Adaptive Signal Conditioning Technology in Fighter Weapon System Test

In order to realize the real-time and precise test for a weapon system of a certain type of fighter,a signal classification method according to attributes is proposed,common input channels for multiple signals are configured optimally,and a test adapter and an adaptive signal conditioning module is designed. The hardware of conditioning module can be configured flexibly and the programmable test range can be adjusted owing to programmable multiplexer. An FPGA adaptive filter is designed by the calculated filter coefficient vectors with LMS method to solve the problem of parallel test of fighter weapon system in electromagnetic interference environment. The adaptive signal conditioning technology is characterized by high efficiency,precision and integration. Its application makes the test system successful to conduct real-time and parallel test for a weapon system,which is developed based on VXI bus and virtual-instrument technology. 展开更多

A new CO2 laser dispersion interferometer has been developed in the HL-2 M tokamak to measure the electron density.In order to meet the needs of high-precision measurement,a data acquisition system with real-time signal conditioning(RSC)method is proposed.It can eliminate part of the impacts of environmental factors,such as mechanical vibration,light path changes,and plasma refraction effect during experiments.In harsh environments,the system can measure the line-integrated density with a high precision of 2×10^18 m^-2 with the RSC method.The system has been tested in a recent HL-2 A experimental campaign,and the results show that the RSC method plays an important role in the plasma electron density measurement. 展开更多

In order to achieve both the signal condition remote control and the work statute self-check through Ethernet,a distributed signal condition (DSC) system has been developed for control and data acquisition (CODAC) in the EAST tokamak nuclear fusion experiment.Based on differential amplifiers,analog multiplexers and the embedded Ethernet communication technology,a DSC system is designed and produced.This paper summarizes the DSC system design,and presents a kind of calibration method for it.This DSC system has been integrated into the EAST CODAC system,and used successfully in the 2008 EAST experiments.The user-friendly,high performance,and cost-effective DSC system greatly improves the work efficiency and reduces the fault rates of the CODAC system. 展开更多

To improve the reliability of the light emitting diode(LED)signal lamp filament current monitoring alarm instrument for metro systems,a new type of hot standby online monitoring apparatus was developed which is based on synchronous transmission data(STD)bus technology.In this system,a double hot standby mode can be achieved by adopting bus arbitration.In addition,to detect the effective value of alternating current which is from 0 to 200 mA in the signal lamp lighting circuit,a precision rectifier signal conditioning circuit and an isolated acquisition circuit were designed.This new type of alarm instrument has high detection accuracy and could meet the functional requirements for metro signal systems after comparing it with some industry products that were applied on the spot. 展开更多

The Duke storage ring is a dedicated driver for the storage ring based oscillator free-electron lasers(FELs), and the High Intensity Gamma-ray Source(HIGS). It is operated with a beam current ranging from about1 mA to 100 mA per bunch for various operations and accelerator physics studies. High performance operations of the FEL and γ-ray source require a stable electron beam orbit, which has been realized by the global orbit feedback system. As a critical part of the orbit feedback system, the electron beam position monitors(BPMs) are required to be able to precisely measure the electron beam orbit in a wide range of the single-bunch current. However, the high peak voltage of the BPM pickups associated with high single-bunch current degrades the performance of the BPM electronics, and can potentially damage the BPM electronics. A signal conditioning method using low pass filters is developed to reduce the peak voltage to protect the BPM electronics, and to make the BPMs capable of working with a wide range of single-bunch current. Simulations and electron beam based tests are performed. The results show that the Duke storage ring BPM system is capable of providing precise orbit measurements to ensure highly stable FEL and HIGS operations. 展开更多

In this article, some of the main contributions to BI (Bio-Impedance) parameter-based systems for medical, biological and industrial fields, oriented to develop micro laboratory systems are summarized. These small systems are enabled by the development of new measurement techniques and systems (labs), based on the impedance as biomarker. The electrical properties of the life mater allow the straightforward, low cost and usually non-invasive measurement methods to define its status or value, with the possibility to know its time evolution. This work proposes a review of bio-impedance based methods being employed to develop new LoC (Lab-on-a-Chips) systems, and some open problems identified as main research challenges, such as, the accuracy limits of measurements techniques, the role of the microelectrode-biological impedance modeling in measurements and system portability specifications demanded for many applications. 展开更多

Being able to significantly reduce system installation time and cost,wireless sensing technology has attracted much interest in the structural health monitoring(SHM)community.This paper reports the field application of a wireless sensing system on a 4-span highway bridge located in Wayne,New Jersey in the US.Bridge vibration due to traffic and ambient excitation is measured.To enhance the signal-to-noise ratio,a low-noise high-gain signal conditioning module is developed for the wireless sensing system.Nineteen wireless and nineteen cabled accelerometers are first installed along the sidewalk of two neighboring bridge spans.The performance of the wireless sensing system is compared with the high-precision cabled sensing system.In the next series of testing,16 wireless accelerometers are installed under the deck of another bridge span,forming a 4×4 array.Operating deflection analysis is successfully conducted using the wireless measurement of traffic and ambient vibrations. 展开更多

A universal and low-cost temperature thermometer is realized via a special circuit,integrated circuit chip with microprocessor and analog to digital converter,and digital bus interface.Various thermocouples and resistance temperature detectors used for temperature sensing may be connected to same thermometer.A special signal condition circuitry is designed and a matching algorithm is proposed.A novel calibration method named disassembled calibration is proposed in order to enhance efficiency and flexibility for the whole system.Additionally,it presents a combination method of low order polynomial fitting and piecewise linearity for the nonlinearity calibration of the thermocouple and the resistance temperature detector.A cold junction compensation based on digital way is described.And the matching algorithm and calibration method may eliminate errors stemming from excitation voltage source and reference voltage source,and can weaken quantization error of analog to digital converter and drift of components,too.Furthermore,the 400 times oversampling is completed by sequential and equal interval sampling to upgrade accuracy of analog to digital converter from original 12 to 15 bits and to raise signal-to-noise ratio.Finally,during a long time monitoring,experiment results show that errors at each static point are less than±0.2°C for the thermocouple system and less than±0.1°C for the resistance temperature detector system. 展开更多
