A novel structure design of micro optic electro mechanical system(MOEMS)gyroscope is presented in this paper.The structure combining surface acoustic wave(SAW)sensor,optical waveguide diffractive component,electro...A novel structure design of micro optic electro mechanical system(MOEMS)gyroscope is presented in this paper.The structure combining surface acoustic wave(SAW)sensor,optical waveguide diffractive component,electro-optical modulator etc.is integrated on a LiNbO3 substrate as the gyroscope for sensing rotating angular velocity,and an optical readout device is added on the traditional SAW typed TE-TM mode converter as the detecting device.The principles of the MOEMS are discussed in the paper,and simulation result shows that there would be apparent advantages of higher precision and stronger anti-vibration capacity.展开更多

Based on multimode interference couplers, the two-mode converters with 50% and 66% mode conversion efficiencies are designed and fabricated on InP substrates. AIode conver- sion from the fundamental mode (TEo) to the first order mode (TE1) is successfully demonstrated within the wavelength range of 1280-1320nm. Electronic excitations over each nanotube surface are modeled as an infinitesimally thin cylindrical layer of the free-electron gas. The scattering cross section of both transverse magnetic (TM) and transverse electric (TE) uniform plane waves by the system at normal incidences is obtained.展开更多

The...Circular aperture antenna recently has been regarded as a nature source to generate high power radio orbital angular momentum (OAM) in millimeter (mm) wave; however, the radiation pattern was not investigated. Theoretical derivation of radiation pattern of circular aperture OAM antenna is conducted to evaluate the performance. Extensive simulations verify the validity of the theoretical result. Furthermore, performance of such antenna excited by orthogonal TE and TM modes is compared, which shows the potential application for TEgl mode to create pure OAM g-1 mode in a practical system, providing guidance for generation of twisted radio waves in mm-wave bands.展开更多
