The methodology considers the variables of debris flow depth and velocity and introduces the intensity index IDV(IDV = DV) to evaluate three different levels of debris flow impact intensity. The primary focus of this study is to investigate the dynamic response and failure mechanism of RC-frame buildings under debris flow impact, including structural failure patterns, impact force and column displacement. The results show that under a highintensity impact, a gradual collapse process of the RCframe building can be observed, and the damage mode of the frame column reflects shear failure or plastic hinge failure mechanism. First, the longitudinal infill walls are damaged owing to their low out-of-plane flexural capacity;the critical failure intensity index IDV value is approximately 7.5 m2/s. The structure cannot withstand debris flows with an intensity index IDV greater than 16 m2/s, and it is recommended that the peak impact force should not exceed 2100 k N. The impact damage ability of debris flow on buildings mostly originates from the impact force of the frontal debris flow, with the impact force of the debris flow body being approximately 42% lower than that of the debris flow head. Finally, a five-level classification system for evaluating the damage status of buildings is proposed based on the numerical simulation and investigation results of the disaster site.展开更多

The system identification using the extended Kalman filter determined the amplitude dependency of natural frequency and damping factor, which are consistent with damage feature. Occurrence of partial uplifting in the transverse direction is suggested by the induced higher harmonics based on the wavelet analysis. An improved analyti...This paper presents exact analytical solutions for a novel damped outrigger system, in which viscous dampers are vertically installed between perimeter columns and the core of a high-rise building. An improved analytical model is developed by modeling the effect of the damped outrigger as a general rotational spring acting on a Bernoulli-Euler beam. The equivalent rotational spring stiffness incorporating the combined effects of dampers and axial stiffness of perimeter columns is derived. The dynamic stiffness method(DSM) is applied to formulate the governing equation of the damped outrigger system. The accuracy and effi ciency are verifi ed in comparison with those obtained from compatibility equations and boundary equations. Parametric analysis of three non-dimensional factors is conducted to evaluate the infl uences of various factors, such as the stiffness ratio of the core to the beam, position of the damped outrigger, and the installed damping coeffi cient. Results show that the modal damping ratio is signifi cantly infl uenced by the stiffness ratio of the core to the column, and is more sensitive to damping than the position of the damped outrigger. The proposed analytical model in combination with DSM can be extended to the study of structures with more outriggers.展开更多

Firstly, a multi-rigid body dynamic model of rider and mountain bike coupled system is constructed. The rider model includes 19 skeletons, 18 joints and 118 main muscles. Secondly, to validate the feasibility of the model, an experiment test is designed to reflect the real cycling status. Finally, aiming at enhancing the performance of the rider vibration comfort, the scale parameters of rear suspension are optimized with computer simulation and uniform design. The mathematical model in the vibration performance and the design variables is constructed with regression analysis. The result shows that when the length of side link is 90 mm, the length of connected rod is 336.115 1 mm and the included angle between absorber and side link is 60°, the mountain bike has better vibration comfort. This study and relevant conclusions are of practical importance to the design of the mountain bike's rear suspension system.展开更多

文摘In this paper,we propose a graph model embedded with compact physical equations for modeling the thermal dynamics of buildings. The principles of heat flow across various components in the building, such as walls and doors, fit the message-passing strategy used by Graph Neural networks(GNNs).The proposed method is to represent the multi-zone building as a graph,in which only zones are considered as nodes, and any heat flow between zones is modeled as an edge based on prior knowledge of the building structure.Furthermore, the thermal dynamics of these components are described by compact models in the graph.GNNs are further employed to train model parameters from collected data.During model training, our proposed method enforces physical constraints(e.g.,zone sizes and connections)on model parameters and propagates the penalty in the loss function of GNN.Such constraints are essential to ensure model robustness and interpretability. We evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed modeling approach on a realistic dataset with multiple zones. The results demonstrate a satisfactory accuracy in the prediction of multi-zone temperature. Moreover,we illustrate that the new model can reliably learn hidden physical parameters with incomplete data.

文摘This paper presents exact analytical solutions for a novel damped outrigger system, in which viscous dampers are vertically installed between perimeter columns and the core of a high-rise building. The proposed analytical model in combination with DSM can be extended to the study of structures with more outriggers.
文摘The seismic behavior of tall buildings can he greatly affected by non-linear soil-pile interaction during strong earthquakes. In this study a 20-storey building is examined as a typical structure supported on a pile foundation for different conditions:(1) rigid base,i.e.no deformation in the foundation:(2) linear soil-pile system;and (3) nonlinear soil-pile system. The effects of pile foundation displacements on the behavior of tall building are investigated, and compared with the behavior of buildings supported on shallow foundation. With a model of non-reflective boundary between the near field and far field, Novak's method of soil-pile interaction is improved. The computation method for vibration of pile foundations and DYNAN computer program are introduced comprehensively.A series of dynamic experiments have been done on full-scale piles, including single pile and group, linear vibration and nonlinear vibration,to verify the validity of boundary zone model.

文摘This paper investigates the dynamic design methodology of mountain bikes with rear suspension. This study and relevant conclusions are of practical importance to the design of the mountain bike's rear suspension system.

文摘Accidents involving natural gas leakage and dispersion pose a significant threat to human life and property. This threat is especially relevant at the street intersection at which dense buildings, heavy traffic flow, and complex underground pipe networks meet.Scholars have conducted numerous studies on gas leakage and dispersion, but investigations of natural gas leakage and dispersion at the street intersection of a building group are not in-depth.In this paper,we presented a three-dimensional(3D)physical model based on the Computational Fluid Dynamic(CFD)methodology to study the natural gas leakage and dispersion at the street intersection of a building group. We validated the CFD methodology applied in the research based on the data from the field tests and wind tunnel experiments. Then,we simulated and analyzed the pressure, wind, and concentration of natural gas dispersion at the street intersection. The simulation results showed that vortex regions,low-pressure zones, and a building group effect could cause a build-up of natural gas concentration under perpendicular wind direction conditions. In addition, the area of hazardous region tended to increase first and then drop with the dispersion height. In the case of this study, the maximum area of hazardous region is 200 m2 located in the height of 55 m,which is the middle plane in the computational domain. The results in the paper can provide scientific references for the safe operation and emergency-management decisions of municipal gas.

文摘We carried out a wind tunnel test to measure cladding loads for a high-rise building of 295 m in height, which would be located in the business center of Chongqing Municipality, P. R. China. The rigid model was used to determine fluctuating local pressures on the exterior surfaces of the building. The wind tunnel test results show the cr/tical zone of wind pressures on building surfaces in both standalone and interference conditions. The computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was conducted by using the FLUENT Code to compare with the wind tunnel test results, and the steady three-dimensional turbulent flow with Realizable k-ε as a turbulence model was used. The CFD results are agree with the wind tunnel test results in regards to distributions of wind pressures over a high-rise building's surfaces.
