Methods: 36 patients who visited our hospital from January 2020 to September 2023 were selected as research subjects and randomly divided into the study group (18 cases) and the control group (18 cases). The control group adopted routine examination and rehabilitation training, and the study group adopted sports medicine ultrasound and rehabilitation training. The ankle function scores and daily living ability of the two groups were compared before treatment and 9 weeks after treatment. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between the study group and the control group in terms of ankle function scores and ability to perform activities of daily living before treatment (P > 0.05), but the difference was statistically significant after treatment (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Ultrasound can be used as a supplement to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the ankle joint for diagnosing anterior talofibular ligament injury;ultrasound can show the location, distance, and degree of tear of the anterior talofibular ligament rupture and accurately predict muscle atrophy around the ankle joint;ultrasound combined with computed tomography (CT) can better determine the type of intra-articular fracture of the talar subtalar joint, and guide the choice of surgical timing. In addition, ultrasound can be used to determine the severity of peroneal muscle atrophy, assess the progress of early postoperative functional exercise, and guide personalized rehabilitation programs.展开更多

For the most part, this friction has been couched in the unexamined assumption that Western medicine is based on science, while Chinese medicine is not. This article will examine that assumption, which in this author’s opinion is unjustified and incorrect. Having practiced acupuncture for the past 50 years, after receiving my doctoral degrees in medicine and physiology, my thinking on this topic has also evolved over time. I will begin this article with some historical information that bears on the topic under discussion, followed by my personal ideas about how to resolve the confiicts that have arisen.展开更多
Objective:To analyze the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation in treating adolescent ankle sports injuries.Methods:From December 2020 to December 2022,adolescent patients with ankle joint spo...Objective:To analyze the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation in treating adolescent ankle sports injuries.Methods:From December 2020 to December 2022,adolescent patients with ankle joint sports injuries admitted to our hospital were selected as observation objects,and 67 patients were divided into a control group(n=33,routine rehabilitation treatment)and an experimental group(n=34,traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation treatment)according to the computer grouping method.Compare the treatment results.Results:(i)The treatment received in the experimental group had an efficacy of 94.11%,which was higher than that of the control group(75.75%),and statistical significance was established(P<0.05).(ii)Before treatment,there was no difference in ankle joint pain,ankle joint activity,and ankle joint function scores between the control group and the experimental group(P>0.05);after treatment,the ankle joint pain,ankle joint activity,and ankle joint function scores in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).(iii)The experimental group had higher scores on physiological function,physiological function,physical pain,general health status,energy,social function,emotional function,and mental health compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation is effective in treating ankle injuries caused by sports in adolescents and improve their quality of life.Therefore,it should be popularized.展开更多

The objective of this study was determining the quality of the structural elements of the department of Communicable Diseases & determining the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to improve the quality of activities in the department under research. Materials and Methods: The employed method was Mixed methods (qualitative & quantitative research), on the basis of 10 procedural steps and within 8 sections dealing with evaluated factors;such as 1) organizational and management structure 2) scientific board members 3) students 4) Manpower 5) Space of educational research and health care 6) Equipment 7) curriculum 8) satisfaction of graduates, which were studied using 61 criteria and 172 indicators. Five-point Likert Scale was used for the responses in the questionnaire (1 - 1.75 = undesirable, to 4.2 - 5 completely desirable). Finally the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics indices and the assessment software of the Educational Development Center of TUMS. The instruments used in this method included assessment software, interview, observation and self-prepared questionnaire which consisted of 7 questionnaires and 2 check lists. Finding: The results of the research showed that general average of 8 investigating sections was 56.9% as a rather desirable research work. Conclusions: Therefore, it was concluded that function of the educational management in that group was directly in line with evaluation process, but continuing the process of evaluation seems necessary.展开更多
