Time series analysis is a key technology for medical diagnosis,weather forecasting and financial prediction systems.However,missing data frequently occur during data recording,posing a great challenge to data mining t...Time series analysis is a key technology for medical diagnosis,weather forecasting and financial prediction systems.However,missing data frequently occur during data recording,posing a great challenge to data mining tasks.In this study,we propose a novel time series data representation-based denoising autoencoder(DAE)for the reconstruction of missing values.Two data representation methods,namely,recurrence plot(RP)and Gramian angular field(GAF),are used to transform the raw time series to a 2D matrix for establishing the temporal correlations between different time intervals and extracting the structural patterns from the time series.Then an improved DAE is proposed to reconstruct the missing values from the 2D representation of time series.A comprehensive comparison is conducted amongst the different representations on standard datasets.Results show that the 2D representations have a lower reconstruction error than the raw time series,and the RP representation provides the best outcome.This work provides useful insights into the better reconstruction of missing values in time series analysis to considerably improve the reliability of timevarying system.展开更多

Background Muscle represents a unique and complex system with many components and comprises the major edible part of animals.Vitamin D is a critical nutrient for animals and is known to enhance calcium absorption and ...Background Muscle represents a unique and complex system with many components and comprises the major edible part of animals.Vitamin D is a critical nutrient for animals and is known to enhance calcium absorption and immune response.In recent years,dietary vitamin D supplementation in livestock has received increased attention due to biological responses including improving shear force in mammalian meat.However,the vitamin D acquisition and myofiber development processes in fish differ from those in mammals,and the effect of vitamin D on fish flesh quality is poorly understood.Here,the influence of dietary vitamin D on fillet quality,antioxidant ability,and myofiber development was examined in grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella).Methods A total of 540 healthy grass carp,with an initial average body weight of 257.24±0.63 g,were allotted in 6 experimental groups with 3 replicates each,and respectively fed corresponding diets with 15.2,364.3,782.5,1,167.9,1,573.8,and 1,980.1 IU/kg vitamin D for 70 d.Results Supplementation with 1,167.9 IU/kg vitamin D significantly improved nutritional value and sensory quality of fillets,enhancing crude protein,free amino acid,lipid,and collagen contents;maintaining an ideal pH;and reduc-ing lactate content,shear force,and cooking loss relative to respective values in the control(15.2 IU/kg)group.Average myofiber diameter and the frequency of myofibers>50μm in diameter increased under supplementation with 782.5–1,167.9 IU/kg vitamin D.Levels of oxidative damage biomarkers decreased,and the expression of antioxi-dant enzymes and nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 signaling molecules was upregulated in the 1,167.9 IU/kg vitamin D treatment compared to respective values in the control group.Furthermore,vitamin D supplementation activated cell differentiation by enhancing the expression of myogenic regulatory factors and myocyte enhancer factors compared to that in the control group.In addition,supplementation with 1,167.9 IU/kg vitamin D improved protein deposition associated with protein synthesis molecule(target of rapamycin)signaling and vitamin D receptor paralogs,along with inhibition of protein degradation(forkhead box protein 1)signaling.Conclusions Overall,the results demonstrated that vitamin D strengthened antioxidant ability and myofiber devel-opment,thereby enhancing nutritional value and sensory quality of fish flesh.These findings suggest that dietary vitamin D supplementation is conducive to the production of nutrient-rich,high quality aquaculture products.展开更多

In thi s paper, extreme value theory is first introduced and a model with threshold met hods is proposed to analyze the characteristics of network traffic. In this mode l, only some traffic data that is greater than threshold value is considered. Th en the proposed model with the trace is simulated by using S Plus software. The modeling results show the network traffic model constructed from the extreme va lue theory fits well with that of empirical distribution. Finally, the extreme v alue model with the FARIMA(p,d,q) modeling is compared. The anal ytical results illustrate that extreme value theory has a good application foreg round in the statistic analysis of network traffic. In addition, since only some traffic data which is greater than the threshold is processed, the computation overhead is reduced greatly.展开更多

Objective:To evaluate the value of 3D printing assisted pedicle screw placement in the treatment of thoracolumbar spinal fractures.Methods: 56 cases of thoracolumbar spinal fractures patients underwent 3D printing ass...Objective:To evaluate the value of 3D printing assisted pedicle screw placement in the treatment of thoracolumbar spinal fractures.Methods: 56 cases of thoracolumbar spinal fractures patients underwent 3D printing assisted pedicle screw placement (study group) and another 56 cases of thoracolumbar spinal fractures patients underwent conventional screw placement (control group) in our department from February 2016 to September 2017 were selected. Then the surgical related indicators, JOA score, the reduction of injured vertebrae and complications were recorded and compared between groups at different time points, including, before operation (T0), postoperative 1mon (T1), postoperative 6mon (T2) and postoperative 12mon (T3).Results: The operation time, intraoperative X-ray fluoroscopy frequency and intraoperative blood loss in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), meanwhile the accuracy rate of screw placement was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). JOA scores at T1, T2 and T3 in both groups were significantly higher than those at T0 (P<0.05), and JOA scores at all postoperative time points in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Compared with T0, the ratio of the anterior and posterior border height of injured vertebrae in the two groups at T2 was significantly increased (P<0.05), while the Cobb Angle of sagittal kyphoid significantly was decreased (P<0.05). Meanwhile, the reduction of injured vertebrae in the study group was significantly better than that the control group at T2 (P<0.05). The incidence of complications in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion: The application of 3D printing assisted pedicle screw placement in the treatment has the advantages of less injury to patients, good prognosis and high safety, which is worthy of clinical application.展开更多

This study examined the effects of sublethal heat treatment on the decimal reduction time (D-values) of three L. monocytogenes serotypes (1/2a, 1/2b, 4c), and non-pathogenic L. innocua. The D70 (D-value at 70℃) values of heat-shocked (HS) and non-heat-shocked (NHS) Listeria grown in tryptic soy broth (TSB) were determined. The D70 values of HS L. monocytogenes serotype 1/2a and L. innocua were significantly higher compared to NHS cultures, although by 48 h, the values returned to NHS levels. When HS and NHS 1/2a and 1/2b were inoculated on crab meat and cooked shrimp, the D70 values of HS cultures were at least 2-fold higher, compared to when they were grown in TSB. This increase in heat resistance for the HS cultures may be attributed to the protective effect of the seafood matrix itself.展开更多

The seismicity data of moderate or small earthquakes during 1972 ~ 1996 in North China are used to perform spacial scanning of seismicity factor A-value. The result shows that there are obviously anomaly zones of A-value with better prediction effect in the mid-term of 2~3 years before most moderately strong earthquakes.
