These networks exhibit a complex interplay of random and structured features. We encounter networks regularly in our daily activities, whether it is logging into websites, commuting by train, going to work, or attending school. Networks are prevalent in various academic disciplines and practical applications, spanning biology, physics, engineering, social science, and numerous other fields. The early 21st century has witnessed a rapid expansion of techniques facilitating human interaction, significantly impacting behavior and social bonding in both urban and rural settings. The availability and accessibility of extensive population datasets have spurred ongoing research into understanding and shaping human inclinations and sociological phenomena in unconventional ways. This review delves into the nuanced aspects of social physics, exploring the rationale behind choosing this research topic, various conceptual frameworks, categorizations, and distinctions between machine learning and deep learning. The article briefly outlines the advantages of leveraging big data in social physics, highlighting its transformative potential. Lastly, the authors provide insights into several applications of social physics in subsequent sections, offering a glimpse into its real-world implications.展开更多

Among these spaces, shopping malls are significant with their improved physical and social environments for consumption and leisure for all the family. One of the important marginalized groups, to whom the mall appeals, are young people. Within this framework, the main purpose of this study is to investigate the consumption and leisure practices and experiences of young people in Turkey from their point of view. Migros, a shopping mall in Ankara, was chosen as the site for this research, where both consumption and leisure practices are overlapping within the same space. The research was carried out through observation and in-depth interviews with 104 teenagers. The results indicated that shopping malls were the main leisure and consumption site for teenagers. Teenagers' choice of malls as their favorite leisure and consumption space were found to be the result of some factors such as restrictions which were provoked by their parents, security concerns, location of the mall, and accessibility and limited financial resources. These factors seemed to lead to restrictions in the choice of places to spend their leisure time and limit the use of leisure spaces other than malls. As a consumer group in the mall space, teenagers had some complaints about the prices of facilities which seemed to be influential on their choices of consumption and leisure practices in the mall environment.展开更多

The impact of ICT has accelerated the progress of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and influenced the evolution of smart, sustainable, stable society development. Making the trustworthy information and communication technologies infrastructure widely available will promote the community innovation needed to stimulate domestic economics, provide decent work, and reduce inequalities. This article attempts to outline a big picture about the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)’s trust provisioning framework, including its motivation, current status, and application for achieving the UN SDGs by 2030. This article first describes the purpose of the UN SDGs and the evolution of the industrial revolution, then demonstrates the challenges of global risks affecting the fourth industrial revolution and the need for trustworthy ICT infrastructures. Subsequently, the article evaluates the ITU trust provisioning framework and assesses its applications in the future knowledge society, trust provisioning ecosystem, and cyber, physical, and social infrastructure toward achieving UN SDGs. Use cases are also presented in this article to show the effectiveness of the ITU trust provisioning framework on achieving UN SDGs.展开更多
