Predicting 3D Radiotherapy Dose-Volume Based on Deep Learning

Cancer is one of the most dangerous diseaseswith highmortality.One of the principal treatments is radiotherapy by using radiation beams to destroy cancer cells and this workflow requires a lot of experience and skill from doctors and technicians.In our study,we focused on the 3D dose prediction problem in radiotherapy by applying the deeplearning approach to computed tomography(CT)images of cancer patients.Medical image data has more complex characteristics than normal image data,and this research aims to explore the effectiveness of data preprocessing and augmentation in the context of the 3D dose prediction problem.We proposed four strategies to clarify our hypothesis in different aspects of applying data preprocessing and augmentation.In strategies,we trained our custom convolutional neural network model which has a structure inspired by the U-net,and residual blocks were also applied to the architecture.The output of the network is added with a rectified linear unit(Re-Lu)function for each pixel to ensure there are no negative values,which are absurd with radiation doses.Our experiments were conducted on the dataset of the Open Knowledge-Based Planning Challenge which was collected from head and neck cancer patients treatedwith radiation therapy.The results of four strategies showthat our hypothesis is rational by evaluating metrics in terms of the Dose-score and the Dose-volume histogram score(DVH-score).In the best training cases,the Dose-score is 3.08 and the DVH-score is 1.78.In addition,we also conducted a comparison with the results of another study in the same context of using the loss function. 展开更多

In civil aviation security screening, laptops, with their intricate structural composition, provide the potential for criminals to conceal dangerous items. Presently, the security process necessitates passengers to individually present their laptops for inspection. The paper introduced a method for laptop removal. By combining projection algorithms with the YOLOv7-Seg model, a laptop’s three views were generated through projection, and instance segmentation of these views was achieved using YOLOv7-Seg. The resulting 2D masks from instance segmentation at different angles were employed to reconstruct a 3D mask through angle restoration. Ultimately, the intersection of this 3D mask with the original 3D data enabled the successful extraction of the laptop’s 3D information. Experimental results demonstrated that the fusion of projection and instance segmentation facilitated the automatic removal of laptops from CT data. Moreover, higher instance segmentation model accuracy leads to more precise removal outcomes. By implementing the laptop removal functionality, the civil aviation security screening process becomes more efficient and convenient. Passengers will no longer be required to individually handle their laptops, effectively enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of security screening. 展开更多

螺旋CT扫描结核分枝杆菌肺病影像学特点及诊断价值研究

目的研究螺旋CT扫描应用于结核分枝杆菌肺病患者影像学特点和临床诊断价值。方法选取2021年10月—2023年2月本院结核分枝杆菌肺病患者155例作为本次研究对象,采用回顾性分析资料的方式进行研究。所有患者均进行螺旋CT扫描检查,并以病理... 目的研究螺旋CT扫描应用于结核分枝杆菌肺病患者影像学特点和临床诊断价值。方法选取2021年10月—2023年2月本院结核分枝杆菌肺病患者155例作为本次研究对象,采用回顾性分析资料的方式进行研究。所有患者均进行螺旋CT扫描检查,并以病理学、细菌学以及纤维支气管镜诊断作为金标准,分析患者影像学特点、诊断价值。结果分析影像学特点,经螺旋CT扫描检查155例,显示存在斑片浸润征象、散播病灶、条索节结征象、胸膜增厚、多发空洞、肺不张、胸腔积液,其中斑片浸润征象(89.03%)、散播病灶(69.68%)、条索节结征象(63.23%)占比较高。分析诊断价值,经金标准检查出阳性120例,阴性35例。采用螺旋CT扫描后,检查出阳性117例,阴性32例。经螺旋CT扫描诊断,阳性检出率(77.42%)、灵敏度(97.50%)、特异度(91.43%)、阳性预测值(97.50%)、阴性预测值(91.43%),其与金标准对比,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。诊断符合率(96.13%)虽然与金标准对比,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。结论针对结核分枝杆菌肺病患者,实施螺旋CT扫描能够尽早较为精确诊断,诊断效果较高,可较为清晰观察影像学特点,具有重要参考价值,有利于为患者尽快制定治疗方案,在临床诊断方案中值得大力实施以及推广。 展开更多

