In order to quickly set up a system-level signal integrity (SI) simulation flow for the DDR3 interface, two system-level SI simulation methodologies, which are board-level S-parameter extraction in the frequency-domain and system-level simulation assumptions in the time domain, are introduced in this paper. By comparing the flow of Speed2000 and PowerSI/Hspice, PowerSI is chosen for the printed circuit board (PCB) board-level S-parameter extraction, while Tektronix oscilloscope (TDS7404) is used for the DDR3 waveform measurement. The lab measurement shows good agreement between simulation and measurement. The study shows that the combination of PowerSI and Hspice is recommended for quick system-level DDR3 SI simulation.展开更多

Virtual technology is widely utilized in various vehicle test-beds. These test-beds are mainly used to simulate the driving training, conduct the research on drivers' behaviors, or give virtual demonstrations of the transportation environment. However, the study on the active safety of the running vehicle in the virtual environment is still insufficient. A virtual scene including roads and vehicles is developed by using the software Creator and Vega, and radars and cameras are also simulated in the scene. Based on dSPACE's rapid prototyping simulation and its single board DS1103, a simulation model including vehicle control signals is set up in MATLAB/Simulink, the model is then built into C code, and the system defined file(SDF) is downloaded to the DS1103 board through the experiment debug software ControlDesk and is kept running. Programming is made by mixing Visual C++ 6.0, MATLAB API and Vega API. Control signals are read out by invoking library function MLIB/MTRACE of dSPACE. All the input, output, and system state values are acquired by arithmetic and are dynamically associated with the running status of the virtual vehicle. An intelligent vehicle experiment system is thus developed by virtue of program and integration. The system has not only the demonstration function, such as general driving, cruise control, active avoiding collision, but also the function of virtual experiment. Parameters of the system can be set according to needs, and the virtual test results can be analyzed and studied and used for the comparison with the existing models. The system reflects the running of the intelligent vehicle in the virtual traffic environment, at the same time, the system is a new attempt performed on the intelligent vehicle travel research and provides also a new research method for the development of intelligent vehicles.展开更多

Since their discovery in phytochrome-mediated light signaling pathways, recent studies have unraveled new functions of PIFs in integrating multiple signaling pathways not only through their role as transcription factors directly targeting gene expression but also by interacting with diverse groups of factors to optimize plant growth and development. These include endogenous (e.g., hormonal) as well as abiotic (light, circadian, and elevated temperature) and biotic (defense responses) pathways. PIFs interact with key factors in each of these pathways and tailor the outcome of the signal integration among these pathways. This review discusses the roles of PIFs as pivotal signal integrators in regulating plant growth and development.展开更多

The generation of polarization multiplexing millimeter-wave (mm-wave) wireless signal is based on the photonic technique. After 20-km fiber transmission, polarization diversity and heterodyne beating are implemented to convert the polarization components of the polarization-multiplexing signals from the optical baseband to W-band so that up to 16 Gb/s mm-wave signals can be delivered over 2-m 2~2 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless link. At the receiver base station (BS), polarization combination reconstructs the PDM-QPSK signal which is then launched into another 20-km fiber. In the experiment, coherent detection is introduced to improve receiver sensitivity and constant modulus algorithm (CMA) is applied for polarization de-multiplexing. The bit-error-ratio (BER) for 16-Gb/s PDM- QPSK signal delivery is below the forward-error-correction (FEC) threshold of 3.8× 10-3 with the optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) above 11.8 dB.展开更多
