Background:College students face significant academic and physiological changes, making them more susceptible to psychological issues such as depression,self-injury,and suicidal ideation.Feelings of defeat can exacerbate these risks by increasing academic stress. However, interpersonal relationships can moderate the impact of academic stress on students’mental health.Utilizing the presage–process–product model, this study aims to empirically investigate how feelings of defeat influence depression,self-injury,and suicidal ideation among college students.Additionally,it explores the mediating role of academic stress and the moderating role of various types of interpersonal relationships. Methods:A total of 1612 college students(750 females,862 males, mean age=19.64±0.62 years)were recruited through cluster sampling.Data were collected via offline questionnaires administered by a trained psychology teacher and a postgraduate student, ensuring high reliability with two examiners per class.Latent profile analysis(LPA)was used to examine the impact of defeat on mental health outcomes, while mediation analysis was conducted to assess the roles of academic stress and interpersonal relationships.Results:1.Defeat is identified as a significant risk factor for mental health issues among college students;2.Four distinct patterns of interpersonal relationships were identified:the interpersonal-relationship risk group, the father–child-relationship high-risk group, the general interpersonal-relationship group, and the superior interpersonal-relationship group;3.Academic stress partially mediates the relationship between defeat and mental health issues such as depression,self-injury,and suicidal ideation;4.Different interpersonal relationship models moderate the impact of academic stress on depression and suicidal ideation. Conclusion:Defeat is a significant risk factor for mental health problems in college students.Academic stress partially mediates the negative impact of defeat on mental health, while patterns of interpersonal relationships moderate this impact.Effective early prevention and intervention should focus on monitoring students’stress levels and fostering warm, positive parent–child relationships. 展开更多

There're mainly two kinds of behaviors-Task Behaviors(TBs) and Relationship Behaviors(RBs) among the school leadership styles. TBs contribute to achieving the goals, while RBs help to promote the interpersonal relationships. However, different perceptions of social values and morals will have a great influence on establishing the good leader-teacher relationship and the teacher-student relationship, which is also no exception for the leadership styles. Thus, optimizing the leadership styles will enhance the leader-teacher relationship, and also benefit the teacher-student relationship. 展开更多

Smoking habits are thought to be strongly impacted by family relationships. In this study, we looked specifically at family relationships with the aim of finding effective anti-smoking education measures. We surveyed 290 university students in order to establish their current smoking habits, along with their family relationships from primary and junior high school until now. The results showed that students with one or more smokers in their family were clearly more likely to smoke. Furthermore, a poor relationship between the student’s parents and a poor relationship with his/her father are believed to have a causal relationship with the student smoking. In the section in which students were asked how often they were told to study, we found that students who smoked had been instructed to study a significantly higher number of times. It is believed that the stress experienced by students frequently told that they must study during their elementary or junior high school years leads to a tendency to smoke. Among the group of non-smokers, we found many who ate breakfast with their parents during elementary or junior high school, along with many who regularly went on holidays with their families. The lack of these things appears to distance parents from children and may be a factor regarding why children end up smoking. In this study, while no clear correlation was found between family relationships and smoking, several types of family relationships that may lead to smoking were suggested. 展开更多

The symptoms of PTSD are particularly believed to occur predominantly in children. We believe that Yogo teachers, who play a role in maintaining and promoting the health of children, are expected to provide appropriate support for children with a tendency for PTSD. In this study, we investigated the tendency for PTSD in students at University, as well as self-esteem related to depression and anxiety. Furthermore, we clarified the relationship between PTSD and self-esteem and examined the support provided by Yogo teachers. As a result, it was found that the higher the tendency for PTSD, the lower the self-esteem. We believe that the onset of PTSD causes a decline in memory ability and attentional function, which interferes with one’s life and leads to self-denial, resulting in a decline in self-esteem among those with a high tendency for PTSD. These results suggest that Yogo teachers should provide support to prevent the onset of PTSD in child students due to accidents, incidents, natural disasters, etc., as well as support to prevent the decline in self-esteem associated with the onset of PTSD. 展开更多

The most difficult and delicate part of the learning process is assessment.Assessment is difficult because during his/her accomplishment the teacher has to consider not only the acquisition of knowledge from students, but also the overall degree of development of their competencies. It is delicate, because through assessment we can influence the emotional side of students and their“willingness”to learn.Despite these facts, teachers need to evaluate students during the learning process. The purpose of the research is to find out what is the perception of teachers about the level of evaluation of students with final grade. The overall results showed that 89%of teachers agree,9%of them have a neutral attitude, and 2%do not agree that the evaluation of students with a final grade is done taking into account many aspects and using many methods, the overall average of the results,M=4.36.Based on the empirical results,it was found that teachers who have completed assessment training have a more positive approach to student assessment,as the average score is higher than teachers who have not completed assessment training. From the qualitative results it was understood that the Teachers did not encounter any difficulties during the assessment of the students. 展开更多

The purpose of this paper is to examine the development of a curriculum in Japan to foster the agency(OECD Student Agency)necessary for children living in the future,as outlined in the OECD Education2030 Project, and the role of teachers who implement this curriculum. Therefore,I aim to achieve this goal by taking an overview of educational thought, educational systems and history, and examining several initiatives in the OECD Project and the situation of a Japanese high school that practices science and mathematics education. As a result of analyzing previous research and the narratives obtained from interviews with Teacher A(pseudonym)of a certain F High School(pseudonym),it was found that school education should not simply teach subjects, but should aim to enable student to help student exercise agency in the future. It was suggested that it is not necessary to add content to the curriculum, but rather to prepare to provide students with competencies that will enable them to use the content in various contexts, situations, and circumstances, suggesting that in order to discover such important competencies, teachers and other related parties are required to implement curricula that allow students to slowly and carefully explore the competencies surrounding the content, and to conceive and build curricula that include both hidden and intended curriculum that allows student to reflect on the curriculum they have achieved. 展开更多

This article contributes to the widening of the international literature concerning the teacher-student relationship under different perspectives:cross-cultural,statistical,and applicative. This work strengthens the psychometric basis of the Student-Teacher Relationship Scale by confirming the three-dimensional structure of the original instrument. Therefore,on the basis of the factor analysis, the instrument proves to apply also to the Vietnamese context. The Student-Teacher Relationship Scale, given its validity, can be a serviceable tool for studying such a construct, both as a monitoring scale of a given relationship and as a way to help teachers achieve a better level of awareness of their educational skills. 展开更多

It is also a reflector of child centred teaching practices, classroom quality and child outcomes. These relationships are influenced by many factors that are personal to teacher and child and are also related to the classroom environment. Positive teacher-child relationships develop warm and secure teacher-child bondings which are beneficial for the socioemotional and academic success of the child. Dependent and conflictual teacher-child relationships are stressful for teachers and have a negative outcome for the child. This paper explores the literature to recognise the factors affecting teacher-child relationships and have proposed a conceptual framework to understand these relationships in ethnically and socioeconomically diverse classrooms. Literature has tried to define these relationships according to the attachment theory or through bio-ecological model of development thus ignoring the role of culture as a major factor in formation of these relationships. This paper used Bourdiue’s theory of Capital, Field and Habitus and Contextual System Model of Pianta as theoretical framework and proposes Cultural Framework for teacher-child relationships. 展开更多
