The practical applications of high-capacity alloy-type anode materials in sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)are challenged by their vast volume effects and resulting unstable electrode-electrolyte interphases during discharge...The practical applications of high-capacity alloy-type anode materials in sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)are challenged by their vast volume effects and resulting unstable electrode-electrolyte interphases during discharge-charge cycling.Taking red phosphorus(P)/carbon anode material as an example,we report an on-site conversion reaction to intentionally eliminate the volume effect-dominated surface P and yield an ionically conducting layer of Na3PS4solid-state electrolyte on the composite.Such a surface reconstruction can significantly suppress the electrode swelling and simultaneously enable the activation energy of interfacial Na+transfer as low as 36.7 k J mol^(-1),resulting in excellent electrode stability and ultrafast reaction kinetics.Consequently,excellent cycling performance(510 mA h g^(-1)at 5 A g^(-1)after 1000 cycles with a tiny capacity fading rate of 0.016%per cycle)and outstanding rate capability(484 mA h g^(-1)at 10 A g^(-1)are achieved in half cells.When coupled with Na_(3)V_(2)(PO4)3cathode,the full cells exhibit 100%capacity retention over 200 cycles at 5C with an average Coulombic efficiency of 99.93%and a high energy density of 125.5 W h kg^(-1)at a power density of 8215.6 W kg^(-1)(charge or discharge within~49 s).Remarkably,the full cell can steadily operate at a high areal capacity of 1.9 mA h cm^(-2),the highest level among red P-based full SIBs ever reported.展开更多

These allergic reactions are mainly caused by its venom, especially venom allergen Sol i 1-4. To produce large amount of RIFA venom allergen Sol i 4 for diagnosis of RIFA allergy and allergen-specific immunotherapy, the gene encoding this protein was amplified and cloned into the prokaryotic expression vector pET43, la. The recombinant plasmid was used to transform competent cells and the recombinant proteins were expressed in E. coll. SDS-PAGE and Western blotting analysis indicated that high-level expression of Sol i 4 protein was successfully achieved. Allergenic activity analysis of the recombinant allergen Sol i 4 was then performed on rabbit. The result showed that the recombinant protein obtained had significant allergenic activity. It indicated that the recombinant allergen Sol i 4 of RIFA venom was successfully expressed in E. coli, which provided foundation for further developing therapeutic and diagnosis reagents of RIFA allergy.展开更多
Background:The regulatory genes related to lipid metabolism affect the intramuscular fat(IMF)content and improve meat quality traits.Mediator Complex Subunit 4(MED4),a vitamin D receptor protein,affects vitamin D,live...Background:The regulatory genes related to lipid metabolism affect the intramuscular fat(IMF)content and improve meat quality traits.Mediator Complex Subunit 4(MED4),a vitamin D receptor protein,affects vitamin D,livestock growth,carcass traits,and triglyceride deposition.However,the physiological function of the MED4 gene on bovine adipocyte differentiation remains unknown.Methods:This study explored the function of the MED4 gene in preadipocyte differentiation in Chinese Red Steppe cattle.The overexpression plasmid and the interference sequences of the MED4 gene were constructed to detect the effects of the MED4 gene on adipogenesis and biomakers using quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blotting.Results:The MED4 gene had significantly high expression during preadipocyte differentiation(p<0.05).Overexpression of the MED4 gene increased the expression of the PPARγgene,a preadipocyte differentiation biomarker,improved cellular lipid droplets and triglycerides accumulation,and positively accelerated adipocyte maturation(p<0.05).Interference of the MED4 gene can negatively regulate preadipocyte differentiation.Conclusion:This study showed that the MED4 gene may affect the preadipocyte differentiation and adipogenesis in Chinese Red Steppe cattle by regulating the PPARγgene.展开更多

The crystal structure, surface morphology and luminescence properties were i...A series of(Y_(1-y), Gdy)_(0.95-x)(P_y, V_(1-y))O_4 :0.05Eu^(3+), xBi^(3+)+phosphors have been successfully prepared by a subsection method. The crystal structure, surface morphology and luminescence properties were investigated. It was found that the sintered samples crystallized in a tetragonal crystal system with space group I_(41)/amd(a = b = 0.7119 nm, c = 0.6290 nm). The products presented rod-like morphology with length of 100-150 nm and width of 50-100 nm. A maximum peak at 619 nm(~5D_0 →~7F_2) was observed in emission spectrum of the phosphors. It was also found that co-doping of Bi^(3+)+, P5+and Gd^(3+)ions into YVO_4:Eu^(3+)can not only made the right edge of the excitation band shift to the long-wavelength region, but also increased the emission intensity at 619 nm sharply and decreased the lifetime of fluorescence decay. These results may expand the application scope of the phosphors.展开更多

Sishili Bay is the most important aquiculture and tourism area for the city of Yantai, China; however, red tides occurred frequently and have caused huge economic losses in this bay in recent years. To gain a better u...Sishili Bay is the most important aquiculture and tourism area for the city of Yantai, China; however, red tides occurred frequently and have caused huge economic losses in this bay in recent years. To gain a better understanding of the local ecological environments in the bay, we conducted this research between 2003 and 2008 to analyze variations in nutrients and chlorophyll (chl-a) during high frequency red tide period (May to September). The results show that the chl-a concentration increased from 2.70 in 2003 to 7.26 mg/m3 in 2008, while the concentration of total inorganic nitrogen (TIN) and silicate (SiO3-Si) increased lineally from 5.18 and 1.45 pmol/L in 2003 to 18.57 and 9.52 pmol/L in 2008, respectively, and the annual phosphate (PO4-P) varied between 0.15 and 0.46 μmol/L. Special attention was given to a red tide in August 2007 occurred when water temperature was high and nutrient concentrations increased sharply because of a heavy rainfall. Overall, the results show the P limitation in Sishili Bay, and reveal that red tides were caused by eutrophication from terrestrial inputs and local warm weather, particularly during rainy periods. Therefore, to control red tide, greater efforts should be made to reduce sewage discharges into Sishili Bay, particularly during rainfall seasons.展开更多

It was found that the excitation spectrum included two regions: the weak excitation band below 325 nm and strong narrow peaks above 325 nm. The main peak of the excitation band was located at 400 nm. The peaks located at 290 nm were assigned to the combination of the charge transfer transition of O-Eu, peaks above 325 nm (325, 385, 400, 470, 511, and 539 nm) were assigned to the f-f transitions of Eu^3+. The emission spectrum was dominated by the red peak located at 612 nm due to the electric dipole transition of ^5D0-^7F2. In addition, the effects of the Eu^3+ content and charge compensators of Li^+, Na^+, K^+, and Cl^- ions on the emission intensity were investigated. The experiment results suggested that the strongest emission was obtained when the concentration of the Eu^3+ ions was 0.3 mol^-1, and Li^+ ions gave the best improvement to enhance the emission intensity. Ca2SiO4:Eu^3+, Li^+ was thus suitable for low-cost trichromatic white light emitting diodes (WLED) based on UV InGaN chip.展开更多
