The Kunming Institute of Medical Biology is the largest primate center, specializing in the production of live poliomyelitis vaccine and recently, of live hepatitis vaccine as well. All these institutes have research laboratories of their own which are engaged in the improvement of existing products and development of new ones. The National Institute for Control of Phamaceutical and Biological Products, created in 1951, is responsible for the direction of laboratories located in each production institute, for the testing of natively produced as well as imported biological products and for the preparation and issuing of national standards. Three additional bodies managed directly by the Ministry of Public Health are: Office for the Review of Drugs (including biologicals), Committee for Standardization of Biological Products and Office for Supervision of Drugs. Laboratory information management system(LIMS)has been widely used to facilitate laboratory activities.However,the current LIMSs do not contain functions to improve the safety of laboratory work,which is the major con...Laboratory information management system(LIMS)has been widely used to facilitate laboratory activities.However,the current LIMSs do not contain functions to improve the safety of laboratory work,which is the major concern of biosafety laboratories(BSLs).With tons of biosafety information that need to be managed and an increasing number of biosafety-related research projects under way,it is worthy of expanding the current framework of LIMS and building a system that is more suitable for BSL usage.Such a system should carefully trade off between the safety and efficiency of regular lab activities,allowing the laboratory staff to conduct their research as free as possible while ensuring their and the environment’s safety.In order to achieve this goal,the information on the research contents,laboratory personnel,experimental materials and experimental equipment need to be well collected and fully utilized by a centralized system and its databases.展开更多
In this study,a novel series of cordycepin derivatives with benzenesulfonamido groups at the 6-position of the purine ring were synthesized and their antitumor activity was evaluated.We revealed the structural moietie...In this study,a novel series of cordycepin derivatives with benzenesulfonamido groups at the 6-position of the purine ring were synthesized and their antitumor activity was evaluated.We revealed the structural moieties of the cordycepin analogs that were required for antitumor activity.Among all the target compounds,those with 4-methyl and 4-nitro substituents on the benzene ring displayed better activity than the lead compound in antiproliferative activity experiments using MDA-MB-231 and A549 cells.However,compounds with 4-methoxybenzene and 2-oxoindoline groups and ethylene spacers displayed more significant activity than the lead compound in antiproliferative activity experiments using He La cells.In particular,a compound with a 4-bromo substituent and an ethylene spacer displayed very high inhibitory activity against the proliferation of MDA-MB-231,A549,and He La cells,suggesting that it had the potential for further development and application.展开更多
