The results show that the ultrasonic treatment has significant effect on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-6Zn-0.5Y-2Sn alloy. The phases in Mg-6Zn-0.5Y-2Sn alloy are α-Mg, MgZn2, MgSnY, Mg2Sn, and a small amount of I-phase. With the application of ultrasonic treatment, I-phase nearly disappears, and with increasing the ultrasonic treatment power, the coarse dendrites gradually change into roundish equiaxed grains. The second phases at the α-Mg boundaries transform from coarse, semicontinuous and non-uniform to fine, discontinuous, uniform and dispersive. When the ultrasonic treatment power is 700 W, the best comprehensive mechanical properties of Mg-6Zn-0.5Y-2Sn alloy are obtained. Compared with the untreated alloy, the 0.2%tensile yield strength, ultimate tensile strength and elongation are improved by 28%, 30%and 67%, respectively.展开更多

Large magnetization difference in Ni-Mn-Sn alloy obtained by addition of Co arises from enhancement of magnetization of austenite due to change of Mn-Mn interaction from anti-ferromagnetism to ferromagnetism. Total energy difference between paramagnetic and ferromagnetic austenite plays an important role in magnetic transition of Ni-Co-Mn-Sn. The altered Mn 3d states due to Co substitution give rise to difference in magnetic properties.展开更多

The enthalpy of the droplet has been measured by non adiabatic calorimetric method as a function of the flight distance. A droplet solidification simulation model has been used to compare with the experimental data. The results show that the enthalpy released by the droplets in the calorimeter is 11.88 J/g and 22.29 J/g less than the simulated values up to a certain flight distance at 0.485 m and 0.460 m for 150 μm and 185 μm droplets respectively, but agrees with the expected values at larger distance. The formation of the metastable structure in the droplets has been verified metallographically and by calculations based on a thermodynamic model.展开更多

In these two alloys, experimental maximum undercoolings of 304 K (0.18TL ) and 286K (0.17TL ) are achieved and the dendritic growth velocities attain 39.8 and 25.1 m/s, respectively. The transition of morphology from coarse dendrite into equiaxed structure occurs and the grain size of the a (Ni) phase decreases remarkably when the undercooling increases. Both the lattice constant and microhardness increase obviously with the enhancement of undercooling. The enrichment of Cu and Sn solute contents reduces the dendritic growth velocity, while enhances the lattice constant and microhardness of a (Ni) phase.展开更多

Likewise, the addition of Zn improves its strength but simultaneous addition of Al slightly decreases the strength. The results are correlated with the types of intermetallic phases that form in various alloys.

文摘The microstructure and properties of the as-cast,as-homogenized and as-extruded Mg−6Zn−4Sn−1Mn(ZTM641)alloy with various Al contents(0,0.5,1,2,3 and 4 wt.%)were investigated by OM,XRD,DSC,SEM,TEM and uniaxial tensile tests. The results show that when the Al content is not higher than 0.5%,the alloys are mainly composed of α-Mg,Mg_(2)Sn,Al_(8)Mn_(5)and Mg_(7)Zn_(3)phases.When the Al content is higher than 0.5%,the alloys mainly consist ofα-Mg,Mg_(2)Sn,MgZn,Mg_(32)(Al,Zn)_(49),Al_(2)Mg_(5)Zn_(2),Al_(11)Mn_(4)and Al_(8)Mn_(5)phases.A small amount of Al(≤1%)can increase the proportion of fine dynamic recrystallized(DRXed)grains during hot-extrusion process. The roomtemperature tensile test results show that the ZTM641−1Al alloy has the best comprehensive mechanical properties,in which the ultimate tensile strength is 332 MPa,yield strength is 221 MPa and the elongation is 15%.Elevatedtemperature tensile test results at 150 and 200℃ show that ZTM641−2Al alloy has the best comprehensive mechanical properties.

文摘The liquid state undercoolability and crystal growth kinetics of ternary Ni-5%Cu-5%Sn and Ni-10%Cu-10%Sn alloys are investigated by the glass fluxing method. The enrichment of Cu and Sn solute contents reduces the dendritic growth velocity, while enhances the lattice constant and microhardness of a (Ni) phase.
