On the development of modern service industry under mismatched Blotto game of knowledge flow

In order to highlight and analyze the influence of heterogeneous knowledge flows to enterprises in the modern service industry,based on a review of the Colonel Blotto game,some presumptions such as the game's utility function are modified,and a mechanism to change tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge is constructed to carry out an analysis of a two-player knowledge flow management.The characteristics of the players' optimal reactions of knowledge flow management are studied,and the results bear evidence of the facts that a gap always exists under the spillover effect.Meanwhile,tacit knowledge seems more important to the development of enterprises than explicit knowledge.So it implies that the foremost task for the development of the modern service industry is to strengthen the settings and institutions for the flux of tacit knowledge and enterprise knowledge management.

Strategies to Promote the Urban Tourism Competitiveness in Shenyang Based on Modern Service Industry Framework

By describing the status quo of tourism industry in Shenyang and by eval- uating and comparatively analyzing the tourism competitiveness in the four cities of Shenyang, Dalian, Changchuan and Harbin, this paper points out advantages and existing problems in tourism competitiveness of Shenyang and finally comes up with strategies to promote the competitiveness of tourism in Shenyang.

Basic Characteristics,Spatial Disparity and Its Major Influencing Factors of Service Industry in China

Based on the analysis of its basic characteristics, this article investigated the disparities of Chinese service industry among the three regions （the eastern China, the western China and the middle China） and inter-provincial disparities of that in the three regions by Theil coefficient and cluster analysis. Then, major factors influencing its spatial disparity were explored by correlation analysis and regression analysis. The conclusions could be drawn as follows. 1） The development of Chinese service industry experienced three phases since the 1980s： rapid growth period, slow growth period, and recovery period. From the proportion of value-added and employment, its development was obviously on the low level. From the composition of industrial structure, traditional service sectors were dominant, but modem service sectors were lagged. Moreover, its spatial disparity was distinct. 2） The level of Chinese service industry was divided into five basic regional ranks： well-developed, developed, relatively-developed, underdeveloped and undeveloped regions, As a whole, the overall structure of spatial disparity was steady in 1990-2005. But there was notable gradient disparity in the interior structure of service industry among different provinces. Furthermore, the overall disparity expanded rapidly in 1990-2005. The inter-provincial disparity of service industry in the three regions, especially in the eastern China, was bigger than the disparity among the three regions. And 3） the level of economic development, the level of urban development, the scale of market capacity, the level of transportation and telecommunication, and the abundance of human resources were major factors influencing the development of Chinese service industry.

Innovative Business Model Canvas for Foreign Entrepreneurship in Food Service Industry

This study aims to utilize the business model canvas to explore foreign entrepreneurial strategies in Taiwan.The contribution of business model canvas is expected to assist entrepreneurs to build up more effective decisions and judgements as well as increase the probability of success.This study is divided into three major phases.First,the research framework and interview outline were established on the basis of relevant literatures review.Next,this paper used semi-structured interviews for six foreign entrepreneurs.Through the content analysis of interview results,a new 10 building blocks of business model canvas in the food service industry for foreign entrepreneurship was thereafter developed.The results of the analysis would enable foreign entrepreneurs who would like to establish business in Taiwan to review as potential strategies,as well as a further reference to attract foreigners who would like to start new business ventures in Taiwan.

Based on 2012 input-output table of Shandong province and the official statistics, this article uses the input-output analysis method to build the input-output table. On the basis of the development of service industry in Shandong province's ability, we make a theoretical analysis framework of a comprehensive in-depth analysis on pull employment, creatively will cost tax rate, fully and completely labor capital and the combination of both the industry development space. Resilience and Stability in Organizations Employing Cloud Computing in the Financial Services Industry

The services and solutions offered by cloud computing continue to grow, just as the number of organizations relying on the service. Cloud computing has become prevalent in the financial services industry, where 83% of financial services institutions identified cloud computing as a primary element of their infrastructure. Although there are specific benefits of cloud computing that organizations rely on such as access to critical services and lower costs, there is the possibility that cloud computing will create costs for organizations. The purpose of the study was to present an intensive review of the benefits and threats by investigating resilience and stability of the organizations in financial services industry that use cloud computing as their primary element of infrastructure. Data collected from the interview was used to answer original research questions, which are: How are organizations in the financial services industry resilient when faced with threats or losses associated with the use of cloud computing in their organization? How do organizations in the financial services industry maintain stability when faced with threats or losses associated with the use of cloud computing in their organization? The study supports the advancement of knowledge by identifying the threats and losses that occur due to the use of cloud computing, and organizations understand common threats and thus implement proper mitigation.