In current research,a series of triaxial tests,which were employed to simulate three typical mining layouts(i.e.,top-coal caving,non-pillar mining and protected coal seam mining),were conducted on coal by using MTS815 Flex Test GT rock mechanics test system,and the fracture networks in the broken coal samples were qualitatively and quantitatively investigated by employing CT scanning and 3D reconstruction techniques.This work aimed at providing a detail description on the micro-structure and fractureconnectivity characteristics of rupture coal samples under different mining layouts.The results show that:(i)for protected coal seam mining layout,the coal specimens failure is in a compression-shear manner and oppositely,(ii)the tension-shear failure phenomenon is observed for top-coal caving and non-pillar mining layouts.By investigating the connectivity features of the generated fractures in the direction ofσ_1,under different mining layouts,it is found that the connectivity level of the fractures of the samples corresponding to non-pillar mining layout was the highest. 展开更多

Pore network structure of ore body is a diffusion channel of leaching agent solution that exerts a significant influence on seepage.The ore body structure,pore distribution,pore and throat size,and pore network characteristics of topsoil,weathered,and semiweathered layers of ionic rare earth ore in southern Jiangxi Province were explored in this study.The effect of leaching operation on the pore structure was investigated,and main factors affecting the seepage were analyzed.Results showed that the semiweathered layer presents a dense structure and a small number of unconnected pores.Pores of topsoil and weathered layers are mainly long and narrow column openings with some planar fractures.Even pore distribution and large size span were observed.Compared with the weathered layer,the topsoil layer demonstrates larger voids,smaller average pore volume and equivalent radius,and fewer coordination throats;however,the average equivalent radius of the throat in the topsoil layer is larger and largescale channels exist through ore body vertically.Hence,permeability of the topsoil layer is significantly higher than that of the weathered layer.Colloidal clay minerals migrate easily and the occurrence of silting in the small porosity blocks the throat and significantly decreases the permeability of the ore body in the leaching process.The equivalent radius of the throat is the key to the seepage.Reducing the migration of fine particles is an effective measure to protect the throat and shorten the leaching period. 展开更多

【目的】X射线CT扫描具有非破坏性、高分辨率等特点,近年来被广泛应用于研究植物根系三维构型。本文介绍了X射线CT技术研究植物根系的原理和方法,并重点阐述了CT图像提取和定量根系的方法。【主要进展】X射线CT可以穿透土体进而获取土... 【目的】X射线CT扫描具有非破坏性、高分辨率等特点,近年来被广泛应用于研究植物根系三维构型。本文介绍了X射线CT技术研究植物根系的原理和方法,并重点阐述了CT图像提取和定量根系的方法。【主要进展】X射线CT可以穿透土体进而获取土体三维结构,并能通过图像分析准确定量土体内部的细节特征(如根系、孔隙等)。目前根系结构研究中应用的CT主要有医用CT、工业显微CT、同步辐射CT等,分别用于研究不同大小和分辨率要求的样品。应用CT扫描根系样品时,样品的制备和扫描参数的选择非常重要,样品的尺寸、容器的材质、扫描功率和扫描时长等因素都会影响CT图像质量。CT图像中提取根系的方法包括全局阈值法、区域生长法、根系追踪法、深度学习法等,结合图像预处理和后处理能更完整地提取根系。利用ImageJ、Rootrak、RooTh等软件,可以定量根系形态学参数(体积、根长、直径等),还可以分析根系三维分布特征(根系生长角度、根系生长深度等)。【展望】从CT图像中提取根系的算法在实际应用中仍存在很多问题,开发提取根系的先进算法,准确获取根系三维构型并将其定量表征,仍将是CT技术用于根系研究的重要方向。由于CT设备性能的特点,扫描样品尺寸和图像分辨率的矛盾仍然是关键问题,X射线CT硬件设备的创新和发展对其在根系研究中更加广泛和有效的应用具有重要意义。 展开更多

