仓为毁伤部位,建立激光武器毁伤效果评估模型。在实例中通过不同的方法比较验证该模型的有效性,为解决不确定环境下作战决策提供理论依据。

Stability Analysis of a Single-Degree-of Freedom Mechanical Model with Distinct Critical Points: I. Bifurcation Theory Approach

The buckling and post-buckling response of a single-degree-of-freedom mechanical model is re-examined in this work, within the context of nonlinear stability and bifurcation theory. This system has been reported in pioneer as well as in more recent literature to exhibit all kinds of distinct critical points. Its response is thoroughly discussed, the effect of all parameters involved is extensively examined, including imperfection sensitivity, and the results obtained lead to the important conclusion that the model is possibly associated with the butterfly singularity, a fact which will be validated by the contents of a companion paper, based on catastrophe theory.

Self-Organized Criticality Theory Model of Thermal Sandpile

A self-organized criticality model of a thermal sandpile is formulated for the first time to simulate the dynamic process with interaction between avalanche events on the fast time scale and diffusive transports on the slow time scale. The main characteristics of the model are that both particle and energy avalanches of sand grains are considered simultaneously. Properties of intermittent transport and improved confinement are analyzed in detail. The results imply that the intermittent phenomenon such as blobs in the low confinement mode as well as edge localized modes in the high confinement mode observed in tokamak experiments are not only determined by the edge plasma physics, but also affected by the core plasma dynamics.

Correlation of Critical Loci for Water-Hydrocarbon Binary Systems by EOS Based on the Multi-Fluid Nonrandom Lattice Theory

Quantitative representation of complicated behavior of fluid mixtures in the critical region by any of equation-of-state theories re-mains as a difficult thermodynamic topics to date. In the present work, a computational efforts were made for representing various types of critical loci of binary water with hydrocarbon systems showing Type II and Type III phase behavior by an elementary equation of state [called multi-fluid nonrandom lattice fluid EOS (MF-NLF EOS)] based on the lattice statistical mechanical theory. The model EOS requires two mo-lecular parameters which representing molecular size and interaction energy for a pure component and single adjustable interaction energy pa-rameter for binary mixtures. Critical temperature and pressure data were used to obtain molecular size parameter and vapor pressure data were used to obtain interaction energy parameter. The MF-NLF EOS model adapted in the present study correlated quantitatively well the critical loci of various binary water with hydrocarbon systems.

Anisotropy of Critical Fields in MgB_2: Two-Band Ginzburg-Landau Theory for Layered Superconductors

The temperature dependence of the anisotropy parameter of upper critical field γHe2 （T） = Hc2^‖ （T） /Hc2^⊥ （T） and London penetration depth γλ （T） = λ‖（T）/λ⊥ （T） are calculated using two-band Ginzburg-Landau theory for layered superconductors. It is shown that, with decreasing temperature the anisotropy parameter γHc2 （T） is increased, while the London penetration depth anisotropy γλ（T） reveals an opposite behavior. Results of our calculations are in agreement with experimental data for single crystal MgB2 and with other calculations..Results of an analysis of magnetic field Hc1 in a single vortex between superconducting layers are also presented.

Stability Analysis of a SDOF Mechanical Model with Distinct Critical Points: II. Catastrophe Theory Approach

In a recent publication [1], the fully nonlinear stability analysis of a Single-Degree-of Freedom (SDOF) model with distinct critical points was dealt with on the basis of bifurcation theory, and it was demonstrated that this system is associated with the butterfly singularity. The present work is the companion one, tackling the problem via the Theory of Catastrophes. After Taylor expanding the original potential energy function and introducing Padè approximants of the trigonometric expression involved, the resulting truncated potential is a universal unfolding of the original one and an extended canonical form of the butterfly catastrophe potential energy function. Results in terms of equilibrium paths, bifurcation sets and manifold hyper-surface projections fully validate the whole analysis, being in excellent agreement with the findings obtained via bifurcation theory.
