However for many students, it is the most demanding and is therefore a skill that needs a considerable amount of practice and training. This paper is meant to deal with listening comprehension from the viewpoint of relevance theory due to its powerful explanation for the nature of listening and its practical application of some relevance-based strategies. It is aiming to establish a strong linkage between theory and practice by illustrating how an instructional model can originate in theory and research and move toward classroom practices that are useful, understandable, and effective for teachers and for students. In the suggested relevance-based strategic model, a number of positive strategies are approached, ranging from linguistic to non-linguistic strategies, which are important in helping students become better language learners and in improving listening teaching.展开更多

The first part presents processes and models of strategic management and introduces a new and unified model of strategic management. It is noteworthy that the film/film industry value chain helps to understand the notion that the links between separate stages have an impact on the company's competitive advantage and reveal how the main product in the film industry, the feature film, is developed. Therefore, the following part analyses models and composition of film industry value models. The final part of this article analyses the main features of a film production company and the sources of funding thereof. The strategic model of independent film production companies is based on the characteristics of strategic management and the value chain models of independent film projects.展开更多

In evaIuation of strategic alternatives , relevant elements from both interna1 and external environments of an organization must be considered. In this paper we use strategic assessment model to evaluate strategic alternatives of an air-conditioning company. Strategic objectives and alternatives of the company are developed through analysis of the competitive environment, key competitors and internal conditions. The environment factors are classified into internal, task, and general opportunities and threats. Ana1ytical hierarchy process, subjective probabilities, entropy concept, and utility theory are used to enhance decision-maker's ability in evaluating strategic alternatives. The evatuation results show that the most effective strategic alternative for the company is to reduce types of products, concentrate its effort on producing window-type and cupboard-type air-conditioners, enlarge the production scale, and pre-empt the market. The company has made great progress by implementing this alternative. We conc1ude that SAM is an appropriate tool for eva1uating strategic alternatives.展开更多

September 2020 marks the anniversary of the 2500 years that have passed since this famous naval battle which took place in late September 480 B.C. The suggested model describes very well the most effective strategic behavior between two participants during a battle (or in a war). Moreover, we compare the results of the Dynamical Systems analysis to Game Theory, considering this conflict as a “war game”.展开更多
