The system is composed of stable inversion and ... The capability to perform fast load-following has been an important issue in the power industry. An output tracking control system of a boiler-turbine unit is developed. The system is composed of stable inversion and feedback controller. The stable inversion is implemented as a feedforward controller to improve the load-following capability, and the feedback controller is utilized to guarantee the stability and robustness of the whole system. Loop-shaping H∞ method is used to design the feedback controller and the final controller is reduced to a multivariable PI form. The output tracking control system takes account of the multivariable, nonlinear and coupling behavior of boiler-turbine system, and the simulation tests show that the control system works well and can be widely applied. 展开更多

This paper presents a novel sequential inverse optimal control(SIOC)method for discrete-time systems,which calculates the unknown weight vectors of the cost function in real time using the input and output of an optimally controlled discrete-time system.The proposed method overcomes the limitations of previous approaches by eliminating the need for the invertible Jacobian assumption.It calculates the possible-solution spaces and their intersections sequentially until the dimension of the intersection space decreases to one.The remaining one-dimensional vector of the possible-solution space’s intersection represents the SIOC solution.The paper presents clear conditions for convergence and addresses the issue of noisy data by clarifying the conditions for the singular values of the matrices that relate to the possible-solution space.The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through simulation results. 展开更多

Nonlinear dynamic inversion(NDI)has been applied to the control law design of quad-rotors mainly thanks to its good robustness and simplicity of parameter tuning.However,the weakness of relying on accurate model greatly restrains its application on quad-rotors,especially nano quad-rotors(NQRs).NQRs are easy to be influenced by uncertainties such as model uncertainties(mainly from complicated aerodynamic interferences,strong coupling in roll-pitch-yaw channels and inaccurate aerodynamic prediction of rotors)and external uncertainties(mainly from winds or gusts),particularly persistent ones.Therefore,developing accurate model for altitude and attitude control of NQRs is difficult.To solve this problem,in this paper,an improved nonlinear dynamic inversion(INDI)method is developed,which can reject the above-mentioned uncertainties by estimating them and then counteracting in real time using linear extended state observer(LESO).Comparison with the traditional NDI(TNDI)method was carried out numerically,and the results show that,in coping with persistent uncertainties,the INDI-based method presents significant superiority. 展开更多

The proposed controller eliminates the unknown nonlinear function by using a fuzzy system, whose inputs are not the state variables but feedback error signals. The underlying stability analysis as well as parameter update law design are carried out by using the Lyapunov-based technique. The proposed method indicates that the nonlinear inversion-based control approach can also be applied to uncertain chaotic systems. This paper presents the design and implementation of Adaptive Generalized Dynamic Inversion(AGDI)to track the position of a Linear Flexible Joint Cart(LFJC)system along with vibration suppression of the flexible joint.The proposed AGDI control law will be comprised of two control elements.The baseline(continuous)control law is based on principle of conventional GDI approach and is established by prescribing the constraint dynamics of controlled state variables that reflect the control objectives.The control law is realized by inverting the prescribed dynamics using dynamically scaledMoore-Penrose generalized inversion.To boost the robust attributes against system nonlinearities,parametric uncertainties and external perturbations,a discontinuous control law will be augmented which is based on the concept of sliding mode principle.In discontinuous control law,the sliding mode gain is made adaptive in order to achieve improved tracking performance and chattering reduction.The closed-loop stability of resultant control law is established by introducing a positive define Lyapunov candidate function such that semi-global asymptotic attitude tracking of LFJC system is guaranteed.Rigorous computer simulations followed by experimental investigation will be performed on Quanser’s LFJC system to authenticate the feasibility of proposed control approach for its application to real world problems. 展开更多

The purpose of using life extending control for Black Hawk UH-60 helicopter is to make a trade-off between the handling qualities and the service life of critical components. An increase in service life span results in enhanced safety and the reduction in maintenance costs. This paper presents a design methodology of life extending control for structural durability and high performance of mechanical system, which is based on an explicit dynamic inversion control scheme. A real-time nonlinear fatigue crack growth model is built to predict fatigue damage resulting from the impact of cyclic bending stress on rotor shaft, which serves as an indicator of service life. The 4-axis gainscheduled flight controller, whose gains are adjusted as a function of damage and flight velocity, is designed to regulate roll attitude, pitch attitude, vertical velocity and yaw rate. The nonlinear system simulation results show that the responses can meet the requirements on ADS-33 Level 1 handling qualities and that the 4-axis decoupling control is realized. As the damage increases, the tracking performance is slightly degraded, which results in smaller transients in bending moment response. 展开更多