Function-specific homeostasis(FSH)has been defined as a negative-feedback response of a biosystem to maintain its interior function-specific conditions so that the function is perfectly performed.There is no photobiom...Function-specific homeostasis(FSH)has been defined as a negative-feedback response of a biosystem to maintain its interior function-specific conditions so that the function is perfectly performed.There is no photobiomodulation of intranasal low intensity laser therapy(ILILT)on a function in its FSH,but ILILT could modulate a function far from its FSH.This rehabilitation has been found to be mediated by the ratio of intracellular nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NAD+)and its reduced form NADH,NAD+/NADH,and then sirtuin 1(SIRT1).There might be FSH-specific NAD+/NADH(FSN)and SIRT1 activity(FSA).ILILT might enhance NAD+/NADH and SIRT1 activity until they arrive at FSN and FSA,respectively.The NAD+/NADH and SIRT1 activity of related cells of many athletic diseases such as upper respiratory tract infection,asthma,osteoarthritis,exercise-induced muscle damage,wound,traumatic brain injury,and osteoporosis are lower than FSN and FSA,respectively.Therefore,there may be therapeutic effects of ILILT on those athletic diseases.Furthermore,many phenomena and the ILILT mechanism have been integrated to support the prophylaxis effects of ILILT on the swine-origin influenza A(H1N1).展开更多
BACKGROUND Fellowship directors(FDs)in sports medicine influence the future of trainees in the field of orthopaedics.Understanding the characteristics these leaders share must be brought into focus.For all current spo...BACKGROUND Fellowship directors(FDs)in sports medicine influence the future of trainees in the field of orthopaedics.Understanding the characteristics these leaders share must be brought into focus.For all current sports medicine FDs,our group analyzed their demographic background,institutional training,and academic experience.AIM To serve as a framework for those aspiring to achieve this position in orthopaedics and also identify opportunities to improve the position.METHODS Fellowship programs were identified using both the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America Sports Medicine Fellowship Directories.The demographic and educational background data for each FD was gathered via author review of current curriculum vitae(CVs).Any information that was unavailable on CV review was gathered from institutional biographies,Scopus Web of Science,and emailed questionnaires.To ensure the collection of as many data points as possible,fellowship program coordinators,orthopaedic department offices and FDs were directly contacted via phone if there was no response via email.Demographic information of interest included:Age,gender,ethnicity,residency/fellowship training,residency/fellowship graduation year,year hired by current institution,time since training completion until FD appointment,length in FD role,status as a team physician and H-index.RESULTS Information was gathered for 82 FDs.Of these,97.5%(n=80)of the leadership were male;84.15%(n=69)were Caucasian,7.32%(n=6)were Asian-American,2.44%(n=2)were Hispanic and 2.44%(n=2)were African American,and 3.66%(n=3)were of another race or ethnicity.The mean age of current FDs was 56 years old(±9.00 years),and the mean Scopus H-index was 23.49(±16.57).The mean calendar years for completion of residency and fellowship training were 1996(±15 years)and 1997(±9.51 years),respectively.The time since fellowship training completion until FD appointment was 9.77 years.17.07%(n=14)of FDs currently work at the same institution where they completed residency training;21.95%(n=18)of FDs work at the same institution where they completed fellowship training;and 6.10%(n=5)work at the same institution where they completed both residency and fellowship training.Additionally,69.5%(n=57)are also team physicians at the professional and/or collegiate level.Of those that were found to currently serve as team physicians,56.14%(n=32)of them worked with professional sports teams,29.82%(n=17)with collegiate sports teams,and 14.04%(n=8)with both professional and collegiate sports teams.Seven residency programs produced the greatest number of future FDs,included programs produced at least three future FDs.Seven fellowship programs produced the greatest number of future FDs,included programs produced at least four future FDs.Eight FDs(9.75%)completed two fellowships and three FDs(3.66%)finished three fellowships.Three FDs(3.66%)did not graduate from any fellowship training program.The Scopus H-indices for FDs are displayed as ranges that include 1 to 15(31.71%,n=26),15 to 30(34.15%,n=28),30 to 45(20.73%,n=17),45 to 60(6.10%,n=5)and 60 to 80(3.66%,n=3).Specifically,the most impactful FD in research currently has a Scopus H-index value of 79.By comparison,the tenth most impactful FD in research had a Scopus H-index value of 43(accessed December 1,2019).CONCLUSION This study provides an overview of current sports medicine FDs within the United States and functions as a guide to direct initiatives to achieve diversity equality.展开更多

