We have carried out a descriptive analysis using the MATLAB software. Picard’s and Taylor’s techniques for deriving numerical solutions are both strong mathematical instruments that behave similarly. All first-order differential equations in standard form that have a constant function on the right-hand side share this similarity. As a result, we can conclude that Taylor’s approach is simpler to use, more effective, and more accurate. We will contrast Rung Kutta and Taylor’s methods in more detail in the following section.展开更多

Similarity transformations are used to reduce the governing partial differential equations into a kind of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The nonlinear prob- lem is solved by using the successive Taylor series linearization method (STSLM). The computations for velocity components are carried out for the emerging parameters. The numerical values of the skin friction coefficient are presented and analyzed for various parameters of interest in the problem.展开更多

The standard Galerkin method can be viewed as the 0_th order Taylor expansion method; while the nonlinear Galerkin method can be viewed as the 1_st order modified Taylor expansion method. Moreover, the existence of the numerical solution and its convergence rate were proven. Finally, a concrete example, namely, the two_dimensional Navier_Stokes equations with a non slip boundary condition, was provided. The result is that the higher order Taylor expansion method is of the higher convergence rate under some assumptions about the regularity of the solution.展开更多

The ideal elasto-plastic constitutive model of material under a Taylor impact is characterized by the Jaumann stress- and strain-rates. An updated Lagrangian format is used for the calculation in a nu- merical analysis. With the RKPM, this paper deals with the calculation model for the Taylor impact and deduces the control equation for the impact process. A program was developed to simulate numerically the Taylor impact of projec- tiles composed of several kinds of material. The simulation result is in good accordance with both the test results and the Taylor analysis outcome. Since the meshless method is not limited by meshes, it is believed to be widely applicable to such complicated processes as the Taylor impact, including large deformation and strain and to the study of the dy- namic qualities of materials.展开更多
