By combining the principle of hierarchical decomposition into D&L method, a hierarchical decomposition model for multilevel SDA is obtained. The developed hierarchical IO-SDA model would provide consistent results and need less computation effort compared with the traditional SDA model. The decomposition results of the steel plant suggest that the technology improvement and reduced steel final demand are two major reasons for declined total energy consumption. The technical improvements of blast furnaces, basic oxygen furnaces, the power plant and the by-products utilization level have contributed mostly in reducing energy consumption. A major retrofit of ancillary process units and solving fuel substitution problem in the sinter plant and blast furnace are important for further energy saving. The Helmholtz decomposition is used to expand the Dirichlet problem for the Navier-Stokes equations into the Archimedean, Stokes, and Navier problems. The exact solution is obtained with the help of the method of decomposition in invariant structures. Differential algebra is constructed for six families of random invariant structures: random scalar kinematic structures, time-complementary random scalar kinematic structures, random vector kinematic structures, time-complementary random vector kinematic structures, random scalar dynamic structures, and random vector dynamic structures. Tedious computations are performed using the experimental and theoretical programming in Maple. The random scalar and vector kinematic structures and the time-complementary random scalar and vector kinematic structures are applied to solve the Stokes problem. The random scalar and vector dynamic structures are employed to expand scalar and vector variables of the Navier problem. Potentialization of the Navier field becomes available since vortex forces, which are expressed via the vector potentials of the Helmholtz decomposition, counterbalance each other. On the contrary, potential forces, which are described by the scalar potentials of the Helmholtz decomposition, superimpose to generate the gradient of a dynamic random pressure. Various constituents of the kinetic energy are ascribed to diverse interactions of random, three-dimensional, nonlinear, internal waves with a two-fold topology, which are termed random exponential oscillons and pulsons. Quantization of the kinetic energy of stochastic chaos is developed in terms of wave structures of random elementary oscillons, random elementary pulsons, random internal, diagonal, and external elementary oscillons, random wave pulsons, random internal, diagonal, and external wave oscillons, random group pulsons, random internal, diagonal, and external group oscillons, a random energy pulson, random internal, diagonal, and external energy oscillons, and a random cumulative energy pulson.展开更多

Due to the segregation of the solute atoms near defects through diffusion, this leads to non-uniform distributions of solute atoms in the parent phase with distinct regions of both solute enrichment and solute depletion. It is proposed that when the Ms temperature at the solute depleted regions is equal to or higher than the isothermal (or aged) temperature, nucleation of bainite occurs within these solute depleted regions in the manner of martensitic shear. Further analysis is also given on the various determinants of the change in the emission volume, with the aid of structural decomposition analysis (SDA) based on a residual-free method. Based on the input-output table of China in 2002 and 2007, the merge of sectors and the adjustment of price change have been made during the study. The emissions of carbon dioxide in China increased from 2,887.3 million ton to 5,664.6 million ton during 2002-2007. The average rate of increase is 13.3%, faster than the average rate of gross domestic product (GDP) growth 11.6% slightly. According to the process of SDA, the changes in emission are analyzed in terms of four different factors. Among the four factors studied in the paper, it is found that the change of emission intensity and structure of demand are the main reason of the decrease of emission, while production technology and scale effect increase the emission volume. The paper also finds that although the direct emission intensity decreased during the study period, the total emission intensity increased with the annual rate of 3.8%, which reflects the result of energy policy is not equal in different sectors.展开更多

Based on China's (imporO non-competitive input-output table and employment data provided by the World Input-Output Database (WIOD), this paper has estimated China "s total employment and skill-specific employment between 1995 and 2009 and utilized structural decomposition method to investigate the effects of trade liberalization and outsourcing as two internationalization factors on China's job growth. Results indicate that between 1995 and 2009, China's total employment and skill-specific employment increased significantly, and the expansion of final output and particularly export expansion is a major driver of job growth, that the reduction in labor input coefficient is a major restraint of job growth, and that outsourcing is generally unfavorable to China's job growth. By specific product categories, their production internationalization effect of the production sectors of different types of products (aggregate effect of trade liberalization and variation in the level of outsourcing on employment variation) derives from different sources. For sectors of low technology products, their production internationalization effect mainly derives from the expansion of the share of export. For the production sectors of medium technology products, their production internationalization effect mainly derives from outsourcing expansion. By specific groups of workforce, low-skilled workforce is the most vulnerable to the impact of production internationalization, medium-skilled workforce is subject to relatively small effect, while the effect on highly-skilled workforce is negligible.展开更多

