Effect of a Nutrition Education Intervention on Food Safety Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices of Mothers of Children under 5 Years in the Peri-Urban Areas of Bobo-Dioulasso: Before and after Study

Background: This study assessed the effect of a nutrition education intervention. This intervention aimed to improve the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of mothers on food safety in the peri-urban areas of Bobo-Dioulasso in Burkina Faso. Methods: A total of 243 mothers of children under 5 years in the peri-urban of Bobo-Dioulasso were administered the FAO questionnaire for food safety knowledge, attitudes, and practices assessment during two cross-sectional surveys, before and after the intervention, in January and October 2017. The intervention included two components consisting of a theoretical phase (counselling and discussion) and cooking demonstrations implemented for ten months. To account for the before-and-after design of the study, the McNemar’s test was used to assess the effect of the intervention on food safety KAP of mothers of children under 5 years. Results: The mean age of mothers was 29 ± 6.2 years and 50.6% of them were between 20 and 29 years old. One for knowledge (cooking thoroughly with, p-value = 0.0001) and another for attitudes (perceived benefits of reheating leftovers before eating them, p-value = 0.0001), significantly increased after the intervention. In terms of food safety practices, all the indicators (cleaning of dirty surfaces, plates and utensils and storage of perishable foods) significantly increased (all p = 0.0001 Conclusion: This study provided some evidence of an effective nutrition education intervention for improving maternal KAP on food safety for their child’s feeding.

Potential and limitations of ChatGPT and generative artificial intelligence in medical safety education

The primary objectives of medical safety education are to provide the public with essential knowledge about medications and to foster a scientific approach to drug usage.The era of using artificial intelligence to revolutionize medical safety education has already dawned,and ChatGPT and other generative artificial intelligence models have immense potential in this domain.Notably,they offer a wealth of knowledge,anonymity,continuous availability,and personalized services.However,the practical implementation of generative artificial intelligence models such as ChatGPT in medical safety education still faces several challenges,including concerns about the accuracy of information,legal responsibilities,and ethical obligations.Moving forward,it is crucial to intelligently upgrade ChatGPT by leveraging the strengths of existing medical practices.This task involves further integrating the model with real-life scenarios and proactively addressing ethical and security issues with the ultimate goal of providing the public with comprehensive,convenient,efficient,and personalized medical services.

The Analysis of Human Behaviour and Evacuation in a Fire Situation in a Building for Higher Education

The paper presents the analysis of a human evacuation from a higher education building located in Iassy,Romania,by means of engineering techniques to approach fire safety.Because in Romania(as in other European countries)fire safety design of buildings is prescriptive and not performance-based,a fire safety engineering approach arouse great interest in many countries such as the U.S.A.,Australia,New Zealand,England,Sweden,Finland,etc.This paper is based on the assumption of starting a fire in the space of a hall for festivities,located on the ground floor of the building,near two human evacuation routes;We consider two building evacuation scenarios:two exits and,respectively,just one exit(assuming that the second would be accidentally blocked).

Sustainable Development Importance in Higher Education for Occupational Health and Safety Using Egypt Vision 2030 under COVID-19 Pandemic

Insertion of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into higher education is an important concern. This article aims to address the influences of SDGs in higher and engineering educational system in Egypt. The present study focuses on SDGs 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, and 11. SDG 3 is related to occupational health and SDG 4 is related to higher education development. However, SDGs 6, 7, 9, and 11 are related to both mechanical and environmental engineering, and occupational safety. The study approach involves case risk analysis, investigations, and review for design concepts of occupational health and safety before and after the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19). A number of cross-sectional studies that constitute 125 multidisciplinary research plans (MDRPs) are grouped to monitor and evaluate two main factors which are an influence of involving SDGs into engineering education and selected curriculum of occupational health and safety. Then the results of these research-based studies, which performed over four academic years started from 2017 up to date 2021, are depicted and discussed. These results reveal the importance of interlink between engineering education and the intended SDGs. The latest 25 MDRPs demonstrate that Egypt response to alleviate the COVID-19 is rapidly pronounced specially on SDGs 3 and 4 simultaneously. However, those MDRPs show that neither record impacts nor delays on SDGs 6, 7, 9 and 11. The conclusions prioritize both the advanced educational mechanisms and verify the engineering curriculums to raise awareness of SDGs among both staff members and students in Egyptian universities. Finally, future work is recommended at the end of this article to focus on each specific goal to gain deep insight to state of the art for each SDG around globe using education development.

Nuclear Safety Education for Non-nuclear Engineering Students

The new situations were analyzed for nuclear industry development and security. Besides nuclear wars and terrorism, reactor runaway and un-ruled radioactive source are the main nuclear accidents in peacetime. With the active development of the nuclear industry in China, the existing nuclear education system is becoming deficient or defective. Human factors play an important role in nuclear accident prevention and emergency response in the nuclear engineering system, non-nuclear professional staff are often the subject of personnel in most nuclear projects. In order to ensure the sustainable and efficient accord development of nuclear industry, general nuclear education is necessary for correlative non-nuclear professionals, such as technologies, management, safety, culture and ethic. The nuclear safety education should be included into the national education system.

With the rapid development of society and the reform of colleges and universities, the safety awareness of college students has become increasingly prominent. The level of safety awareness of college students will directly affect the harmonious development of themselves, schools and society. In order to investigate the current situation of College students' safety awareness, a questionnaire survey was conducted for the college students of a university in Sichuan Province, and the difficulties of college counselors in strengthening college students' safety education and management were deeply analyzed, then some suggestions were put forward. College counselors must find problems, think about problems and solve problems in the process of practical work, so as to really do a good job in safety education and management.

