This study aimed to determine the prevalence of HIV, HCV and HBV co-infections in pregnant women at Bangui Community University Hospital and the cost of screening. Methods: A cross-sectional study involving consenting pregnant women who came for antenatal care was performed. HIV, HCV antibodies and HBV antigens were detected using Exacto Triplex? HIV/HCV/HBsAg rapid test, cross-validated by ELISA tests. Sociodemographic and professional data, the modes of transmission and prevention of HIV and both hepatitis viruses were collected in a standard sheet and analyzed using the Epi-Info software version 7. Results: Pregnant women aged 15 to 24 were the most affected (45.3%);high school girls (46.0%), and pregnant women living in cohabitation (65.3%) were the most represented. Twenty-five (16.7%) worked in the formal sector, 12.7% were unemployed housewives and the remainder in the informal sector. The prevalence of HIV, HBV, and HCV viruses was 11.8%, 21.9% and 22.2%, respectively. The prevalence of co-infections was 8.6% for HIV-HBV, 10.2% for HIV-HCV, 14.7% for HBV-HCV and 6.5% for HIV-HBV-HCV. All positive results and 10% of negative results by the rapid test were confirmed by ELISA tests. The serology of the three viruses costs 39,000 FCFA (60 Euros) by ELISA compared to 10,000 FCFA (15.00 Euros) with Exacto Triplex? HIV/HCV/AgHBs (BioSynex, Strasbourg, France). Conclusion: The low level of education and awareness of hepatitis are barriers to development and indicate the importance of improving the literacy rate of women in the Central African Republic (CAR). Likewise, the high prevalence of the three viruses shows the need for the urgent establishment of a national program to combat viral hepatitis in the CAR.展开更多

The purpose of the paper is toinvestigate the influence of the ground profile and the presence of the train body on the sound radiation fromthe rail.Design/methodology/approach – Two-dimensional boundary element calculations are used, in which therail vibration is the source. The ground profile and various different shapes of train body are introduced in themodel, and results are observed in terms of sound power and sound pressure. Comparisons are also made withvibro-acoustic measurements performed with and without a train present.Findings – The sound radiated by the rail in the absence of the train body is strongly attenuated by shieldingdue to the ballast shoulder. When the train body is present, the sound from the vertical rail motion is reflectedback down toward the track where it is partly absorbed by the ballast. Nevertheless, the sound pressure at thetrackside is increased by typically 0–5 dB. For the lateral vibration of the rail, the effects are much smaller. Oncethe sound power is known, the sound pressure with the train present can be approximated reasonably well withsimple line source directivities.Originality/value – Numerical models used to predict the sound radiation from railway rails have generallyneglected the influence of the ground profile and reflections from the underside of the train body on the soundpower and directivity of the rail. These effects are studied in a systematic way including comparisons with measurements.展开更多

Channel modeling at sub-THz bands is essential for the design and deployment of future wireless communication systems. Channel measurement is a widely adopted method to obtain channel characteristics and establish mathematical channel models. Channel measurements depend on the design and construction of channel sounders. Thus, reliable channel sounding techniques and accurate channel measurements are required. In this paper, the requirements of an ideal channel sounder are discussed and the main channel sounding techniques are described for the subTHz frequency bands. The state-of-the-art sub-THz channel sounders reported in the literature and respective channel measurements are presented. Moreover, a vector network analyzer(VNA) based channel sounder, which supports frequency bands from 220 to330 GHz is presented and its performance capability and limitation are evaluated. This paper also discussed the challenge and future outlook of the sub-THz channel sounders and measurements.展开更多

Comparedto video analytics, audio analytics offers several benefits, includingless expensive equipment and upkeep expenses. Additionally, the volume ofthe audio datastream is substantially lower than the video camera datastream, especially concerning real-time operating systems, which makes it lessdemanding of the data channel’s bandwidth needs. For instance, automaticlive video streaming from the site of an explosion and gunshot to the policeconsole using audio analytics technologies would be exceedingly helpful forurban surveillance. Technologies for audio analytics may also be used toanalyze video recordings and identify occurrences. This research proposeda deep learning model based on the combination of convolutional neuralnetwork (CNN) and recurrent neural network (RNN) known as the CNNRNNapproach. The proposed model focused on automatically identifyingpulse sounds that indicate critical situations in audio sources. The algorithm’saccuracy ranged from 95% to 81% when classifying noises from incidents, including gunshots, explosions, shattered glass, sirens, cries, and dog barking. The proposed approach can be applied to provide security for citizens in openand closed locations, like stadiums, underground areas, shopping malls, andother places.展开更多

文摘Background and Objective: HIV, hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) are very widespread in the world, however, less than 20% of the people affected are diagnosed and treated. Likewise, the high prevalence of the three viruses shows the need for the urgent establishment of a national program to combat viral hepatitis in the CAR.

