China became the world's second largest liquefied natural gas(LNG)importer in 2018 but has faced extremely high import costs due to a lack of bargaining power.Assessments of the Shanghai LNG Price Index,first rele...China became the world's second largest liquefied natural gas(LNG)importer in 2018 but has faced extremely high import costs due to a lack of bargaining power.Assessments of the Shanghai LNG Price Index,first released in 2015,are vital for improving the understanding of these cost dynamics.This paper,using the LNG price index data from the Shanghai Petroleum and Gas Exchange(SHPGX)coupled with domestic and international LNG prices from July 1,2015 to December 31,2018,estimates several econometric models to evaluate the long-term and short-term equilibriums of the Shanghai LNG Price Index,the responses to market information shocks and the leading or lagging relationships with LNG and alternative energy prices from other agencies.The results show that the LNG price index of the SHPGX has already exhibited a long-term equilibrium and short-term adjustment mechanisms to reflect the average price level and market movements,but the market information transparency and price discovery efficiency of the index are still inadequate.China's LNG market is still relatively independent of other natural gas markets,and marketization reforms are under way in China.The influence of the SHPGX LNG price index on the trading decisions of market participants is expected to improve with further development of China's LNG reforms,the formation of a natural gas entry-exit system,and the increasing liquidity of the hub.展开更多

Sports wagering data have previously been useful in assessing competitive balance in sports. Our approach was motivated by the amount of media scrutiny that accompanied the winning streak of the NBA’s Miami Heat and the point streak of the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks which occurred simultaneously for the most part in 2013. The topic came to the forefront again with the 2014-2015 winning streak of the Atlanta Hawks. Three streaks are highlighted in our paper. The length of the streaks, the quality of the competition, injuries, and a variety of other factors were mentioned in the media but the discussion was limited to subjective opinions as no way of properly weighing relative influence of the factors was identified. Wagering markets provide an excellent source of information for making these judgments. Several complementary measures are described and the most impressive team streaks within and across professional baseball, basketball, football, and ice hockey are identified.展开更多

Through a close reading of Wei Hui＇s bestseller Shanghai Baby 0999）, this article highlights five elements to delimit a post-romantic neoliberal literary sensibility and its ruptures： （1） a ＂melotraumatic＂ ques...Through a close reading of Wei Hui＇s bestseller Shanghai Baby 0999）, this article highlights five elements to delimit a post-romantic neoliberal literary sensibility and its ruptures： （1） a ＂melotraumatic＂ quest for exuberance, （2） denial of dependency, （3） a celebration of individual choice and market rationalities, （4） disillusionment and disappointment, and （5） a quest for intelligibility through narrative. Along the way I probe the narrator＇s residual romanticism as a little-addressed foundation of the novel＇s testimony to a generational sensibility. By examining the relationship between Coco the narrator and Coco the protagonist, I contend that the narrator＇s sustained self-remembering evokes her growing unease with neoliberal values. The tension between post-romantic cynicism and residual romanticism suggests the extent to which a supposedly dissident novel may entice precisely for the ways its deep structure reinforces dominant discourses. Whereas Coco the protagonist follows a logic of consumerism, Coco the narrator gestures to non-commercial values--loyalty, care, empathy, trust, and solidarity. Appreciating the novel＇s residual romanticism alongside its post-romantic cynicism sheds new light on the story, its context, ambiguous feminism, and reception.展开更多

In terms of interest parity theory...It is of practical significance to study how to fully play the promoting effect of Shanghai Free Trade Zone(SFTZ) on China's marketization of interest rate after setting up SFTZ. In terms of interest parity theory,this article tries to divide the process of China's marketization of interest rate into different stages and conduct in-depth study of the formation mechanism of interest rate of each stage from the perspective of capital flow. The results show that marketization of interest rate is a system project. It can be divided into three stages: official interest rate supplemented market, two-track system and integration, according to the progress of marketization of interest rate, and the formation mechanism of interest rate of each stage varies. Free trade zone is a domestic and international hub for capital flow. The condition of capital flow influences capital supply, thus affecting the formation mechanism of interest rate domestically in free trade zone and promoting the progress of China's marketization of interest rate. Marketization of interest rate, capital account liberalization, internationalization of RMB, and construction of international financial center are the supplementary, inseparable and transitional process. Therefore, the promoting effect of SFTZ on the marketization of interest rate, the capital account liberalization, the internationalization of RMB and the construction of international financial center should be made full use of. Finally, on the basis of it, this study explores hardships that China's marketization of interest rate faces after the foundation of SFTZ and puts forward corresponding policy suggestion.展开更多

This paper has a research on the textile and garment market, industry cluster and regional economy, recognize textile professional market and regional economy as the main research object, industrial cluster as the intermediary variable. Establish textile and garment market, industrial cluster, regional economy as the main trunk of structural equation model and carry on the empirical analysis. From the empirical analysis, this paper find that the coefficient of textile and garment market effecting on industrial cluster is 0.91, and industrial cluster on regional economy is 0.93, that means results verify hypothesis relationships between the three of them Finally, according to each path coefficients, providing relevant suggestions for the Shanghai area development of textile and garment market, related industries cluster and regional economy development.展开更多

We compared the classical methods of univariate predict...Quantifying the potential market of sports licenses is key in order for National Governing Bodies of sport （NGBs） to be able to design good strategic planning. We compared the classical methods of univariate prediction and the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average （ARIMA） methods. Reliability of the available data was verified with the Time Series Regression with ARIMA Noise, Missing and Outliers （TRAMO） method, and the existence of a trend was verified using Daniel＇s test. For the purposes of this study--the researches collected and analysed secondary data from a 40-year series in 45 sports in Spain covering a very long period of time in a variety of sport disciplines. The study shows that, with the available data, short- and mid-term forecasting is possible in a number of sports, but not in all of them. It also proves that Holt＇s classical method of exponential smoothing is the one that yields best results. Golf, Basketball, Athletics and Hunting NGB show worrying prospects of decline levels and need an immediate change in the strategic plans. Other than for forecasting the evolution of athletes in the mid-term in order to improve strategic planning in NGBs, the present findings can be useful for public authorities to define their aid policies for NGBs, and they can also help companies in the industry to anticipate market developments.展开更多