Thus, it is of great importance to measure carbon emissions in international trade and probe into the causes behind them. This paper first applies inputoutput model then it estimates the carbon emissions embodied in China's international trade in 2002, 2005 and 2007. Using structural decomposition analysis, this paper measures carbon emissions in international trade by their scale effect, composition effect and intensity effect. Our results illustrate: (1) a rapidly-rising net export of carbon emissions for China, and (2) scale effect and composition effect stimulates carbon emissions embodied in exports, while intensity effect discourages it.展开更多

Analysis results indicate that the energy intensity effect remains the biggest factor behind carbon emissions reduction. This paper also .found that between 2002 and 2007, China's carbon emissions growth obviously accelerated compared to the previous period, which indicates a "high carbon" tendency in the new round of industrialization. Therefore, in addition to developing a circular economy and clean production, accelerating the phasing out of backward capacities, and developing new energies, China should further encompass the positive role of energy intensity.展开更多

The results showed that the final demand level which was the most important factor leading to the growth of carbon emissions performed a steadily and significantly positive and sustained effect. The carbon emissions intensity which was the only factor that led to the reduction in carbon emissions showed a negative effect. The input-output technology showed a positive effect. The final demand structure underwent a transition from a negative effect to a weak positive effect and finally to a positive effect. In order to achieve the goal of total carbon emission control,China should take some measures such as reducing direct carbon emission coefficient to strengthen the negative impact of carbon emission intensity. Meanwhile,China should implement some structural adjustment measures such as optimizing the final demand structure and reducing the proportion of industries with a great increase of influence coefficient to change the input-output technology and the final demand structure from the positive effect to the negative effect.展开更多

Results show that total carbon dioxide emissions were 6.79 and 9.30 billion tons, and carbon dioxide emission intensity was 0.37 and 0.33 ton per thousand CNY in 2005 and 2010, respectively. Carbon dioxide emission intensity declined 11% over these five years. We used structural decomposition analysis modeling to measure the effect of four factors on this reduction in intensity. We found that the contribution values of energy structure, energy efficiency, economic growth mode and economic structure were -0.001, -0.102, 0.050, and 0.013 ton per thousand CNY, respectively. Changes in energy efficiency and energy structure are major factors promoting decreases in carbon dioxide emission intensity; the effect of the former is more distinct than the latter. Economic growth mode and economic structure are major factors that increase carbon dioxide emission intensity, whereby the effect of the former is more distinct than the latter.展开更多

The decomposition forms, which are used to measure the contribution of a specific determinant, are not unique due to the existence of a multitude of equivalent forms, irrational due to the weights of different determinants not matching, inexact due to the existence of large interaction terms. In this paper, a decomposition method is derived to overcome these deficiencies, and we prove that the result of this approach is equal to the Shapley value in cooperative games, and so some properties of the method are obtained. Beyond that, the two approaches that have been used predominantly in the literature have been proved to be the approximate solutions of the method.展开更多

However, few detailed analysis has been done to explain the fluctuation in energy intensity during 2002-005. In this paper, we use the structural decomposition analysis (SDA) to decompose energy intensity into five determining factors: Energy input coefficient, technology coefficient (Leontief inverse coefficient), final demands structure by product, final demands by category and final energy consumption coefficient. We then further decompose two coefficients, energy input coefficient and technology coefficient, into structure and real coefficient. Empirical study is carried out based on the energy-input-output tables from 1987 to 2005 in 2000 constant price. The results show that between 1987 and 2002, energy input structure accounts for most of the decline in energy intensity. However, the input structure and final demands structure by product explain the increase of the energy intensity between 2002 and 2005.展开更多