文摘Purpose – The vibration of the rails is a significant source of railway rolling noise, often forming the dominantcomponent of noise in the important frequency region between 400 and 2000 Hz. These effects are studied in a systematic way including comparisons with measurements.

文摘This study proposed a novel friction law dependent on velocity, displacement and normal stress for kinematic analysis of runout process of rapid landslides. The well-known Yigong landslide occurring in the Tibetan Plateau of China was employed as the case, and the derived dynamic friction formula was included into the numerical simulation based on Particle Flow Code. Results showed that the friction decreased quickly from 0.64(the peak)to 0.1(the stead value)during the 5s-period after the sliding initiation, which explained the behavior of rapid movement of the landslide. The monitored balls set at different sections of the mass showed similar variation characteritics regarding the velocity, namely evident increase at the initial phase of the movement, followed by a fluctuation phase and then a stopping one.The peak velocity was more than 100 m/s and most particles had low velocities at 300s after the landslide initiation. The spreading distance of the landslide was calculated at the two-dimension(profile)and three-dimension scale, respectively.Compared with the simulation result without considering friction weakening effect, our results indicated a max distance of about 10 km from the initial unstable position, which fit better with the actual situation.

文摘Sepiella japonica is a worldwide marine cuttlefish species of high economic value.S.japonica routinely modifying behaviors in reproductive life, such as rapid aging until death after spawning, has been recognized in artificial breeding. However, reproductive behavior at the level of genes is rarely reported, thus, the research on the genetic basis of behavior, reproduction, and artificial breeding was limited. We applied RNA-seq in different stages of reproduction to investigate the reason of rapid aging after spawning,pre-maturity,pre-spawning after maturity, and post-spawning.The retinoid X receptor(RXR)gene family in S.japonica was identified, and 1343–1452 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)in all 3 stages of reproductive life were identified from pairwise m RNA comparisons.Furthermore, through the GO term and KEGG analysis,S.japonica could handle neuronal development and network formation before maturity and have a functional degradation of neural communication, signal transduction, vision, and gene expression after spawning.Eight Sj RXRαs have been identified and they played different roles in growth development or reproduction. Therefore, the regulation of several channels and receptors is the intrinsic molecular mechanism of rapid aging after spawning in S.japonica.This study revealed the survival strategy and provided fundamental data on the level of genes for understanding the reproductive behavior and the reproduction of S.japonica.

文摘Acoustic source localization(ASL)and sound event detection(SED)are two widely pursued independent research fields. In recent years,in order to achieve a more complete spatial and temporal representation of sound field, sound event localization and detection(SELD)has become a very active research topic. This paper presents a deep learning-based multioverlapping sound event localization and detection algorithm in three-dimensional space.Log-Mel spectrum and generalized cross-correlation spectrum are joined together in channel dimension as input features. These features are classified and regressed in parallel after training by a neural network to obtain sound recognition and localization results respectively. The channel attention mechanism is also introduced in the network to selectively enhance the features containing essential information and suppress the useless features. Finally,a thourough comparison confirms the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed SELD algorithm.Field experiments show that the proposed algorithm is robust to reverberation and environment and can achieve higher recognition and localization accuracy compared with the baseline method.

文摘Under the influence of anthropogenic and climate change, the problems caused by urban heat island(UHI)has become increasingly prominent. In order to promote urban sustainable development and improve the quality of human settlements,it is significant for exploring the evolution characteristics of urban thermal environment and analyzing its driving forces.Taking the Landsat series images as the basic data sources, the winter land surface temperature(LST)of the rapid urbanization area of Fuzhou City in China was quantitatively retrieved from 2001 to 2021.Combing comprehensively the standard deviation ellipse model, profile analysis and GeoDetector model, the spatio-temporal evolution characteristics and influencing factors of the winter urban thermal environment were systematically analyzed. The results showed that the winter LST presented an increasing trend in the study area during 2001–2021,and the winter LST of the central urban regions was significantly higher than the suburbs. There was a strong UHI effect from 2001 to 2021with an expansion trend from the central urban regions to the suburbs and coastal areas in space scale. The LST of green lands and wetlands are significantly lower than croplands, artificial surface and unvegetated lands.Vegetation and water bodies had a significant mitigation effect on UHI,especially in the micro-scale.The winter UHI had been jointly driven by the underlying surface and socio-economic factors in a nonlinear or two-factor interactive enhancement mode, and socio-economic factors had played a leading role. This research could provide data support and decision-making references for rationally planning urban layout and promoting sustainable urban development.

