The start-up process of Stokes' second problem of a viscoelastic material with fractional element is studied. The fluid above an infinite flat plane is set in motion by a sudden acceleration of the plate to steady oscillation. Exact solutions are obtained by using Laplace transform and Fourier transform. It is found that the relationship between the first peak value and the one of equal-amplitude oscillations depends on the distance from the plate. The amplitude decreases for increasing frequency and increasing distance. 展开更多

Our method compiles the interface conditions of the coupled problems ... We present an efficient deep learning method called coupled deep neural networks(CDNNs) for coupling of the Stokes and Darcy–Forchheimer problems. Our method compiles the interface conditions of the coupled problems into the networks properly and can be served as an efficient alternative to the complex coupled problems. To impose energy conservation constraints, the CDNNs utilize simple fully connected layers and a custom loss function to perform the model training process as well as the physical property of the exact solution. The approach can be beneficial for the following reasons: Firstly, we sample randomly and only input spatial coordinates without being restricted by the nature of samples.Secondly, our method is meshfree, which makes it more efficient than the traditional methods. Finally, the method is parallel and can solve multiple variables independently at the same time. We present the theoretical results to guarantee the convergence of the loss function and the convergence of the neural networks to the exact solution. Some numerical experiments are performed and discussed to demonstrate performance of the proposed method. 展开更多

In this paper,we propose a numerical method to estimate the unknown order of a Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative for a fractional Stokes' first problem for a heated generalized second grade fluid.The implicit numerical method is employed to solve the direct problem.For the inverse problem,we first obtain the fractional sensitivity equation by means of the digamma function,and then we propose an efficient numerical method,that is,the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm based on a fractional derivative,to estimate the unknown order of a Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative.In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed numerical method,two cases in which the measurement values contain random measurement error or not are considered.The computational results demonstrate that the proposed numerical method could efficiently obtain the optimal estimation of the unknown order of a RiemannLiouville fractional derivative for a fractional Stokes' first problem for a heated generalized second grade fluid. 展开更多

The flow near a wall suddenly set in motion for a viscoelastic fluid with the generalized Oldroyd-B model is studied. The fractional calculus approach is used in the constitutive relationship of fluid model. Exact analytical solutions of velocity and stress are obtained by using the discrete Laplace transform of the sequential fractional derivative and the Fox H-function. The obtained results indicate that some well known solutions for the Newtonian fluid, the generalized second grade fluid as well as the ordinary Oldroyd-B fluid, as limiting cases, are included in our solutions. 展开更多

The results obtained by this method, has been compared with the existing numerical method and with the exact solution of the problem. It can be observed that the current new approximation has higher accuracy. The number of model parameters required is less than conventional methods. In this article, on the basis of two-level discretizations and multiscale finite element method, two kinds of finite element algorithms for steady Navier-Stokes problem are presented and discussed. The main technique is first to use a standard finite element discretization on a coarse mesh to approximate low frequencies, then to apply the simple and Newton scheme to linearize discretizations on a fine grid. At this process, multiscale finite element method as a stabilized method deals with the lowest equal-order finite element pairs not satisfying the inf-sup condition. Under the uniqueness condition, error analyses for both algorithms are given. Numerical results are reported to demonstrate the effectiveness of the simple and Newton scheme. 展开更多

This method involves solving a Stokes eigenvalue problem on a coarse mesh with mesh size H and a Stokes problem on a fine mesh with mesh size h -- O(H2), which can still maintain the asymptotically optimal accuracy. It provides an approximate solution with the convergence rate of the same order as the usual stabilized finite element solution, which involves solving a Stokes eigenvalue problem on a fine mesh with mesh size h. Hence, the two-level stabilized finite element method can save a large amount of computational time. Moreover, numerical tests confirm the theoretical results of the present method. 展开更多

We obtain the unique existence and the asymptotic stability of stationary solution. Moreover, the convergence rate of solution towards stationary solution is obtained. Precisely, if an initial perturbation decays with the algebraic or the exponential rate in space, the solution converges to the corresponding stationary solution as time tends to infinity with the algebraic or the exponential rate in time.