Random vibration control is aimed at reproducing the power spectral density (PSD) at specified control points. The classical frequency-spectrum equalization algorithm needs to compute the average of the multiple frequency response functions (FRFs), which lengthens the control loop time in the equalization process. Likewise, the feedback control algorithm has a very slow convergence rate due to the small value of the feedback gain parameter to ensure stability of the system. To overcome these limitations, an adaptive inverse control of random vibrations based on the filtered-X least mean-square (LMS) algorithm is proposed. Furthermore, according to the description and iteration characteristics of random vibration tests in the frequency domain, the frequency domain LMS algorithm is adopted to refine the inverse characteristics of the FRF instead of the traditional time domain LMS algorithm. This inverse characteristic, which is called the impedance function of the system under control, is used to update the drive PSD directly. The test results indicated that in addition to successfully avoiding the instability problem that occurs during the iteration process, the adaptive control strategy minimizes the amount of time needed to obtain a short control loop and achieve equalization. 展开更多

The optimal control design ensures global well-posedness and global practical K∞-exponential stability of the closed-loop system, minimizes a cost functional,which appropriately penalizes both state and control in the sense that it is positive definite(and radially unbounded) in the state and control, without having to solve a Hamilton-Jacobi-Belman equation(HJBE). The Lyapunov functional used in the control design explicitly solves a family of HJBEs. The results are applied to design inverse optimal boundary stabilization control laws for extensible and shearable slender beams governed by fully nonlinear partial differential equations. 展开更多

Based on it, the diagram of AIC is amended to accommodate with the characteristic of nonlinear object with time delay. The corresponding Filtered-ε adaptive algorithm based on RTRL is presented to identify the parameters and design the controller. The simulation results on a nonlinear ship model of "The R.O.V Zeefakker" show that compared with the previous scheme and adaptive PID control, the improved method not only keeps the same dynamic response performance, but also owns higher robustness and disturbance rejection ability, and it is suitable for the control of nonlinear objects which have higher requirement to the maneuverability under complex disturbance environment. 展开更多

Compared with linear filter with its revi-sion,the general relationship between the input and output of the inverse model of turbo decoding system can be established exactly by Nonlinear Auto-Regressive eXogeneous input (NARX) filter. Combined with linear inverse system,it has simpler structure and costs less computation,thus can satisfy the demand of real-time turbo decoding. To prevent the oxygen starvation and improve the system output performance, an adaptive inverse control (AIC) strategy is developed to regulate the air supply flow of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) system in this paper. The PEMFC stack and the air supply system including a compressor and a supply manifold are modeled for the purpose of performance analysis and controller design. A recurrent fuzzy neural network (RFNN) is utilized to identify the inverse model of the controlled system and generates a suitable control input during the abrupt step change of external disturbances. Compared with the PI controller, numerical simulations are performed to validate the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed AIC strategy. 展开更多

Under the condition of thin interbeds with great lateral changes in terrestrial basins,a seismic meme inversion method is established based on the analysis of seismic sedimentology technology.The relationship between seismic waveform and high-frequency well logs is established through dynamic clustering of seismic waveform to improve the vertical and horizontal resolution of inversion results;meanwhile,by constructing the Bayesian inversion framework of different seismic facies,the real facies controlled inversion is realized.The forward model verification results show that the seismic meme inversion can realize precise prediction of 3 m thick thin interbeds,proving the rationality and high precision of the method.The application in the Daqing placanticline shows that the seismic meme inversion could identify 2 m thin interbeds,and the coincidence rates of inversion results and drilling data were more than 80%.The seismic meme inversion method can improve the accuracy of reservoir prediction and provides a useful mean for thin interbeds prediction in terrestrial basins. 展开更多

This paper presents a design of optimal controllers with respect to a meaningful cost function to force an underactuated omni-directional intelligent navigator (ODIN) under unknown constant environmental loads to track a reference trajectory in two-dimensional space. Motivated by the vehicle's steering practice, the yaw angle regarded as a virtual control plus the surge thrust force are used to force the position of the vehicle to globally track its reference trajectory. The control design is based on several recent results developed for inverse optimal control and stability analysis of nonlinear systems, a new design of bounded disturbance observers, and backstepping and Lyapunov's direct methods. Both state- and output-feedback control designs are addressed. Simulations are included to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results. 展开更多

A 5-degrees-of-freedom bearingless induction motor is a multi-variable,nonlinear and strong-coupled system.In order to achieve rotor suspension and operation steadily,it is necessary to realize dynamic decoupling control among torque and suspension forces.In the paper,a method based on α-th order inverse system theory is used to study dynamic decoupling control.Firstly,the working principles of a 3-degrees-of-freedom magnetic bearing and a 2-degrees-of-freedom bearinglees induction motor are analyzed, the radial-axial force equations of 3-degrees-of-freedom magnetic bearing,the electromagnetic torque equation and radial force equations of the 2-degrees-of-freedom bearingless induction motor are given,and then the state equations of the 5-degrees-of-freedom bearingless induction motor are set up.Secondly,the feasibility of decoupling control based on dynamic inverse theory is discussed in detail,and the state feedback linearization method is used to decouple and linearize the system.Finally,linear control system techniques are applied to these linearization subsystems to synthesize and simulate.The simulation results have shown that this kind of control strategy can realize dynamic decoupling control among torque and suspension forces of the 5-degrees-of-freedom bearingless induction motor,and that the control system has good dynamic and static performance. 展开更多
