Argentina has been experiencing profound changes in relation to the population groups with access to the different educational levels, presenting painful differences in the quality and effectiveness of education given in different population and geographic sectors. Secondary education in Argentina is currently the educational level on which all eyes are focused. On the one hand, due to the progressive obligatoriness, but to a greater extent a large number of secondary school age population are effectively excluded from the possibility of exercising the right to quality education. The paper tries to examine, through an analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the Argentinian educational system, what are the critical points of inflection where to incorporate elements of innovation to achieve better quality and inclusion standards in a country marked by deep levels of inequality in the access and quality of education in its different population groups. The research has been conducted through a descriptive methodology, using quantitative and qualitative analysis of primary and secondary sources. It is set on a bibliographical review based on reports and studies of recent publications, coming from official, national, and international public institutions. The paper aims to be a ftrst step in a diagnostic analysis of Argentinian education, but in a comparative manner, contrasting indicators and local indexes with international and regional trends in the subject. The main results point out that a deep transformation of the secondary school is needed, in such a way as to respond to the many signs of inequality, fragmentation and poor quality of the most vulnerable population groups.展开更多

In the present study high-school pupils’, and adult students’ opinions were evaluated through a modern structured MOODLE interactive course, designed for the needs of the laboratory course “Automotive Systems”. The study concerns Greek secondary vocational education pupils aged 18 and vocational training adult students aged 20 to 50 years. The multistage, equal size simple random cluster sample was used as a sampling method. Pupils and adult students of each cluster completed structured 10-question questionnaires both before and after attending the course. A total of 120 questionnaires were collected. In general, our findings disclosed that the majority of pupils and adult students had significantly improved their knowledge and skills from using MOODLE. They reported strengthening conventional teaching, using the new MOODLE technology. The satisfaction indices improved quite, with the differences in their mean values being statistically significant.展开更多

Our research findings show that China's current IL standards of high schools contain a disproportionate emphasis on information technology(IT). Moreover, the stipulations of these IL standards are narrowly construed and without being solidly grounded on a broad and comprehensive educational perspective. We also suggest that there are two underlying causes for this set of unsound IL standards in China.Firstly, there is a lack of collaboration between two major competing forces engaged in the curricular development and research of IL in China: Those professionals in educational IT discipline vis-à-vis those in Library and Information Science. Secondly, library professionals have a very limited influence on major socio-cultural policies, even at their own institutions. As a result, this paper recommends the following three possible measures, which may help remedy this situation strategically: 1) Establishing a set of new IL curriculum standards based on an IL-centered educational perspective; 2) establishing a teacher-librarian's training program to promote school librarians' role in IL education; and 3) strengthening the research and development of an online IL education program and an accompanied evaluation mechanism.展开更多

The findings drawn from textbooks show that biodiversity is linked both to the study of the ecosystem and to the impact of human societies on its maintenance. It argues that the Guomindang (GMD) central government was generally successful in handling the 500,000 displaced students, making substantial efforts to monitor, register, educate, and provide training for them, as well as establishing government-run "national middle schools" during the war. Meanwhile, the GMD also exerted a strong influence on course curriculum, instructing educators how to implement the Three People's Principles and other party doctrines in classrooms. These processes expanded the state's hand in secondary education and allowed the GMD to include refugee students and schools in its wartime narrative of progress, praising the students' patriotic participation in defying the Japanese occupiers and their contribution to "national reconstruction" (jianguo). However, there were still many challenges. Refugee students, teachers, and principals forcibly converted Buddhist temples into schools and clashed with local monks, farmers, villagers, and even the GMD military. With schools merging and moving inland, relocation also provided opportunities for unscrupulous administrators and teachers to exploit the situation for themselves, as government reports reveal many cases of corruption in the wartime schools.展开更多

文摘This study focuses on the migration of middle school students to the interior of China after the Japanese invaded in 1937. With schools merging and moving inland, relocation also provided opportunities for unscrupulous administrators and teachers to exploit the situation for themselves, as government reports reveal many cases of corruption in the wartime schools.
