The uniform transversal distributions of the front tension in the exit and the unit pressure were considered as the objective function. At the same time, the quality of the products, the stability of zinc layer, and the homogeneity of spangles were of considerable significance in the planishing process. The model was applied to the roll shape setting of the 1800 cold rolling 3# CGL hot galvanizing and planishing mill of Baosteel Co Ltd. After being planished, the flatness of a strip that was less than 6 I was more than 97%, and the flatness of others were less than 10 I; the pass percentage of the zinc lay- ers reached 100%.展开更多

Up to now, many problems in the shape control domain have not been solved satisfactorily, and a review on the research progress in the shape control domain ca...Shape is an important quality index of cold rolling strip. Up to now, many problems in the shape control domain have not been solved satisfactorily, and a review on the research progress in the shape control domain can help to seek new breakthrough directions. In the past 10 years, researches and applications of shape control models, shape control means, shape detection technology, and shape con- trol system have achieved significant progress. In the aspect of shape control models, the researches in the past improve the accuracy, speed and robustness of the models. The intelligentization of shape control models should be strengthened in the future. In the aspect of the shape control means, the researches in the past focus on the roll opti- mization, mill type selection, process optimization, local strip shape control, edge drop control, and so on. In the future, more attention should be paid to the coordination control of both strip shape and other quality indexes, and the refinement of control objective should be strengthened. In the aspects of shape detection technology and shape control system, some new types of shape detection meters and shape control systems are developed and have successfully indus- trial applications. In the future, the standardization of shape detection technology and shape control system should be promoted to solve the problem of compatibility. In general,the four expected development trends of shape control for cold roiling strip in the future are intelligentization, coordi- nation, refinement, and standardization. Using a finiteelement model, the effects of roll contours (ground and wear) on strip profile were investigated.The roll bending effect on strip thickness was also analyzed. It is pointed out that there are somespecial features of flatness control in the temper mill: during temper rolling, roll deformation isslight due to small rolling load, and the loaded roll gap profile mainly depends on work rollcontour, while the backup roll has a little effect on gap crown; the effect of bending force ongauge can not be ignored due to the coupling between flatness control and gauge control. In order to investigate the effect of cross-sectional shapes before fiat rolling on the performance and homogeneity of the tapes, some numerical models of Bi-2223/Ag wires with different cross-sectional shapes including circular, square, elliptical and racetrack cross-sections are constructed during the rolling process. By comparing the relative density, logarithmic strain ratio and length-width ratio on the filaments, it is revealed that Bi-2223/Ag wire with special-shaped cross-section can achieve better conductivity than the round wire, in particular, the racetrack cross-sectional wire has the second best performance among four wires. Based on material processability and experimental condition, tri-pass racetrack drawing technique is employed to optimize the process and obtain racetrack cross-sectional wire. The rolling process of Bi-2223/Ag wire with racetrack cross-section causes more intensive deformation of filaments in the center of the tape and achieves the filaments with larger length-width ratio. Also, the deformation distribution of filaments verifies the numerical results. Consequently, the racetrack drawing technique can be utilized for a reference during the mechanical processing and to increase the current transmission capacities of Bi-2223/Ag tapes.展开更多

In order to analyze the dynamic property of roll system's flexural deformation, it is necessary to consider the transverse periodic movement of stock in the rolling deformation area which is caused by the flexural deformation movement of roll system simul- taneously. Therefore, the displacement field of roll system and flow of metal in the deformation area is described by kinematic analysis in the dynamic system. Through intro- ducing the lateral displacement function of metal in the deformation area, the dynamic variation of per unit width rolling force can be determined at the same time. Then the coupling law caused by the co-effect of rigid movement and flexural deformation of the system structural elements is determined. Furthermore, a multi-parameter coupling dynamic model of the roll system and stock is established by the principle of virtual work. More explicitly, the cou- pled motion modal analysis was made for the roll system. Meanwhile, the analytical solutions for the flexural defor- mation movement's mode shape functions of rolls are discussed. In addition, the dynamic characteristic of the lateral flow of metal in the rolling deformation area has been analyzed at the same time. The establishment ofdynamic lateral displacement function of metal in the deformation area makes the foundation for analyzing the coupling law between roll system and rolling deformation area, and provides a theoretical basis for the realization of the dynamic shape control of steel strip.展开更多