By specific groups of workforce, low-skilled workforce is the most vulnerable to the impact of production internationalization, medium-skilled workforce is subject to relatively small effect, while the effect on highly-skilled workforce is negligible.
文摘Due to ongoing growth in carbon emission, many governments' have taken measures to curb it. Our results illustrate: (1) a rapidly-rising net export of carbon emissions for China, and (2) scale effect and composition effect stimulates carbon emissions embodied in exports, while intensity effect discourages it.
文摘This paper creates an extended import-competitive economy-energy-environmental input/output model and employs a structural decomposition analysis (SDA) approach based on double-layer nested structural formulae to break down China's carbon dioxide emissions growth between 1992 and 2007from three perspectives: the overall economy, by-industry and by industrial sectors. Therefore, in addition to developing a circular economy and clean production, accelerating the phasing out of backward capacities, and developing new energies, China should further encompass the positive role of energy intensity.

文摘The simplified D&L method with special properties required by ideal decomposition method was used to decompose the impact of carbon emission intensity,input-output technology, the final demand structure and the final demand level on changes in industrial carbon emissions in China during 1997-2012. Meanwhile,China should implement some structural adjustment measures such as optimizing the final demand structure and reducing the proportion of industries with a great increase of influence coefficient to change the input-output technology and the final demand structure from the positive effect to the negative effect.

文摘Decomposition analysis has been widely used to assess the determinants of energy and CO_(2)emissions in academic research and policy studies. Both the methodology and application of decomposition analysis have been largely improved in the past decades. After more than 50 years’developments, decomposition studies have become increasingly sophisticated and diversified, and tend to converge internally and integrate with other analytical approaches externally.A good understanding of the literature and state of the art is critical to identify knowledge gaps and formulate future research agenda. To this end, this study presents a literature survey for decomposition analysis applied to energy and emission issues, with a focus on the period of 2016–2021.A review for three individual decomposition techniques is first conducted, followed by a synthesis of emerging trends and features for the decomposition analysis literature as a whole. The findings are expected to direct future research in decomposition analysis.

文摘Here we utilize input-output tables for 2005 and 2010 to calculate the change in carbon dioxide emission intensity. Economic growth mode and economic structure are major factors that increase carbon dioxide emission intensity, whereby the effect of the former is more distinct than the latter.

文摘Over the past two decades, structural decomposition analysis (SDA) has developed into a major analytical tool in the field of input-output (IO) techniques, but the method was found to suffer from one or more of the following problems. Beyond that, the two approaches that have been used predominantly in the literature have been proved to be the approximate solutions of the method.

文摘There has been considerable debate about the major factors responsible for the dramatic decline of China's energy intensity in the 1980s and 1990s. However, the input structure and final demands structure by product explain the increase of the energy intensity between 2002 and 2005.
文摘The world energy demand is increasing due to rapid growth in the global economy, industrialization, and urbanization.Pakistan is also confronted with increasing energy demand on one hand and is confronted with the challenge of energy demand-supply gap on the other hand.Since energy is the major driver for growth,it becomes important to investigate the trends of energy consumption in a country and the factors that are most affecting the changes in the use of energy. This particular study aims to investigate the use of energy by all the economic sectors of Pakistan during 2000–2012.The major contribution is the first time application of structural decomposition analysi for energy usage along with using Input-Output data for the period of 2002–2012.The results show the fluctuation of the energy intensity of the sectors throughout the study period. Also, the overall effect of energy intensity is negative on energy consumption and it shows a negative contribution value of-80.90%for the study period.Furthermore, the focus on more energy-intensive products like cement, automobiles, iron, steel products and the increasing final demand of the economy contributes to the growth of energy consumption in Pakistan during 2000–2012.

文摘Homogeneous wavelets and framelets have been extensively investigated in the classical theory of wavelets and they are often constructed from refinable functions via the multiresolution analysis. On the other hand, nonhomogeneous wavelets and framelets enjoy many desirable theoretical properties and are often intrinsically linked to the refinable structure and multiresolution analysis. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive study on connecting homogeneous wavelets and framelets to nonhomogeneous ones with the refinable structure. This allows us to understand better the structure of homogeneous wavelets and framelets as well as their connections to the refinable structure and multiresolution analysis.