Background:Chinese medicine is widely applied in Asian and Western countries for its outstanding therapeutic effect,but there are still unsolved problems such as unclear active ingredients and pharmacological effects....Background:Chinese medicine is widely applied in Asian and Western countries for its outstanding therapeutic effect,but there are still unsolved problems such as unclear active ingredients and pharmacological effects.The application of nano/microparticle technology in Chinese medicine may become a promising strategy to solve this problem in the near future(provided that more efforts are made to in-depth exploration).In this work,a comprehensive analysis of the field was carried out from a bibliometrics perspective,and further the publishing trends and research hotspots were figured out.Methods:The articles or reviews from 2000 to 2020 were retrieved in the database of Web of Science Core Collection.The documents were processed by Clarivate Analytic,Visualization of Similarities viewer,Statistical Analysis Toolkit for Informetrics and bibliometric online platform,and the data were visualized.Finally,a bibliometric summary,citation analysis results and research trends were described.Results:A bibliometric analysis of 773 articles of interest showed that research in this field had continued to grow in recent years,with a high degree of interdisciplinary integration.Secondly,this field attached great importance to the quantitative analysis of Chinese medicine combined with nano/micro particle technology.Chinese medicine,nanoparticles and liposomes were the most accessed keywords.China was the main contributing country,and the top-10 contributing organizations were all located in China.Co-authorship was a common phenomenon in this field.Conclusion:The published literature on the application of nano/micro particle technology in Chinese medicine was summarized.The results suggested that bibliometric analysis could predict possible directions for future research in this field.展开更多
Background:With the rapid development of the world’s technology,the connection and integration between traditional medicine and modern machine learning technology are increasingly close.In this study,we aimed to anal...Background:With the rapid development of the world’s technology,the connection and integration between traditional medicine and modern machine learning technology are increasingly close.In this study,we aimed to analyze publications on machine learning in traditional medicine by using bibliometric methods and explore global trends in the field.Methods:Relevant research on machine learning in traditional medicine extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection database.Bibliometric analysis and visualization were performed using the Bibliometrix package in R software.Global trends,source journals,authorship,and thematic keywords analysis were performed in this study.Results:From 2012 to 2022,a total of 282 publications on machine learning in traditional medicine were identified and analyzed.The average annual growth rate of the publications was 13.35%.China had the largest contribution in this field(53.9%),followed by the United States(32.6%).IEEE Access had the largest number of published articles,with a total of 15 articles.Calvin Yu-Chian Chen,Xiao-juan Hu and Jue Wang were the main researchers in this field.Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and University of California,San Francisco were the main research institutions.Conclusion:This study provides information on research trends in machine learning in traditional medicine to better understand research hotspots and future developments in this field.According to current global trends,the number of publications in this field will gradually increase.China currently dominated the field.Applied research of machine learning techniques may be the next hot topic in this field and deserves further attention.展开更多

文摘Journal of Sport and Health Science《运动与健康科学》(英文版),简称JSHS,是我国内地地区第一本英文体育学术期刊,深入分析和全面认识JSHS的期刊画像特征,对我国体育学术英文期刊国际化发展实践和建设世界一流期刊均具有重要现实意义。采集Web of Science数据库中2012-2022年755篇JSHS论文,基于科学计量的方法,系统挖掘了JSHS在时间产出、作者合作、机构分布、刊文热点与趋势等特征,还从影响因子、即年指标、被引半衰期等指标,对标对表British Journal of Sports Medicine(简称BJSM,英国运动医学杂志)进行深入分析。研究发现:JSHS作为新创的体育科学期刊和我国建设世界一流期刊的代表,总体发展势头良好。年载文量稳步增长,期刊影响因子、论文影响力显著提升。论文高产机构来自上海体育学院、北卡罗莱纳大学、卡尔加里大学等,高产作者有Walter Herzog、刘宇、于冰、陈佩杰等,作者队伍越来越壮大,且呈团队合作趋势。JSHS在不断发展中形成6大主题群,包括儿童青少年运动与健康促进、老年人群运动与健康、运动表现分析、运动损伤、运动与疾病风险以及运动与认知功能。对标对表BJSM分析,JSHS在出版周期、年发文量、论文影响力等方面亟需提升。
文摘Medical acupuncture is an extremely useful therapeutic modality in sportsmedicine.There are a number of cardinal points that have proven effective in treating the pain associated with various kinds of sports injury and for alleviating the general discomfort associated with theseinjuries and with any particular illness an athlete may be experiencing.The pain and discomfort experienced by athletes also has mental and spiritual dimensions,and the post-traumatic vital alignment procedure I have developed helps atheletes recover a sense of well-being and″groundedness″after a serious injury or illness has disrupted their total,healthy equilibrium.