It was observed that as the amount of deformation increases, the flaws nucleate at the out-walls of the cold rolled tube, the stress-induced martensites change from (111 ) type Ⅰ twins to (011) type Ⅱ twins and then to (100) compound twins, nanocrystals and bulk amorphisation happen, the high density dislocation causes stress concentration at the out-walls of the Ti50Ni50 cold-rolled tube, and then precipitates its fracture, and the Ti2Ni particles strengthen the grain boundaries and curb the dislocation movements during plastic deformation. The inhomogeneity level of the grains in the Ti50Ni50 alloy plays an important role on the fracture of the Ti50Ni50 cold rolled tube.展开更多
There are very few researches on the shape standard curve currently,and they merely remain on the level of description of the general concept and production experiences,lacking of the in-depth theoretical analysis,and...There are very few researches on the shape standard curve currently,and they merely remain on the level of description of the general concept and production experiences,lacking of the in-depth theoretical analysis,and the concrete principle,method and steps for determining the shape standard curve are not put forward,therefore,they are not applicable in industrial production.This is the weakest spot in the research on the basic shape theory.In this paper,the basic shape standard curve and the transverse distribution curve of the exit thickness are attained with stepwise optimization,which is based on the theoretical calculation method of the shape standard curve of strip mills proposed by authors.By calculating the shape discrimination model and the shape forecast model separately,the simultaneous iterative calculation by the previous method is avoided,and the speed and stability of calculation are improved.The compensation models of the transverse temperature difference of the strip,the shape detection roller deflection and the shape of the strip coil are established,respectively,meantime,the basic shape standard curves are compensated,and the relatively perfect theoretical establishment method of the shape standard curve is formed.The simulation and calculation are done on a 1 220 mm five-stand cold strip tandem mill.The simulation and calculation result shows that the principle,method and steps for determining the shape standard curve are correct and feasible,and the correctness of theoretical analysis and calculation is verified.This paper proposes an idea and a method for the establishment of the shape standard curve in the rolling processes of cold strip mills,which develop the theory and model of the shape standard curve and improve the quality and efficiency of the shape control in the rolling processes of cold strip mills.展开更多

The simulation results indicate that the system has good performance and strong robustness, and is better than traditional PID and neural-fuzzy control. After tracin...SmartCrown was a new system developed by VAI for improving the strip profile and flatness control first applied in 1700 mm tandem cold rolling mills at Wuhan Iron & Steel (Group) Corporation (WISCO). After tracing and testing, the application of the conventional crown backup roll matching the SmartCrown work roll of the production mill led to heavy and nonuniform wear, and the edge spalling of the backup roll often occurred. A 3-dimension finite element model of roll stacks was established, which was used to analyze the above-mentioned problems, and it was found that the main reason was the highly nonuniform contact pressure distribution between the work roll and the backup roll. A new FSR (flexible shape backup roll) was developed and applied in 1700 mm tandem cold rolling mills. A lot of good actual effects of FSR, such as evident improvement in profile and flatness of strips, non-occurring edge spalling, wear uniform, and remarkable decrease in roll consumption were validated by long-term industrial applications.展开更多

A statistical wear model and a finite difference thermal contour model of work rolls were described. The comprehensive contour is the equivalence treatment of the sum of grinding, wear, and thermal contours. This comprehensive contour calculation model has been applied successfully in the real on-line strip shape control model. Its high precision has been proved through the large amounts of actual roll profile measurements and theoretical analyses. The hit rates (percent of shape index satisfying re- quirement) of crown and head flatness of the strips rolled, by using the shape control model, which includes the comprehensive contour calculation model, have about 16% and 10% increase respectively, compared to those of strips rolled by using manual operation.展开更多

文摘The microstructures and interracial characteristics of matrices at the inwalls and the out-walls of the cold-rolled tube with different amounts of deformation were investigated by the scanning electronic microscope (SEM), the optical microscope (OM), and the transmission electronic microscope (TEM) techniques. It was observed that as the amount of deformation increases, the flaws nucleate at the out-walls of the cold rolled tube, the stress-induced martensites change from (111 ) type Ⅰ twins to (011) type Ⅱ twins and then to (100) compound twins, nanocrystals and bulk amorphisation happen, the high density dislocation causes stress concentration at the out-walls of the Ti50Ni50 cold-rolled tube, and then precipitates its fracture, and the Ti2Ni particles strengthen the grain boundaries and curb the dislocation movements during plastic deformation. The inhomogeneity level of the grains in the Ti50Ni50 alloy plays an important role on the fracture of the Ti50Ni50 cold rolled tube.