Research on Preschoolers’Comprehension of Safety Signs and Its Influencing Factors

As an integral part of children’s safety education,safety signs hold significant importance for preschoolers’safety.This study aims to investigate the comprehension level of safety signs and its influencing factors among preschoolers and explore the role of background factors such as safety education in children’s learning of safety signs.Sixty-seven preschoolers participated in the questionnaire investigation on 11 safety signs.The results were encoded by a binary method and subjected to descriptive analysis and multiple correspondence analysis.The results indicated that preschoolers can understand symbols,but there is a certain degree of arbitrariness.The existing thematic education fails to improve their understanding of safety signs.This study provides a theoretical basis for improving and optimizing child safety education.

Investigation and Research on Safety Education in Village Elementary Schools in Counties ——With Nanxian County, Hunan as an Example

The basic education in the new period has changed quickly, and all kinds of education departments have strengthened safety education by various approaches;however, the students' safety accidents across the country have still happened frequently, so the people have spontaneously paid attention to and reflected on the students' safety education issue, especially the safety education in the elementary schools where the students are younger. In this paper, the village elementary schools in the counties have been taken as the research object, and the research methods such as documentary method and interview method have been adopted to analyze the current situation of safety education in the village elementary schools in Nanxian County from the aspects such as safety education management, safety education content, safety education awareness, safety education effect and safety education approach.

Study on the Safety of Physical Education in Colleges and Universities

This paper uses survey research methods to research the three factors affecting sports teaching safety and management in the colleges and universities. It proposed to increase the awareness of the safety of teachers and students. And it should have a rational organization of teaching. It also should increase financial input on a regular basis in the field and equipment maintenance. Specialized security agencies and establish safety management systems and contingency plans, to encourage students to participate in accident insurance, guarantee learning the sports teaching activities of the security.

Application effect of nursing safety education in practical nursing students: a systematic evaluation

Objective To evaluate the effects of nursing safety education in nursing interns.Methods We searched databases such as CNKI,Wanfang,VIP,PubMed,Web of Science,Cochrane library and Embase for randomized controlled tri-als.Endnote software was used for literature screening and duplication review,and RevMan5.3 software was used for data consolidation analysis.Results A total of 12 RCTs were included and the object of study of 1046 people,The result of Meta analysis showed that there were significant differences between nursing safety education group and traditional teaching group in nursing students’theoretical examination scores[SMD=2.80,95%CI(2.06,3.54),P<0.01],operational scores[SMD=2.73,95%CI(2.12,3.33),P<0.01]and nursing safety assessment(nursing safety assessment scores,nursing safety ability and safety consciousness)[SMD=4.74,95%CI(3.33,6.14),P<0.01].Conclusion It is of great significance for colleges and teaching hospitals to carry out nursing safety education for nursing students,which is helpful to improve their safety culture knowledge and safety protection consciousness,and effectively reduce the occurrence of adverse nursing events.

Mental Illness Education through Stories of Lived Experience: Validation Review of the DoNOHarm Framework

The lived experience of people with mental illness is a powerful way to promote mental health literacy and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness.However,there is little guidance on how to do this safely.Mental Illness Education ACT is an Australian organisation that since 1993 has supported volunteer educators to share their individual stories of lived experience to school and community groups.In 2011,they developed the DoNOHarm Framework to assist volunteers to be able to talk about their experiences in a way that is safe for them and for their audience,a gap that they recognised in thefield.This study reports a review of the Framework,considering the extent to which it is supported by the current literature and how it is being implemented and experienced by the volunteer educators.These research questions were addressed by a literature review and interviews with 14 volunteer educators and the staff that support them.The review of published literature over the past 10 years showed strong evidence for three of the six principles of the Framework:Context and Purpose,Recovery Emphasis,and Safe Talking.Although the principle of Respectful and Inclusive Language is widely promoted in the mental healthfield,no recent studies investigated the benefits of this approach.Similarly,there was no recent research into the two principles of Limits to Helping and Self Care.The interviews revealed strong support for the Frame-work among volunteers.It was seen to be effective to protect the safety of both presenter and audience,ensure the relevance of the presentation,give educators confidence in their message and delivery,convey a hopeful message,and make certain that presentations were engaging for the audience.Overall,this review shows that the DoNO-Harm Frameworkfills an important gap for mental health education,with a sound evidence base where there is published evidence available.

Impact of Behavioral Health Training to Public Health Assistant Working in an Acute Psychiatric Setting in Reducing Patient-Led Workplace Violence

Workplace violence in healthcare settings is increasing worldwide. The risk of verbal and physical aggression towards healthcare workers is especially higher in psychiatry emergency settings. Public safety assistants are integral members of the psychiatry emergency department, who are frequently first responders to those with mental health issues. There is limited evidence discussing the patient-led workplace violence faced by public safety assistants. The purpose of this project is to explore the prevalence of physical and verbal patient-led violence faced by Public Safety Assistants (PSAs) working in psychiatry emergency settings and explore the impact of basic behavioral health education on PSAs in reducing patient-led workplace violence.

基于知识地图的高校实验室安全教育微课体系构建

为了改变当前实验室安全教育资源、内容、考核问题所导致的安全知识无法有效内化的现状,促进实验室安全教育效果提升,研究从记忆的原理出发,以建构主义、认知负荷、知识可视化等理论为指导,针对资源形式、内容组织、评价考核提出了系统性的解决方案,设计“通识—专业”模块化的安全教育体系,提出层级与网状相结合的安全教育知识地图构建方法,构建基于知识地图的问题导向式的安全教育微课,拓宽了安全教育理论范围。实践表明新体系可有效提升学生安全教育满意度及效果,具有一定的推广意义与实践价值。