文摘Introduction: Self evaluation is a process that defines and collects required data to judge about decision making issues at educational system on whether the educational department is fit to educate students? The objective of this study was determining the quality of the structural elements of the department of Communicable Diseases & determining the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to improve the quality of activities in the department under research. Materials and Methods: The employed method was Mixed methods (qualitative & quantitative research), on the basis of 10 procedural steps and within 8 sections dealing with evaluated factors;such as 1) organizational and management structure 2) scientific board members 3) students 4) Manpower 5) Space of educational research and health care 6) Equipment 7) curriculum 8) satisfaction of graduates, which were studied using 61 criteria and 172 indicators. Five-point Likert Scale was used for the responses in the questionnaire (1 - 1.75 = undesirable, to 4.2 - 5 completely desirable). Finally the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics indices and the assessment software of the Educational Development Center of TUMS. The instruments used in this method included assessment software, interview, observation and self-prepared questionnaire which consisted of 7 questionnaires and 2 check lists. Finding: The results of the research showed that general average of 8 investigating sections was 56.9% as a rather desirable research work. Conclusions: Therefore, it was concluded that function of the educational management in that group was directly in line with evaluation process, but continuing the process of evaluation seems necessary.

文摘Function-specific homeostasis(FSH)has been defined as a negative-feedback response of a biosystem to maintain its interior function-specific conditions so that the function is perfectly performed.There is no photobiomodulation of intranasal low intensity laser therapy(ILILT)on a function in its FSH,but ILILT could modulate a function far from its FSH.This rehabilitation has been found to be mediated by the ratio of intracellular nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NAD+)and its reduced form NADH,NAD+/NADH,and then sirtuin 1(SIRT1).There might be FSH-specific NAD+/NADH(FSN)and SIRT1 activity(FSA).ILILT might enhance NAD+/NADH and SIRT1 activity until they arrive at FSN and FSA,respectively.The NAD+/NADH and SIRT1 activity of related cells of many athletic diseases such as upper respiratory tract infection,asthma,osteoarthritis,exercise-induced muscle damage,wound,traumatic brain injury,and osteoporosis are lower than FSN and FSA,respectively.Therefore,there may be therapeutic effects of ILILT on those athletic diseases.Furthermore,many phenomena and the ILILT mechanism have been integrated to support the prophylaxis effects of ILILT on the swine-origin influenza A(H1N1).
文摘BACKGROUND Fellowship directors(FDs)in sports medicine influence the future of trainees in the field of orthopaedics.Understanding the characteristics these leaders share must be brought into focus.For all current sports medicine FDs,our group analyzed their demographic background,institutional training,and academic experience.AIM To serve as a framework for those aspiring to achieve this position in orthopaedics and also identify opportunities to improve the position.METHODS Fellowship programs were identified using both the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America Sports Medicine Fellowship Directories.The demographic and educational background data for each FD was gathered via author review of current curriculum vitae(CVs).Any information that was unavailable on CV review was gathered from institutional biographies,Scopus Web of Science,and emailed questionnaires.To ensure the collection of as many data points as possible,fellowship program coordinators,orthopaedic department offices and FDs were directly contacted via phone if there was no response via email.Demographic information of interest included:Age,gender,ethnicity,residency/fellowship training,residency/fellowship graduation year,year hired by current institution,time since training completion until FD appointment,length in FD role,status as a team physician and H-index.RESULTS Information was gathered for 82 FDs.Of these,97.5%(n=80)of the leadership were male;84.15%(n=69)were Caucasian,7.32%(n=6)were Asian-American,2.44%(n=2)were Hispanic and 2.44%(n=2)were African American,and 3.66%(n=3)were of another race or ethnicity.The mean age of current FDs was 56 years old(±9.00 years),and the mean Scopus H-index was 23.49(±16.57).The mean calendar years for completion of residency and fellowship training were 1996(±15 years)and 1997(±9.51 years),respectively.The time since fellowship training completion until FD appointment was 9.77 years.17.07%(n=14)of FDs currently work at the same institution where they completed residency