The article analyzes the situation in which ethnographic studies found themselves at the turn of the third decade of the 21st century.The historical background,rooted in the past century,as well as the situation that ...The article analyzes the situation in which ethnographic studies found themselves at the turn of the third decade of the 21st century.The historical background,rooted in the past century,as well as the situation that developed by the end of the second decade,is considered at the general philosophical level,while the area that illustrates the situation was chosen taking into account the author’s professional orientation—ethnomusicology.The problems are divided into three groups.The first such group is devoted to new practices and information spaces that are constantly changing the situation.The second group concerns worldview aspects related to the perception of new ethnographers by the guild elders.A critique of the“decolonization”of ethnographic research as part of an overview of institutional and disciplinary barriers concludes the topics discussed in the article.展开更多
Purpose: This paper explores a method of knowledge discovery by visualizing and analyzing co-occurrence relations among three or more entities in collections of journal articles.Design/methodology/approach: A variety ...Purpose: This paper explores a method of knowledge discovery by visualizing and analyzing co-occurrence relations among three or more entities in collections of journal articles.Design/methodology/approach: A variety of methods such as the model construction,system analysis and experiments are used. The author has improved Morris' crossmapping technique and developed a technique for directly describing,visualizing and analyzing co-occurrence relations among three or more entities in collections of journal articles.Findings: The visualization tools and the knowledge discovery method can efficiently reveal the multiple co-occurrence relations among three entities in collections of journal papers. It can reveal more and in-depth information than analyzing co-occurrence relations between two entities. Therefore,this method can be used for mapping knowledge domain that is manifested in association with the entities from multi-dimensional perspectives and in an all-round way.Research limitations: The technique could only be used to analyze co-occurrence relations of less than three entities at present.Practical implications: This research has expanded the study scope of co-occurrence analysis.The research result has provided a theoretical support for co-occurrence analysis.Originality/value: There has not been a systematic study on co-occurrence relations among multiple entities in collections of journal articles. The methodology of school resea...The major importance of forests is critical to the survival on planet Earth. Forests are threatened by a lot of dangers and all of us have to contribute to the fight for their survival. The methodology of school research on pine woods which is described below, aims to cultivate more sensitive, educated and activated students, by accordingly specialized teachers who are going to organize the educational background, also to decide techniques and materials for the easiest and most effective learning, for the cultivation of values, attitudes and friendly behaviors towards forests. The suggested methodology is based on the findings of a European Comenius Program and two Programs of Environmental Education. The research usually takes place in a pine land, by using a worksheet as experimental tool, and focuses on the vitality of the trees, the biodiversity, the effects of pollution and other cultural elements related to the pine bio-community. There is also a lot of informative discussion and research over cultural, social and economical factors with locals and specialists.展开更多

It has gradually become a relativel...As an important branch of human geography, transportation geography has experienced three periods of evolution: foundation, systematization, and rapid development of the discipline. It has gradually become a relatively mature discipline. During the period 1930– 1980, the development of transportation geography consisted mainly of the publication of theoretical texts. During 1980–2000, it gradually became a systematic discipline. Since the start of the 21 st century, transportation geography has focused mainly on exploring the impacts of transportation on socio-economic development. Currently, studies on transportation geography have led to significant developments in a number of areas, including transportation theory, facility distribution and planning, transportation flows and network analysis, evaluation of transport modes, transportation planning, and simulation and assessment of urban transportation. Such studies have also enriched human geography research, provided a wider geographical overview and elucidated the development mechanism of transportation, as well as helped to understand the impacts of transport development on socio-economic systems. Some findings obtained by geographers have been widely used in transportation geography and related fields, including the four basic laws of transportation generation, the hub–spoke mode of transport organization, the subordinating and guiding functions of transportation on socio-economic development, regional transport dominance measures, accessibility measures, and spatial organization of port systems.展开更多

FETF can be employed to generate a Virtual Acoustic Space (VAS) by computer and other equlpment. In this paper the methods to improve the measurement and estimation of FETF are approached. Least-mean-squares (LMS)method is much better than empirical FFT method. This paper also gives a sample description of excitation signals for measuring the impulse response of FETF.展开更多
