Extensive positioning experiments of CAPS have been performed since 2005. On the basis of CAPS, this paper studies the principle of a navigation constellation composed of slightly inclined geostationary orbit (SIGSO) communication satellites. SIGSO satellites are derived from GEO satellites which are near the end of their operational life by inclined orbit operation. Considering the abundant frequency resources of SIGSO satellites, multi-frequency observations could be conducted to enhance the precision of pseudorange measurements and ameliorate the positioning performance. A constellation composed of two GEO satellites and four SIGSO satellites with an inclination of 5° can provide service to most of the territory of China with a maximum position dilution of precision (PDOP) over 24 h of less than 42. With synthetic utilization of the truncated precise code and a physical augmentation factor in four frequencies, the navigation system with this constellation is expected to obtain comparable positioning performance to that of the coarse acquisition code of the Global Positioning System (GPS). When the new method of code-carrier phase combinations is adopted, the system has the potential to possess commensurate accuracy with the precise code in GPS. Additionally, the copious frequency resources can also be used to develop new anti-interference techniques and integrate navigation and communication.展开更多

However,in the using process, the user only concerns with the detection capabilities rather than coverage performance. To establish the relationship between these two aspects, the reconnaissance processes of normal stochastic targets are considered and the mathematic models of detection processes are built. The conclusions confirmed by the final simulation will be useful in LEO reconnaissance constellation design, optimization and evaluation.展开更多

However, global traffic demands present nonuniform characteristics. Therefore, how to ensure the on-demand service coverage for the specific traffic demand, i.e., the ratio of traffic density to service requirement per unit area, is the core issue of 6G wireless coverage extension exploiting the MSC. To this regard, this paper first discusses the open challenges to reveal the future direction of 6G wireless coverage extension from the perspective of key factors affecting service coverage performance, i.e., the network access capacity, space segment capacity and their matchingrelationship. Furthermore, we elaborate on the key factors affecting effective matchings of the aforementioned aspects, thereby improving service coverage capability.展开更多

To this end, it is useful to identify a set of optimal satellite constellations where each corresponds to a configuration specifying the number of satellites in each orbital plane. These constellations could then be maintained in a library for future use as satellites fail and are launched. We utilize symmetry in the geometry of the GPS satellite orbits to partition the configurations into a much smaller set of equivalence classes where each class has the same overall receiver accuracy performance. We apply a classical algebraic combinatorial result, Polya's Theorem, to count and categorize the classes. Incorporating our results into a GPS constellation optimization computer tool will reduce run time by about an order of magnitude. We apply other algebraic and combinatorial techniques in original ways to count the class sizes and the classes that contain a given number of satellites. Finally, we break the equivalence classes into a still smaller set of new "structure" classes that are useful in applying the GPS computer tool.展开更多

As the high signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) reception cannot always be guaranteed at LEO satellites, the recently developed direct position determination(DPD)is adopted. For LEO satellite-based passive localization systems, an efficient DPD is challenging due to the excessive exhaustive search range leading from broad satellite coverage. In order to reduce the computational complexity, we propose a time difference of arrival-assisted DPD(TA-DPD) which minimizes the searching area by the time difference of arrival measurements and their variances. In this way, the size of the searching area is determined by both geometrical constraints and qualities of received signals, and signals with higher SNRs can be positioned more efficiently as their searching areas are generally smaller. Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional passive localization simulations using the proposed TA-DPD are provided to demonstrate its efficiency and validity. The superior accuracy performance of the proposed method, especially at low SNRs conditions, is also verified through the comparison to conventional two-step methods. Providing a larger margin in link budget for satellite-based vessel location acquisition, the TA-DPD can be a competitive candidate for trusted marine location service.展开更多

This new integrated networks architecture consists of LEO satellites and civil aircrafts carrying aerial base stations, called "civil aircraft assisted SAGIN(CAA-SAGIN)". The assistance of civil aircrafts can reduce the stress of satellite networks, improve the performance of SAGIN, decrease the construction cost and save space resources. Taking the Chinese mainland as an example, this paper has analyzed the distribution of civil aircrafts, and obtained the coverage characteristics of civil aircraft assisted networks(CAAN). Taking Starlink as the benchmark, this paper has calculated the service gap of CAAN, and designed the joint coverage constellation. The simulation results prove that the number of satellites in CAASAGIN can be greatly reduced with the assistance of civil aircrafts at the same data rate.展开更多

Finally, we break the equivalence classes into a still smaller set of new "structure" classes that are useful in applying the GPS computer tool.
文摘China’s ocean satellites are divided into three series based on ocean color satellites(HY-1),ocean dynamic environment satellites(HY-2)and ocean monitoring satellites(HY-3).The three series of ocean satellites operate today in a multi-satellite network. The HY-1 D satellite launched in June 2020 and the HY-1 C satellite, already in orbit, realized a network observation capability and completed the formation of the ocean color satellite constellation. The HY-2 D satellite launched in May 2021 joined the HY-2 B and HY-2 C satellites, which have been on orbit already and completed a network observation capability, thus establishing the ocean dynamic environment satellite constellation. The GF-302 satellite(1 m C-SAR 01)launched in November 2021 has networked with GF-3,initially establishing an ocean monitoring satellite constellation, which has finally completed its construction with the launch of the GF-303 satellite(1 m C-SAR 02)in April 2022.The GF-3 three-satellite network effectively boasts a wide capability in applications of satellite data products and services in many fields, such as ocean environmental monitoring, ocean disaster prevention and mitigation, marine scientific research and polar research.

文摘This paper focuses on the trusted vessel position acquisition using passive localization based on the booming low-earth-orbit(LEO) satellites. Providing a larger margin in link budget for satellite-based vessel location acquisition, the TA-DPD can be a competitive candidate for trusted marine location service.

文摘In this paper, we propose a novel AIenabled space-air-ground integrated networks(SAGIN). The simulation results prove that the number of satellites in CAASAGIN can be greatly reduced with the assistance of civil aircrafts at the same data rate.