A study of the correlation between per capita income and the proportion of the service industry during China’s economic transition

Based on a provincial panel threshold regression model with per capita GDP as the threshold variable,this paper explores the correlation between per capita GDP and the proportion of employment in the service industry in different stages of China’s economic development.The results show that no matter the development stage,there is always a positive correlation between the two.The results also show that the more advanced the economic development stage,the bigger and more obvious is the regression coefficient.The empirical results based on stochastic frontier analysis(SFA)modeling indicate that the development of the service industry can always contribute to the improvement of national economic efficiency by creating employment opportunities and enhancing efficiencies in related industries.The more developed an economy is,the more significant is the effect.The results of descriptive statistics suggest that there is no empirical factual basis to support the belief that it is normal for China to have a low service industry proportion at its current economic development stage.This paper seeks to illustrate the negative influence of an underdeveloped service industry on China’s economy,and to encourage leapfrog development of the service industry in China.

Why rapid urbanization can’t improve employment absorption capacity of service industry in China:reflections on innovating the model of interaction between service industry development and urbanization under economic transformation and upgrading

Mathematical models show that the urbanization process is an important factor affecting the transfer of labor among economic sectors.The regression results using time-series data since China’s reform and opening up show that there is significant positive correlation between urbanization and the service industry’s ability to create jobs.However,there is no Granger Causation between them.Therefore,China should shift from focusing on industry park construction to paying more attention to improving urban functions by increasing their employment density of urban services.

Factors Affecting the Ratio of Service Industry in GDP： A Comparative Analysis of China, Japan, and South Korea

Based on the input-output model and using a demand side approach, this paper surveys how factors such as consumption, investment, net export, intermediate input and price affect the ratio of China＇s service industry as compared with Japan and South Korea. An analysis of China＇s data indicates that price and residential consumption structure are key contributing factors to the rising ratio of the service industry. Conversely, intermediate input and government consumption are factors that lead to a decrease in the ratio of the service industry. An analysis of Japan and South Korea shows that price and residential consumption structures were linked to the rises in their service industry. This paper concludes that the ratio of China＇s service industry to gross domestic product （GDP） will continue to rise over the 12th Five-Year Plan period （2011-2015） and beyond.

The Impact and Spillover Effects of Chinese Ports on Urban Service Industry under De-maritimization:A Perspective for Port Economic Geography Analysis

Will ports become less important in a post-industrial period dominated by service industries?This paper examines the impact and the spillover effects of ports on city economies.The results show that ports contribute to city economies primarily through producer and consumer services.To be specific,ports can drive the development of port-related producer services,and port spillover effects from other cities have a broader impact on producer services;the port contributes to the development of wholesale and retail trades in the local city but the boost to consumer services comes mainly from spillover effects from other ports.This paper concludes that ports are still shaping economic geography by influencing the service sector,and inter-city coordination mechanisms are suggested because of the spillover effects.

Supply-Side Structural Reform in the Service Industry and Escaping the Middle Income Trap

The internal consumption and production structure of the service industry that now dominates the Chinese economy needs to be optimized.Introducing supply-side structural reform to improve the in-depth integration of advanced manufacturing and the modern service industry and promoting a strong domestic market is the key to escaping the middle income trap.We use 1950-2010 data from 45 non-oil-exporting economies representing the structural evolution of the service industry worldwide to compare Asian economies that have passed through the middle income trap with Latin American counterparts that remain stuck in the trap,and thence proceed to construct a matched model that covers the consumption and production service industries and their supply of human capital,with the aim of identifying the formative mechanisms and conditions for escaping the middle income trap through upgrading the structure of the service industry.Substantially developing the production service sector,raising the supply of public services so as to cultivate the quantity and quality of human capital,and matching senior-level human capital with knowledge-intensive serviceindustries will propel the upgrading and transformation of China’s economic structure toward high-quality development.

Global trends and development of energy services industry in China

Energy service is an effective way to promote energy conservation by market mechanisms,including energy saving services,energy procurement,supply of many varieties of energy,supply of renewable energy technologies,energy-related consulting services,risk management,etc.China is a major energy consumer but energy is in short supply,and the efficiency of energy use is low.China's energy service industry has expanded rapidly,in terms of both the number of new Energy Service Companies entering the market and amount of capital invested in Energy Performance Contracting projects,but the energy service sector in China is still at an early stage of development.Developed countries began early in developing the energy service sector and their energy service market is mature,and the experience of developed countries shows that energy services play a significant role in advancing energy saving and emission reduction.Under the new situation,China needs combine energy services experience of developed countries,and take following measures to accelerate China's energy services rapid and healthy development,including the long-term aspects of policy planning,energy-saving core technology,finance and capital investment,public sector reductions,personnel training,and so on.