training;21.95%(n=18)of FDs work at the same institution where they completed fellowship training;and 6.10%(n=5)work at the same institution where they completed both residency and fellowship training.Additionally,69.5%(n=57)are also team physicians at the professional and/or collegiate level.Of those that were found to currently serve as team physicians,56.14%(n=32)of them worked with professional sports teams,29.82%(n=17)with collegiate sports teams,and 14.04%(n=8)with both professional and collegiate sports teams.Seven residency programs produced the greatest number of future FDs,included programs produced at least three future FDs.Seven fellowship programs produced the greatest number of future FDs,included programs produced at least four future FDs.Eight FDs(9.75%)completed two fellowships and three FDs(3.66%)finished three fellowships.Three FDs(3.66%)did not graduate from any fellowship training program.The Scopus H-indices for FDs are displayed as ranges that include 1 to 15(31.71%,n=26),15 to 30(34.15%,n=28),30 to 45(20.73%,n=17),45 to 60(6.10%,n=5)and 60 to 80(3.66%,n=3).Specifically,the most impactful FD in research currently has a Scopus H-index value of 79.By comparison,the tenth most impactful FD in research had a Scopus H-index value of 43(accessed December 1,2019).CONCLUSION This study provides an overview of current sports medicine FDs within the United States and functions as a guide to direct initiatives to achieve diversity equality.

文摘Background:Chinese medicine is widely applied in Asian and Western countries for its outstanding therapeutic effect,but there are still unsolved problems such as unclear active ingredients and pharmacological effects.The application of nano/microparticle technology in Chinese medicine may become a promising strategy to solve this problem in the near future(provided that more efforts are made to in-depth exploration).In this work,a comprehensive analysis of the field was carried out from a bibliometrics perspective,and further the publishing trends and research hotspots were figured out.Methods:The articles or reviews from 2000 to 2020 were retrieved in the database of Web of Science Core Collection.The documents were processed by Clarivate Analytic,Visualization of Similarities viewer,Statistical Analysis Toolkit for Informetrics and bibliometric online platform,and the data were visualized.Finally,a bibliometric summary,citation analysis results and research trends were described.Results:A bibliometric analysis of 773 articles of interest showed that research in this field had continued to grow in recent years,with a high degree of interdisciplinary integration.Secondly,this field attached great importance to the quantitative analysis of Chinese medicine combined with nano/micro particle technology.Chinese medicine,nanoparticles and liposomes were the most accessed keywords.China was the main contributing country,and the top-10 contributing organizations were all located in China.Co-authorship was a common phenomenon in this field.Conclusion:The published literature on the application of nano/micro particle technology in Chinese medicine was summarized.The results suggested that bibliometric analysis could predict possible directions for future research in this field.
文摘Background:With the rapid development of the world’s technology,the connection and integration between traditional medicine and modern machine learning technology are increasingly close.In this study,we aimed to analyze publications on machine learning in traditional medicine by using bibliometric methods and explore global trends in the field.Methods:Relevant research on machine learning in traditional medicine extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection database.Bibliometric analysis and visualization were performed using the Bibliometrix package in R software.Global trends,source journals,authorship,and thematic keywords analysis were performed in this study.Results:From 2012 to 2022,a total of 282 publications on machine learning in traditional medicine were identified and analyzed.The average annual growth rate of the publications was 13.35%.China had the largest contribution in this field(53.9%),followed by the United States(32.6%).IEEE Access had the largest number of published articles,with a total of 15 articles.Calvin Yu-Chian Chen,Xiao-juan Hu and Jue Wang were the main researchers in this field.Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and University of California,San Francisco were the main research institutions.Conclusion:This study provides information on research trends in machine learning in traditional medicine to better understand research hotspots and future developments in this field.According to current global trends,the number of publications in this field will gradually increase.China currently dominated the field.Applied research of machine learning techniques may be the next hot topic in this field and deserves further attention.