文摘There are very few researches on the shape standard curve currently,and they merely remain on the level of description of the general concept and production experiences,lacking of the in-depth theoretical analysis,and the concrete principle,method and steps for determining the shape standard curve are not put forward,therefore,they are not applicable in industrial production.This is the weakest spot in the research on the basic shape theory.In this paper,the basic shape standard curve and the transverse distribution curve of the exit thickness are attained with stepwise optimization,which is based on the theoretical calculation method of the shape standard curve of strip mills proposed by authors.By calculating the shape discrimination model and the shape forecast model separately,the simultaneous iterative calculation by the previous method is avoided,and the speed and stability of calculation are improved.The compensation models of the transverse temperature difference of the strip,the shape detection roller deflection and the shape of the strip coil are established,respectively,meantime,the basic shape standard curves are compensated,and the relatively perfect theoretical establishment method of the shape standard curve is formed.The simulation and calculation are done on a 1 220 mm five-stand cold strip tandem mill.The simulation and calculation result shows that the principle,method and steps for determining the shape standard curve are correct and feasible,and the correctness of theoretical analysis and calculation is verified.This paper proposes an idea and a method for the establishment of the shape standard curve in the rolling processes of cold strip mills,which develop the theory and model of the shape standard curve and improve the quality and efficiency of the shape control in the rolling processes of cold strip mills.
文摘For nonlinear hydraulic roll bending control, a new fuzzy intelligent control method was proposed based on the genetic neural network. The method taking account of dynamic and static characteristics of control system has settled the problems of recognizing and controlling the unknown, uncertain and nonlinear system successfully, and has been applied to hydraulic roll bending control. The simulation results indicate that the system has good performance and strong robustness, and is better than traditional PID and neural-fuzzy control. The method is an effective tool to control roll bending force with increased dynamic response speed of control system and enhanced tracking accuracy.
文摘SmartCrown was a new system developed by VAI for improving the strip profile and flatness control first applied in 1700 mm tandem cold rolling mills at Wuhan Iron & Steel (Group) Corporation (WISCO). After tracing and testing, the application of the conventional crown backup roll matching the SmartCrown work roll of the production mill led to heavy and nonuniform wear, and the edge spalling of the backup roll often occurred. A 3-dimension finite element model of roll stacks was established, which was used to analyze the above-mentioned problems, and it was found that the main reason was the highly nonuniform contact pressure distribution between the work roll and the backup roll. A new FSR (flexible shape backup roll) was developed and applied in 1700 mm tandem cold rolling mills. A lot of good actual effects of FSR, such as evident improvement in profile and flatness of strips, non-occurring edge spalling, wear uniform, and remarkable decrease in roll consumption were validated by long-term industrial applications.

文摘The predictive calculation of comprehensive contour of work rolls in the on-line strip shape control model during hot rolling consists of two important parts of wear contour calculation and thermal contour calculation, which have a direct influence on the ac- curacy of shape control. A statistical wear model and a finite difference thermal contour model of work rolls were described. The comprehensive contour is the equivalence treatment of the sum of grinding, wear, and thermal contours. This comprehensive contour calculation model has been applied successfully in the real on-line strip shape control model. Its high precision has been proved through the large amounts of actual roll profile measurements and theoretical analyses. The hit rates (percent of shape index satisfying re- quirement) of crown and head flatness of the strips rolled, by using the shape control model, which includes the comprehensive contour calculation model, have about 16% and 10% increase respectively, compared to those of strips rolled by using manual operation.
文摘In order to improve the quality of the strip for the hot continuous rolling, the high accuracy set-up control must be applied to production. In the paper, we analyze the RFC (profile and flatness control) system and simulate the set-up process. Calculation results are in agreement to the actual measurements. It is the basis on the developing model.

According to the practical wearcurve of work roll in Angang ASP1700 hot strip mill, which was measured by a roll-profilemeter, themodel of wear curve caused by one single strip was established. The prediction of work-roll wear wasachieved by combining Fortran language and practical technology parameters. The calculated resultsagreed well with the measured.