多层螺旋CT增强扫描对肝脏占位性病变图像质量及诊断效能的影响

目的:探讨肝脏占位性病变采用多层螺旋CT(MSCT)增强扫描对图像质量及诊断效能的影响。方法:选取2022年1月—2023年6月诏安县医院收治的92例肝脏占位性病变患者,均接受MSCT平扫、MSCT增强扫描,以临床症状、病理检查及随访结果作为金标准... 目的:探讨肝脏占位性病变采用多层螺旋CT(MSCT)增强扫描对图像质量及诊断效能的影响。方法:选取2022年1月—2023年6月诏安县医院收治的92例肝脏占位性病变患者,均接受MSCT平扫、MSCT增强扫描,以临床症状、病理检查及随访结果作为金标准,比较不同检查方法的图像质量、诊断效能及病灶检出情况,并分析不同病灶的图像特征。结果:MSCT增强扫描图像质量优良率为97.83%,较MSCT平扫的90.22%高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);92例肝脏占位性病变患者中,确诊为阳性31例,阴性61例,MSCT平扫的敏感度、特异度、阳性预测值、阴性预测值分别为74.19%、81.97%、67.65%、86.21%,MSCT增强扫描分别为96.77%、95.08%、90.91%、98.31%,MSCT增强扫描的敏感度、特异度、阳性预测值、阴性预测值均较MSCT平扫高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);MSCT增强扫描肝癌病灶检出准确率较MSCT平扫高,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);肝血管瘤有清晰边界,呈稍低密度影,动脉期病灶对比增强,边缘呈片状或结节状,静脉期边缘强化向中央发展;肝囊肿呈低密度影,病灶内无明显钙化及强化现象;局灶性结节增生呈低密度改变,也可呈等密度改变,增强扫描时可见内有中央瘢痕填充,或出现高密度影;肝癌边界模糊不清,整体呈低密度影,部分区域可见等密度或高密度影,动脉期强化效果明显,静脉期强化程度降低。结论:MSCT增强扫描诊断肝脏占位性病变,能够提高图像质量,辅助医师准确鉴别病灶类型,清晰显示病灶特征。 展开更多

目的评价双源64排螺旋CT三期增强扫描及3D后处理功能对肝脏血管瘤容积测定的诊断价值。方法回顾性的分析经临床手术病理证实的60例肝血管瘤的CT资料。测定60例肝脏血管瘤患者不同时相的CT值,并采用3D软件测定不同时相的强化容积。结果 6... 目的评价双源64排螺旋CT三期增强扫描及3D后处理功能对肝脏血管瘤容积测定的诊断价值。方法回顾性的分析经临床手术病理证实的60例肝血管瘤的CT资料。测定60例肝脏血管瘤患者不同时相的CT值,并采用3D软件测定不同时相的强化容积。结果 60例病例中,平扫有79个病灶(91.86%)为低密度灶,7个病灶为等或高密度;动脉期72个病灶边缘点状、斑片状强化,14个未出现强化;门脉期及延迟期相继出现强化,最终都强化至等密度。3D后处理后,可从不同角度不同时相肿瘤的强化容积改变看到不同的瘤体整体形态学改变及肿瘤与肝动脉之间的关系。结论双源64排螺旋CT三期增强扫描及3D后处理可清楚显示肝血管瘤的典型CT表现,对血管瘤的诊断及鉴别诊断有很大价值。 展开更多

We present a method for computed tomography(CT)image processing and modeling for tibia microstructure,achieved by using computer graphics and fractal theory.Given the large-scale image data of tibia species with DICOM standard for clinical applications,we take advantage of algorithms such as image binarization,hot pixel removing and close operation to obtain visually clear image for tibia microstructure.All of these images are based on 20 CT scanning images with 30μm slice thickness and 30μm interval and continuous changes in pores.For each pore,we determine its profile by using an improved algorithm for edge detection.Then,to calculate its three-dimensional fractal dimension,we measure the circumference perimeter and area of the pores of bone microstructure using a line fitting method based on the least squares.Subsequently,we put forward an algorithm for the pore profiles through ellipse fitting.The results show that the pores have significant fractal characteristics because of the good linear correlation between the perimeter and the area parameters in log–log scale coordinates system,and the ratio of the elliptical short axis to the long axis through ellipse fitting tends to 0.6501.Based on support vector machine and structural risk minimization principle,we put forward a mapping database theory of structure parameters among the pores of CT images and fractal dimension,Poisson’s ratios,porosity and equivalent aperture.On this basis,we put forward a new concept for 3D modeling called precision-measuring digital expressing to reconstruct tibia microstructure for human hard tissue. 展开更多