文摘Due to the large amount of unused and unexplored spectrum resources, the so-called subTerahertz(sub-THz) frequency bands from 100 to 300 GHz are seen as promising bands for the next generation of wireless communication systems. This paper also discussed the challenge and future outlook of the sub-THz channel sounders and measurements.

文摘The geometry of a landslide dam plays a critical role in its stability and failure mode, and is influenced by the damming process. However, there is a lack of understanding of the factors that affect the 3D geometry of a landslide dam.To address this gap,we conducted a study using the smoothed particle hydrodynamics numerical method to investigate the evolution of landslide dams. Our study included 17 numerical simulations to examine the effects of several factors on the geometry of landslide dams, including valley inclination, sliding angle, landslide velocity, and landslide mass repose angle.Based on this, three rapid prediction models were established for calculating the maximum height, the minimum height, and the maximum width of a landslide dam.The results show that the downstream width of a landslide dam remarkably increases with the valley inclination. The position of the maximum dam height along the valley direction is independent of external factors and is always located in the middle of the landslide width area.In contrast, that position of the maximum dam height across the valley direction is significantly influenced by the sliding angle and landslide velocity. To validate our models,we applied them to three typical landslide dams and found that the calculated values of the landslide dam geometry were in good agreement with the actual values. The findings of the current study provide a better understanding of the evolution and geometry of landslide dams, giving crucial guidance for the prediction and early warning of landslide dam disasters.

文摘This study investigates the vibration and acoustic properties of porous foam functionally graded(FG)plates under the influence of the temperature field. The dynamics equations of the system are established based on Hamilton's principle by using the higher-order shear deformation theory under the linear displacement-strain assumption. The displacement shape function is assumed according to the four-sided simply-supported(SSSS)boundary condition, and the characteristic equations of the system are derived by combining the motion control equations. The theoretical model of vibro-acoustic coupling is established by using the acoustic theory and fluid-structure coupling solution method under the simple harmonic acoustic wave. The system's natural frequency and sound transmission loss(STL)are obtained through programming calculations and compared with the literature and COMSOL simulation to verify the validity and reliability of the theoretical model. The effects of various factors, such as temperature, porosity coefficients, gradient index, core thickness,width-to-thickness ratio on the vibration, and STL characteristics of the system, are discussed. The results provide a theoretical basis for the application of porous foam FG plates in engineering to optimize vibration and sound transmission properties.

文摘Video analytics is an integral part of surveillance cameras. The proposed approach can be applied to provide security for citizens in openand closed locations, like stadiums, underground areas, shopping malls, andother places.

文摘The high-fidelity reconstruction of sound speeds is crucial for predicting acoustic propagation in shallow water where internal solitary waves(ISWs)are prevalent.Mapping temperatures from time series to spatial fields is an approach widely used to reproduce the sound speed perturbed by deformed internal waves.However,wave-shape distortions are inherent in the modeling results. This paper analyzes the formation mechanism and dynamic behavior of the distorted waveform that is shown to arise from the mismatch between the modeled and real propagation speeds of individual solitons within an ISW packet. To mitigate distortions,a reconstruction method incorporating the dispersion property of an ISW train is proposed here. The principle is to assign each soliton a real speed observed in the experiment. Then, the modeled solitons propagate at their intrinsic speeds, and the packet disperses naturally with time. The method is applied to reconstruct the sound speed perturbed by ISWs in the South China Sea.The mean and median of the root-mean-square error between the reconstructed and measured sound speeds are below 2 m/s.The modeled shape deformations and packet dispersion agree well with observations, and the waveform distortion is reduced compared with the original method. This work ensures the high fidelity of waveguide-environment reconstructions and facilitates the investigation of sound propagation in the future.
