Plasma membrane vesicles of chrysanthemum ( Dendranthema morifolium (Ramat.) Tzvel.) callus was purified by sucrose gradient centrifugation to investigate the influence of sound stimulation on the lipid physical states and metabolism of plasma membrane. The results showed that sound stimulation decreased the content of phosphodiesters and the fluorescent intensity of DPH, but increased the light scattering value of the membrane, the fluorescent intensity of MC540 and the content of phosphomonoesters, indicating that the vesicles got looser, the charge density and hydrophobicity of membrane surface decreased under sound stimulation of some strength and frequency. However, the membrane fluidity increased under the condition. Meanwhile, the anabolism of membrane lipid increased and the catabolism decreased. It can be seen that the physical state and metabolism of membrane lipid is sensitive to sound stimulation. 展开更多

The development of auditory synapses is a key process for the maturation of heating function. However, it is still on debate regaralng wnemer the development of auditory synapses is dominated by acquired sound stimulations. In this review, we summarize relevant publications in recent decades to address this issue. Most reported data suggest that extrinsic sound stimulations do affect, but not govern the development of periphery auditory synapses. Overall, periphery auditory synapses develop and mature according to its intrinsic mechanism to build up the synaptic connections between sensory neurons and/or interneurons. 展开更多

Lyme disease (LD) and idiopathic sudden deafness (ISD) are supposed to be different diseases with different aetiologies. In an attempt to confirm this assumption, 10 patients with confirmed LD and 12 patients with ISD were consecutively included into the study. Further to the laboratory and audio logical investigation, a low frequency sound (LFS) stimulation on posturography was performed and evaluated. Patients with ISD had higher pure tone average (PTA) than patients with LD (PTA ISD/LD was 72 decibel (dB)/23 dB). There was no difference of vertigo between LD and ISD patients. Patients with ISD have more body sway velocity during the first stimulation than patients with LD. We conclude that the cochlear organ is more affected in ISD patients than in patients with LD. However, the vestibular organ seems to be affected in both diseases. ISD and LD are two different disease entities with different aetiologies but with common otological clinical signs. 展开更多