Objectives: To evaluate the value of the arterial phase(AP) of biphase enhanced spiral CT(SCT) in the di-agnosis of small HCC and to investigate the criteria,initial time, ending time and duration of AP.Methods: From May 1995 to March 1999, patients withsmall HCC proved surgically and pathologically in-cluding 49 patients (n=53) in group A, 148 (n=186) ingroup B and 52 (n=52) in group C were collected.Biphase dynamic enhanced SCT scans were performedin all patients of the three groups and additional sin-gle-level dynamic scans only done in the group C. Thedetectability, diagnostic accuracy of lesions and en-hancement of the lesions in AP were analyzed statisti-cally. In addition, the initial time, ending time andduration of AP were measured.Results: The results of the group A showed the de-tectability of small HCC was 88.68% in AP and90.57% in both phases, higher than those by ultra-sound. Markedly enhanced lesions in AP accounted for76% and 78% in the groups B and C respectively. Theinitial time, ending time and duration of AP measuredon single-level dynamic scans were 16.9s, 39.6s and22.7s on average respectively.Conclusions: The biphase dynamic SCT especially itsarterial phase appears to be very valuable in diagnosingsmall HCCs. In order to effectively improve the pathological diagnosis capability and feature resolution of 3D human brain CT images,a threshold segmentation method of multi-resolution 3D human brain CT image based on edge pixel grayscale feature decomposition is proposed in this paper.In this method,first,original 3D human brain image information is collected,and CT image filtering is performed to the collected information through the gradient value decomposition method,and edge contour features of the 3D human brain CT image are extracted.Then,the threshold segmentation method is adopted to segment the regional pixel feature block of the 3D human brain CT image to segment the image into block vectors with high-resolution feature points,and the 3D human brain CT image is reconstructed with the salient feature point as center.Simulation results show that the method proposed in this paper can provide accuracy up to 100%when the signal-to-noise ratio is 0,and with the increase of signal-to-noise ratio,the accuracy provided by this method is stable at 100%.Comparison results show that the threshold segmentation method of multi-resolution 3D human brain CT image based on edge pixel grayscale feature decomposition is signicantly better than traditional methods in pathological feature estimation accuracy,and it effectively improves the rapid pathological diagnosis and positioning recognition abilities to CT images. 展开更多

Application of Dual-Source CT TurboFlash Coarse Pitch Scanning in Coronary Artery Imaging

Objective: To compare and analyze the image quality and radiation dose of three scanning modes of dual-source CT coronary artery retrospectively, and to discuss the application value of TurboFlash coarse pitch scanning mode. Methods: The imaging data of 100 patients who underwent CT coronary angiography (CCTA) using Siemens force CT retrospective gated triggering spiral scan (RES-SPIRAL), adaptive prospective gated triggering sequence scan (SEQ) and prospective coarse pitch scan (TurboFlash) retrospectively was collected. The image quality was evaluated by objective and subjective methods. The effective radiation dose of patients was compared and analyzed, and the indications of the three scanning modes were analyzed. The application value of dual-source CT TurboFlash coarse pitch scanning in coronary artery imaging was evaluated. Results: The results showed that the left main coronary artery, the right coronary artery and their tertiary branches could be clearly displayed in the three groups of images: the left anterior descending branch, the left circumflex branch, and their three-level branches. There was no statistical difference in subjective image quality among the three groups of pictures (P > 0.05). There was no statistical difference in objective evaluation indexes, such as CT value, SNR, CNR and Noise among the three groups (P > 0.05). The patient radiation dose results showed that the effective radiation dose ED of RES-SPIRA scan was (9.22 ± 1.33) mSv. The dose of SEQ was (2.88 ± 2.47) mSv, and the dose of TurboFlash was (0.51 ± 0.16) mSv. There was significant difference in comparison of the three groups (P 0.05). RES-spiral scanning had the highest radiation dose and TurboFlash coarse pitch scanning (TurboFlash) had the lowest radiation dose. Conclusion: TurboFlash coarse pitch scanning is low in dosage, fast in speed and wide in adaptability. It is especially suitable for the elderly, children, coma and other patients who cannot cooperate with breath-holding examination, as well as for the screening and examination of coronary artery diseases in asymptomatic population. In this paper, the methods of reconstructing 3-D object from medicalCT images and displaying the visible surfaces are discussed. A polygon approximation methodthat forms polygon with the same number of segment points and a fast interpolation method forcross-sectional contours are presented at first. Then the voxel set of a human liver is reconstructed.And then the liver voxel set is displayed using depth and gradient shading methods. The softwareis written in C programming language at a microcomputer image processing system with a PC/ATcomputer as the host and a PC-VISION board as the image processing unit. 目的 对比多层螺旋CT(MSCT)及MRI检查对听神经瘤诊断效能。方法 回顾分析2019年4月—2021年7月收治的86例听神经瘤临床资料。比较MSCT、MRI及二者联合对听神经瘤诊断效能,并分析听神经瘤MSCT、MRI特征。结果 MRI联合MSCT诊断听神经瘤准... 目的 对比多层螺旋CT(MSCT)及MRI检查对听神经瘤诊断效能。方法 回顾分析2019年4月—2021年7月收治的86例听神经瘤临床资料。比较MSCT、MRI及二者联合对听神经瘤诊断效能,并分析听神经瘤MSCT、MRI特征。结果 MRI联合MSCT诊断听神经瘤准确率95.35%(82/86),明显高于单一MRI诊断的84.88%(73/86)、MSCT诊断的72.09%(62/86)(P<0.05)。MSCT平扫可见类圆形肿块,多为均匀等或略低密度信号影,增强扫描肿瘤有明显强化,可为均匀、不均匀或环形强化;MRI平扫囊性肿瘤T1WI、T2WI均呈高或稍高信号,实性肿瘤T1WI呈略低或低信号、T2WI呈高或稍高信号,囊实性肿瘤T1WI呈低或稍低信号、T2WI呈高或稍高信号;增强扫描肿瘤有明显均匀一致性强化。结论 MSCT和MRI均可显示听神经瘤影像学特点,二者联合可提高诊断准确率。 展开更多

目的:探讨低剂量CT扫描对诊断肺结核及病情监测的价值。方法:回顾性分析2019年3月至2021年3月在我院进行治疗的357例疑似肺结核患者临床资料,均接受常规与低剂量扫描。比较两种剂量扫描对肺结核的诊断效能、影像学特征检出率、图像质量... 目的:探讨低剂量CT扫描对诊断肺结核及病情监测的价值。方法:回顾性分析2019年3月至2021年3月在我院进行治疗的357例疑似肺结核患者临床资料,均接受常规与低剂量扫描。比较两种剂量扫描对肺结核的诊断效能、影像学特征检出率、图像质量及辐射参数。结果:病理结果显示357例疑似肺结核患者最终确诊350例,低剂量扫描诊出低剂量扫描诊出342例,灵敏度为99.42%,特异度为33.33%,准确率为96.64%;常规剂量扫描诊出344例,灵敏度为99.71%,特异度为46.15%,准确率为97.76%,两种扫描方式诊断灵敏度、特异度及准确率差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。两种扫描方式横断面、冠状面肺窗、纵隔窗图像质量得分差异无统计学意义(P>0.05);两种扫描方式对肺实变、磨玻璃密度影、钙化灶等影像学征象检出率差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。低剂量扫描剂量长度乘积、容积CT剂量指数及有效剂量均明显低于常规剂量(P<0.05)。结论:较常规剂量,低剂量CT扫描在诊断效果、图像质量相当的情况下,可有效降低辐射剂量,能应用于肺结核诊断及病情监测。 展开更多

目的对比多层螺旋CT(MSCT)常规平扫与低剂量扫描对泌尿系结石的诊断价值。方法选取上犹县中医院2019年10月-2021年5月因疑似泌尿系结石而接受MSCT检查的72例患者,由同一组放射科医师分别进行MSCT常规平扫和低剂量扫描。MSCT扫描所得图... 目的对比多层螺旋CT(MSCT)常规平扫与低剂量扫描对泌尿系结石的诊断价值。方法选取上犹县中医院2019年10月-2021年5月因疑似泌尿系结石而接受MSCT检查的72例患者,由同一组放射科医师分别进行MSCT常规平扫和低剂量扫描。MSCT扫描所得图像采用滤过反投影(FBP)技术和适应统计迭代重建(ASIR)技术进行重建并阅片,以临床影像学复查随访或结石手术结果作为诊断金标准,分别统计并比较MSCT两种扫描方法的结石检出情况,并比较图像质量和MSCT扫描所受的辐射剂量[CT容积剂量指数(CTDIvol)、剂量长度乘积(DLP)和有效剂量(ED)]。结果72例患者经临床影像学随访或手术均证实为泌尿系结石,包括肾结石31例,输尿管结石36例和膀胱结石5例。MSCT常规扫描与低剂量扫描结石检出率分别为100.00%,97.22%,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05),不同部位结石检出率比较差异亦无统计学意义(P>0.05)。MSCT常规扫描与低剂量扫描的图像质量、图像噪声评分比较,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。MSCT低剂量扫描的CTDIvol、DLP、ED值均明显低于MSCT常规扫描,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论MSCT常规平扫和低剂量扫描对泌尿系结石均有较高的诊断价值,相较而言,低剂量扫描能在保障图像质量前提下明显降低辐射剂量,临床应用价值更高。 展开更多
